Plane crash in western Indonesia kills five

Recommended Posts

Surprised that no one pick it up even though it happened on 12 FEB 2011. A CASA 212 Aviocar 100 PK-ZAI belonging to SMAC crashed on approach to Tg Pinang Airport. All 5 on board perished.

Yup, read about the crash. Thought it would be depressing to post such articles here.

The Aviocar was on a training flight after having its engine replaced. It disappeared from the radar scope shortly after taking flight. There's no distress call etc. Resident phoned up to inform the authorities about the crash. Could be engine failure and spun out of control. Folks in the know were commenting how poorly the Aviocar glide.
