Cousin of Kelantan Sultan appointed to Succession Council

KOTA BAHARU: Captain Tengku Datuk Ahmad Farizanudean Khairi, a cousin of the Sultan of Kelantan, has been appointed a member of the Kelantan Royal Succession Council.

 

The Comptroller of the Kelantan Royal Household, Datuk Abdul Halim Hamad, said in a statement to Bernama that the appointment of Tengku Ahmad Farizanudean, 47, was made at a function at Istana Telipot, yesterday.

 

He said Tengku Ahmad Farizanudean, a pilot with Malaysia Airlines (MAS), would be bestowed the Darjah Kebesaran Jiwa Mahkota Kelantan (SJMK) First Class, which carries the title "Datuk", by the Regent of Kelantan, Tengku Muhammad Faris Petra Sultan Ismail Petra, tomorrow.

 

Abdul Halim said that following the appointment, the council had 18 members.

 

The council is chaired by the Tengku Laksamana of Kelantan, Tengku Abdul Halim Al-Haj Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Ibrahim, a grand uncle of the regent. -- BERNAMA
