  1. Yes, but they must be a bit "clever" and they can't design if it's not possibility to being. Some of part in comments shows the most important point; safety and evacuation.....also cabin service would be negative affected by this seating scheme. There are also a few more negativity;

    - comfort of flying direction; many people are discomfort about moving back seating, especially womans.

    - passanger mood; would you like to fly with any stranger almost face to face a few centimeters away from your face? It is not like the same experience if any person who seated of your side seat becouse of, human eyes have an angle to view and you can not see any person who seated by yours. In this seating design, the head of middle seat person is forward of you eyes contact so always you want to turn your head for prevent to. The worst positioning would be when seat to move backward :)

    - it would be affected turnaround time; cabin cleaning process would be much longer because of traditional seatings are allowed to cleaning stuff in freely. Mixed seating would be harder to cleaning (wasting time)

Creative design is not meaning to design whatever to having sudden to wish something to do!....This is "brain storming". Creative design must be "usefull" even not possible to product by existing technics.

    ........in my opinion ofcourse.......

  2. They are awesome pictures. Thanks very much for your sharing.Konya is one of the most important base in Turkish air Force because of Konya AFB is a one of main jet training centers about ready to fighters.

Those F4s have had unlucky period last few years and for a while cheased all flights in past months after 3 deadly crashes in short time. Phantoms were developed to next years under a project which was the name "Phantom 2020-Terminator" and renewed avionics and weapon systems. Only retired RF4Es from the fleet and the rest of continues on the duty.

One of my friends also joined "tiger meet" at the Konya AFB and shared the pictures with us in our local forums. You are really lucky to been there, it is fantastic opportunity.

  3. This is a huge design and construction project. I was expecting much more "serious" design and presentation instead of looks like "student project"!

I'm sure it would be like that I'm expecting but wy they wer used "simple" pcitures for presentation on the Airbus web page?! If they planned to open firs quarter of 2016, the main project already have done and ready to construction. So we could see actual final project.....at least I wonder.

  4. Well, neither 2015, nor 2016 or beyond!!! Only possible chance to get seems like when the new airport opened.

But, our goverment continue to make (or trying) some major mistakes. As you know, new Istanbul mega airport (!) will be open early 2017, when under operation that will be completed first or two runways as stage1. Exist Ataturk Airport is facing "close" to operation when new airport works. The problem is; no one alternate airport for an a380 if Ataturk closed. (many peoples wants to keep Ataturk Airport alive for strategic airport for example executive airport, training centers, relief if necessary etc but government insist about to open construction for residence and shopping centers...)

747 has no problem but not comfy about fully load in summer session if THY wants to be use long haul flights. I'm sure they handle it but no chance to A380 before 2017, and then if they couldn't be managed at least two airport more than 150nm ahead of Istanbul for A380 operations.

  5. It's not easy to lease A380 neither MH nor any other airlines.

1- there is no parking lot in IST Ataturk airport, especially in terminal areas. Thatswhy, a new remote apron has ben remodified took away from military ramp. It would be very interesting if they want to use stairs for passangers :) I don't talk about air-bridge problems.

2- honestly, A380 alternate airport is biggest problem on the list priority. Istanbul Ataturk Airport has been used for A380 but she was "empty" not fully load for long haul flight.

Sometimes I'm going to airport side for watching takeoffs and landings. Especially in summer session, it seems really hard to takeoff for fully load A340s,B777 and A330. Many A340/330 pilots confirms that about limitations. So, I think A380 is not suitable for existing runways. The worst, no space to extend of runways anymore.....unless if they could find a solution like as "engineering" (example like as Madeira)

But seriously, all the rest of airports are not able to be an alternate airports by runways configuration (surface density, width, taxiways, terminal areas etc,) if they want to use, must be disembarking with only one airbridge!

When 3rd airport finished, A380 might becomes operable but alternate airport problems will be existing still.

We are waiting for general election in june. So government trying to make some "shows" what they have done. Turkish airlines is a sign of success and if they show a A380 in Turkish Airlines colours, it would be positive counts in their company during election.....even be that A380 grounded in IST....it doesn't matter for Turkish Politics and politicians!

  6. I'm sure you know autothrottle in Boeings, when A/P and Auto throttle engaged, thrust levers moves forward or backward automaticly itself by a servo motor.

Different is, thrust levers doesn't moves itself in Airbus while A/P engaged, the pilots set the throttle once by remarks on throttle quadrant (according by flight situation). The rest of all power settings doing by computer. Example when you set takeoff power, you push the levers foward FLX position and hands off. In the remain of flight levers doesn't moves, stays the position but engines RPM changes A/P/MCDU/SPEED commands by computer.

So basicly, if levers moves automatic=autothrottle, if levers stable and does not moves=autothrust in "auto flight speed(N1,SPD,FMC etc) mode".

  7. My deeply condolences to victims.

just I'm curious, is it possible power lost (flameout) in both engine in the same time? whats are the possible reasons of thats? dirty fuel, electro-mechanic failure of fuel pumps or propeller feather, bird strikes to both engines, engine stall on turbine with excessive AoA etc??

  8. According some rumours after Reuters news and people who are working in aviation in here(never has been talk about before); Turkish Airlines intresting with 2XA380 of Qantas for rental (I don't know renting conditions ACMI or WET,etc). Also another rumours that is comes from Turkish Airlines HQ, GM of THY Mr. Kotils says that " we are interesting with last minute opportunities of manufacturers like as unclaimed or cancelled orders with lower list prices" without any aircraft type name given. It is possible becuase of aged A340s will be retire when they have a hance to replace with new planes. Honestly, they are much closer to twin engines rather than 4 engines because of fuel effiency and maintenance (human power and budget). BEsides, there is no place for A380 in IST. Maybe it could be in new 3rd airport but it is impossbile for IST. Only 1 parking slot up to 747 in terminal and gate area with two bridge which are not suitable or modifyable for A380. Thatswhy no 747 operates to IST unless get the park position in remote ramps.

  9. If it's true, probably it would be for 5 years later when new 3rd airport opened to operations. Because of IST doesn't have any gate for A380, alos doesn't have any parking slot such as this size aircraft :) Parking slots, ramps are the most important issue for IST today. There is a new construction on the south side of airport about removing some of military shelters and create new parking space. If an aircraft has long grounded time (late turnaround), pulling this area for resting until flight time. So, there is no chance to find a place for A380 in IST ramps :)

I said that, there is no A380 news in here. After reuters, a few aviation source began to service about A380 news at the noon. Still no official release by Turkish Airlines or Airbus.

  10. well , I know they are intresting with A350 seriously. But I didn't heard that about A380 in here. Some of destinations are really good about loaded but not much enough for filling up an A380. They can be fix the capacity problem with increasing frequency with the same size aircrafts. Nowadays 777 is seems like the best options for Turkish Airlines. Even they don't interest 747s!

In priority, Turkish Airlines would be needs cargo planes. Last two A310 (converted pax to F) will be retired in following months and an era (A310 operatings) will be end for Turkish Airlines. So probably, cargo planes orders can be expects about A330F or B777F becouse of they have just only 5 A330F for cargo and operations increasing almost %20 in every year.

  11. you mean, the route could be suspended shortly after departure?

-Doesn't Indonesia Aviation authority use any database by computerized for checking approvals, permissions, suspensions, restrictions?

-In European continent (at least I myself know that) flight plans approvals by Eurocontrol. Is there the samelike authority in Southeast Asia region? (as far as I remember Singapore based SITA does the same duty). So how they give the approvals for flight plan even include "suspended" air route. You know, all restrictions (unless urgents) publicates by Notams hours or days before. It is possible to passed all signs, restrictions, permissons etc in a flight?

I'm just curious, I'm not intend to start an arguments or I don't have a claim. Just I'm thinking about the news about Indonesia's transportation ministery said.

  12. AIRASIA didn’t have permission to fly from Surabaya to Singapore on the Sunday morning that Flight 8501 crashed into the Java Sea, and its flights along the route have been suspended, Indonesia’s transportation ministry said.

    More at: http://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/wall-street-journal/airasia-flight-qz8501-airline-didnt-have-approval-for-route/story-fnay3ubk-1227173583038?nk=2011e2fc817b77d921060fb4837b0d3d

Are they serious? how the plane has been departed from an international Airport Surabaya without permission for to be fly on suspended airoute??...how they get the "confirmed" flight plan by dispetch, how they receive a confirmed "flight stripes" at the tower by authority? If they want to say "there is no permission to Air Asia flights from Surabaya to Singapore by any offical reasons by slots, security reasons, flight permission between two country, only related operation issues of Air Asia Indonesia".....it's OK, sounds like logical. If it so be, how they departed???

    meanwhile, newspaper link needs subscriptions

  13. Almost all newspaper released the news as "a Malaysian aircraft missing once again" (or like that) since yesterday. Reporters are not able to undestand AirAsia and AirAsia-Indonesia, altought missing plane registered Indonesia. The worst some of newspapers connected the tragedies of Malaysian Airlines.

Air Asia as know as "Malaysia brand", so it is a bit hard to change to origin of the brand. If Air Asia would have an airline in Vietnam and if would be happend an accident, the people would pay the attention about " AirAsia=Malaysia" not an Vietnamese airline. (it's an example not about Vietnam)

Anyway, is there any news about accident? what about vessels of crash site?

  14. Well, I can not say "they are wrong about if they apply a new regulations". They are right because of, new generations drones, hexacopters, quadrocopters are much more capability and many people use them personal/commercial in use about camera. Even smallers ones can be threat about airplanes safety.

Those drones/hexacopters or else must have serial number and registered by authority against possible conflicts. The users must get some responsibility about to use of them ( for personal privacy, etc)

  15. Meanwhile, Malaysia Airports Berhad, holds the all shares of IStanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport operating rights. Another shareholders LIMAK co. has been resigned from the investment of ISGA and remained the shares to MAHB in last month. (I don't remember the value of LIMAK's shares. As a procedural, LIMAK offered to MAHB first if they want to buy those shares and MAHB accepted the offer)

The operating rights available until 2030 when would be new adjudicate about airport operation rights.
