  1. Hi Ashley, my colleague has reached Platinum status with 100k miles earned by flying economy only. I seem to remember that to achieve Platinum status you had to accrue points on Business or First class fares only. Since joining Oneworld, this is not the case.

Thanks very much for that! I've been on the phone with the loveliest of agents for the past 45 minutes debating about the current existence of platinum miles. I guess I should suggest to her to ask IT to have it removed from the website.

  2. Just another question, do platinum miles still exist? I was under the impression that it doesn't anymore and that 100k elite miles earned on economy, business and/or first class flights will qualify me for Enrich Platinum. I've been trying to get a definite answer but non of the call centre agents know the answer and have thus far refused to connect me to the Enrich office in KL Sentral. On the website, there's still talk about Platinum Miles being used as a calculator for Enrich Platinum under the FAQ section and Terms & Conditions of Enrich but seeing that use of terminology such as "golden club class" suggests that it could just be outdated? It is however updated with the oneworld stuff.

  3. Just a question. I have a one way ticket from LHR-KUL-BKK. If I were to fly the LHR-KUL sector but decide to skip the KUL-BKK sector, will I still earn Enrich miles for the LHR-KUL sector? Technically, the terms and conditions of Enrich states that miles will be credited if one takes the flight, but I have concerns as I know that missing a sector in a ticket voids the e-ticket immediately. Would the voiding of my ticket disqualify me from miles accrual despite having taken the KUL-LHR flight?

  4. According to oneworld.com, they're already on the way to our mailboxes:

"....Similarly, the 125 million members of existing oneworld airlines' loyalty programmes will receive double mileage awards when flying on Malaysia Airlines between 15 February 2013 and 15 April 2013. For further details, see member airlines' websites.

The 2 million members of the Enrich programme have been mailed new membership cards, bearing theoneworld logo and the alliance's "gemstone" tier status symbol, to ensure that they receive the alliance's full range of services and benefits when travelling throughout the entire oneworld network from tomorrow...."

Here are the new designs taken from www.malaysiaairlines.com :

I also noticed that the Gold and Platinum Guesting privilege for the Golden Lounge/Platinum Lounge has been extended to a guest flying on any Malaysia Airlines/oneworld flight. It used to be restricted to passengers flying on the same flight as the cardholder.

  5. Huhuhu...if no new routes or new airline for KCH by the end of the year I...I...I don't know what I'll do...hahaha...so sad...just so sad!

Cheer up cikgu - there is so much more to life than KCH :)

For example, new school year, new students, new tuition classes, new income channels ....... :D

and let's not forget 919 Cafe's butter chicken and cangkuk manis to continue living for! sorry slightly OT :pardon:

  6. There's a thread up in A.Net asking about MND. The thread starter spotted MND still in its all white color in Heathrow on 26 January 2013. So, is there enough time for MH to give MND a full special livery body paint between 27 - 30 January 2013 before the unveiling on 31 January 2013?

Not too sure about that tbh. But, even if she isn't going to spot a full on special livery, she is going to be the first A380 ever spotting an alliance livery :clapping:

  7. Considering only the words "member of oneworld" were added much like the other oneworld liveries we've seen on air Berlin etc, maybe we're in for a special full body oneworld livery on 9M-MND much like the one on JAL's? :D I noticed that original liveries which clashed with the "member of....." words such as CX's resulted in the adaptation of the complete euro white livery. IMO, the stickers on MH's A380 wouldn't have clashed with the words, so why leave her naked for so long? I'm probably hoping for too much though, hahaha

  8. Some other information which have managed to gather:

    - Enrich is now recognising 5 other oneworld airlines as its partners - AA, CX, IB, QF and S7.

    - AF, AZ, DJ, DL, EY, KL, UL, VS and 9W are still listed as Enrich partners.

    - Finnair has published its accrual rates table for MH flights:

    First: A, F (150% booking class percentage)

    Business: C, D, J, Z (125% booking class percentage)

    Economy: Y, B, H (100% booking class percentage)

    Economy: K, M (50% booking class percentage)

    Economy: V, L, S (25% booking class percentage)

The same accrual rates have been published on the JAL website : http://www.my.jal.com/world/en/jalmile/flight/mh.html
