It's laughable because the so called facts as presented by you could just be biased western news and you call it 'facts'?  Should I even take you seriously?

As I said many times, you can nag all you want, at the end of the day you aren't a tax payer of China and you aren't ethnically Chinese, why would your opinion count?  If you think the Chinese government suck, then ask your government to stop working with them.  I think you score much better chance at this.

Is this a thread where you should keep arguing about this subject?  If it is then keep going, you won't hear anything from me.

What Jahur sair, bunch of bla bla bla's.

  2. What had actually happened? The news articles seemed to be doing their best to suppress info on how the accident happened.

It was a Bombardier 9M-TST (Berjaya Group) left wings leading edge that struck the vehicle. Did the aircraft land when the vehicle was on the runway?

Looking at the picture it seems it's not your typical ground vehicle bumping and denting an aircraft. The left wing appears to have sliced right through the roof pillars of the vehicle at a high speed.

If tower cleared the a/c to land while the vehicle was still on the runway then this is a serious safety oversight. Somebody up in the tower could have been sleeping on the job unaware of the ground vehicle. Either that or the vehicle strayed onto the runway, which is also a serious safety oversight.

If anyone can dig up past NOTAM of the airfield to see if there's any mention of runway closure/repair work it would shed some light on how this may have happened.

  3. From the above discussions here it just shows how difficult it is to position MH. Keyboard warriors like us can't even have common ground to agree on - imagine what it is like to make decisions at MH! They really need to use big data techniques to understand the requirements of their customer base - over the years Airasia has skillfully used their data to refine their revenue base.

Japan Airlines is a good example of determination to restore profits to the airline. Qantas is another example. In both cases, it was necessary for the airline to make very painful decisions. MAB has not taken the real painful decisions to its core yet. They have used up their RM 6b cash injection and they are still unable to break even, let alone make a profit. The management needs to reassess their business position.

The new government will think long and hard about bailing them out again because they have been bailed out so many times in the past and their financial position is still weak. They need to run a sustainable operation - otherwise, it is best to do an Airasia and sell them off at RM 1 to a buyer....

On the revenue side, MAB is still plagued by relatively poor booking class mix year after year, the sheer size of the lower classes bring the average down. They are still selling hard and not selling smart. It's a brute force approach on the market instead of a surgical one. Low penetration rate of internet bookings also compounds the problem with high cost of sales. Also non-fuel costs are not as low as they wished it to be.

  4. Take away that one row of F to LHR and the VVIPs will now have a legitimate reason to fly another airline. THAT's a wasted opportunity. You'll be surprised by how much revenue F brings in. Many of us don't pay top dollar to fly in F but there are people who do.

The F seat isn't as bad as what some people say after looking at pictures. Sure, it's not SQ Suites or EY Residence, but an airline like MH should be more focused on competing against D7 Flatbed anyway ;)

You're missing the point. You're speaking as if all the four seats are taken on most flights. You'd be surprised how much revenue F does NOT bring if you're privy to the numbers...

Truth is, so-called VVIPs aren't very important in the bigger scale of airline revenue generation. If they flock to OALs' so be it. Sooner or later F cabin will be non-existent anyway ;) ;) ;)

  5. MAB do not need a LCC, their current state already look like an LCC anyway, the non-BSI is still there for passengers "lucky draw", those BSI birds are not really being kept up to standard as well (IFE is lagging, the BSI interior can sense "black dot"). Even those miscellaneous adds on while booking making one feels I am buying an LCC ticket. The high economy promo fares currently also a drawback.

Just derail a bit, can someone tell why despite overcapacity and bleeding; SZB fares cannot go down back to 2 digit fares (below 50 per way) instead? RM 189 - RM 200 per way is way too much.

In its current state do you think MAB really want (or need) to increase budget on revamping cabin and IFE?

There's very limited competition ex-Subang. If one carrier raises fares yet impact on passenger volume is minimal, it won't take long for the other to follow suit and increase fares too. Who wouldn't want a boost in revenue from higher yields, especially when your neighbour is enjoying it and breaking even with an easier to achieve load factor.

Driving revenue is key focus: MAB

KUALA LUMPUR: The key focus for national carrier Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAB) is drive revenue growth, with the expectation to halve its 2017 loss of RM812 million this year.
Group chief executive officer Captain Izham Ismail, in its first interview with NST Business, said the airline had shown improved performance in the first half this year.

Looks like the CEO is in a loss-mitigating mode. Wonder if he's got a clue what direction to take. There is a need to fix the base business, and strings of promos isn't a healthy way to do it like what we've seen this year.

Perhaps Khazanah should look East at JAL, or just let go of MAB and let it operate like a business. The A350 really shouldn't have that coffin-style space-wasting First class and it is one of the wasted opportunity for more revenue.

  6. Aren't they using the A332 for KUL-AKL direct? The 332 would have been perfect for this route, I would have thought!

No. As per the schedules, MH is only selling one way tickets AKL-KUL.

Actually once 131 lands in SUB after circling until midday pax are to make their own onward arrangements to AKL for them to catch the 130 back to KUL.

  7. I think that our typical poor maintenance has killed the aerotrains. It is probably better to get new ones. Bombardier trains seem to be easier to maintain.

The Putra Line LRT trains are still running while the Star Ampang line trains have gone to the demolition yards. So maybe MAHB should look at Bombardier trains to replace the current aerotrains.

The Aerotrain is not really a train in its true sense. It's got rubber wheels and the track guides its direction. The fact that there's less moving parts i.e no rails shows MAHB's attitude to maintenance of the trains. Haven't they got a spare train?

  8. I dont understand your incessant need in resorting to personal attacks when someone disagrees with you or even begs to differ, as I have.

I truly am shocked that a lawyer doesnt know the difference between vocabulary and grammar. Its funny that you personally attack me as being lazy when in fact, you wont even google the phrase keyboard warrior for yourself. Your reply was hypocrisy at its best; you are the epitome of a lazy, keyboard warrior, and possibly even more, in my humble opinion of course.

But what would I know right? Im not a doctor or a pilot, and certainly not a lawyer.

Oh, and getting back on topic, how did you deduce btw that these MH social media staff were unsalaried? Im genuinely curious how you know this.

The singling out wouldnt happen if personal attacks didnt happen in the first place.

Don't you think it is better for everyone that one is not overly sensitive and does not entertain and react to petty remarks on an Internet forum? Doing so is adding fuel to fire :)

  9. There's technically nothing wrong with the promo video, even from a language standpoint. Ambiance is as correct as ambience as far as language is concerned. Heck even the spellcheck on this forum reply box is putting a red underline under the word ambience, but none under ambiance. Sure ambience is more widely used but ambiance is still correct, it doesn't even sound odd. This harks back to the AirAsia's Bank Rakyat livery where people disputed the tagline on the plane... 'Your Choice Bank' vs 'Your Bank of Choice'.

If some of the people here had known better then the wonky MH Facebook replies wouldn't have showed up here, causing the thread to start on its downward spiral to what it is right now. Let's see how far it's going to devolve.

By the way could everyone lay off on singling out other users. It only aggravates things.

    Cheers all.

  10. I am just saying the fact that in this case it was not operating with a near full capacity. Likewise MH148 from MEL to KUL was diverted to Alice Springs to pick up some passengers on its way back to KUL - which would mean it stil had seats for quite a number of passengers. When did I say all other airlines have better passenger load? But however based on my personal travels with SIA flights to and from MEL, its 4 daily flights usually have very good high loads and at times its not even easy to get a seat at short notice. And in fact last March 2017, I travelled on MH 148 from MEL to KUL, I was very surprised that it was only at most 45% filled but that gives all passengers good rooms to stretched and have a extra seats to themselves.

What difference would it have made if it was operating at full capacity? More sensational? Please enlighten.

  11. yes, lets move on, ive stated my case, lets see what other so called " matured thinking people" will do. and not only i have a legal background but i am a lawyer so my thinking may differ from layman, just saying.

anyway i love the A350, had a brief but nice experience during my recent PEN trip and pax will definitely love the quietness of the cabin of this plane.cheers

Not only you have a legal background but you are a lawyer too? The top brass of MH must be sh*tting their pants right now...

Don't mind me I am a layman and and my thinking differs from that of a donkey... and I'm totally proud of it!

  12.

why should you care what im inferring and why should you be sensitive if you had done nothing wrong and portrayed good and exemplary attitude which you can pass down to your good mannered children?? get it together woman all ppl could see you were trying to undermine my last statement about being able to secure the F seat, if you are not concerned about being relocated to other seats that's your choice why should you impose that on others and try to be sarcastic? and when people gave it back to you you couldnt take it???

Please, believe a lot of people don't quite appreciate this patronising and somewhat sexist remark. If you have a beef with another person appreciate if you could make use of the private messaging feature. Thanks.

  13. Unless you are unfamiliar with FSCs I don't see any other reason you may think you need to pay for baggage allowance. When one reaches the Choose Services page it's quite clear to see these services are extras in addition to what's already in your booking. Also when selecting your flight if you click on the fare product it shows your allocated baggage allowance, mile accrual what have you.
