  1. Some lucky chap won a business class ticket on MAB's "new business class seat in 2016" to quote MAS' tweet. I guess this kinda confirms the new seats' entry only in 2016? And seeing that they're already promoting the new seat through this lucky draw, we can probably assume that they'll be revealing it soon enough too.

  2. Jump to Emerald (BA) yesterday.

Will MH check-in desk and lounge accept printed temporary card?

God knows when I will receive the card.

Your status should be reflected on your boarding pass. Physical card not needed, you just need to make sure the order of your name on your card is the same as the one you used to make your booking.

  3. Hi all,

I have a two questions about Enrich which I would like to ask all the Enrich gurus here.

    Q1)

    Let's say I bought a SIN-KUL-BKK flight:

    SIN-KUL is Q class

    KUL-BKK is K class

    Overall fare basis is QBC14DSG

I know that I will earn 25% on my SIN-KUL leg for Q class.

May I ask, will I learn 100% miles on my KUL-BKK as per K class (which is printed on my boarding pass as well) or will I learn 25% miles as per Q Fare Basis overall?

    Q2)

On another completely different trip but same route SIN-KUL-BKK:

SIN-KUL - marketed as MH5732, operated by Silkair

    KUL-BKK on MH

Ticketed by MH with MH e-ticket number of 232xxxxxxxxxx

May I ask, will I earn points and sector in my Enrich account for the SIN-KUL code share flight?

I thank everyone in advance for the kind help!

I'm no Enrich guru, but basically,

Q1) Yes, as per K class for KUL-BKK

    Q2) Yes

    Hope that helps. :)

  4.

Are you being afraid because of MH's sheer bad luck or you were just afraid of flying over the route to Europe?

I on the other hand have had tears burst from my eyes while waiting for the flight back to KUL at CDG and remembering MH 17 innocent victims. I looked around and noticed all the passengers waiting for the flight, some were business travellers while some were leisure travellers. Some were excited and having chats over the trip while some were impassive and focusing on the the books, tablets, and music with headphones over their heads. I bet it was pretty much the same scene when MH 17 passengers were waiting to board the flight but instead of boarding to paradise, they were boarding to hell! I couldn't help with the sour feeling and let out my tears and prayed silently for the victims and for this flight.

I'm sure you didn't mean it as it may seem to some like myself but I hardly think the victims of either planes have ended up in hell...

  5. Wish we can see one day MH deploying A380 on domestic route. My brother recently did Guangzhou-Beijing with CZ A380. Boarding was very swiftly done even though the flight was packed to the brim.

F & B were distributed efficiently and effectively as well.

They should send the A380 to KCH, we're surprisingly A380-ready in terms of runway length.

Sayang :( KCH nice place to go eat Kolo mee :)

You mean, THE ONLY place to eat nice kolo mee :acute:

  6. Guys, do you know if it is possible to change to an earlier flight if i am holding an Enrich redemption ticket with an onward connecting flight at the first destination ?

I intend to redeem a one-way ticket from KUL to NRT in September with a transit at BKI.

    MH2626 22:10 00:50+1 KUL-BKI

    MH080 07:40+1 14:20 BKI-NRT

Is it possible if i want to change to an earlier flight from KUL to BKI ? Say i want to change to an afternoon flight at no extra charge ? Thanks.

A change is possible for USD20 I believe.

  7.

In SQ's case they are stingy i concede, but even at the standard level the price of a redemption seat can be reasonable, the upgrade generally less so. SQ protects the exclusivity of its F cabin because its a product that some actually do pay for. In C they are more reasonable.

As far as LH are you looking for an F or a C seat?

Actually my complaint is 2 fold.

1 i think its foolish MH does not release more seats for partner redemption.

2 while i concede for its own members MAS does have seats for redemption the complaint there is the cost in points is unreasonable, and recently moved in the wrong direction when the airline isnt flying with anything close to decent loads so why piss of customers who have been loyal to you when the opportunity cost of the redemption seat effectively when down.

As has been said earlier, the recent devaluation was to keep MH in line with the industry's standards. Previously, one could redeem KUL-LHR one way in J for only 46750 miles, which is obviously insanely low! Enrich miles in itself is also probably seen as a liability to MH when it's in the hands of you and I.

As for partner redemptions, I haven't had any problems finding MH award availability through BA in either J or F.

  8.

It is a shame to generalise - but it happens in every large organisation - the good will get tarred along with the useless in one general broad sweeping statement in an effort label them.

If the 6000 don't go, 20000 don't have a job. What i'm wondering is precisely how MH is going to select the 6000.

I have done restructurings, and the legalities behind labor law are tricky. In the end - when i did it - it was based off a totally transparent and objective points system with NO room for ambiguity based off a past 5 year performance ratings/attendance/disciplinary/awards matrix

Some not so good people stayed, some good people had to go as a result of this (although they were the exceptions rather than the rule) - in the end, NOBODY went to the IR department to say "Suzanne pilih kasih la... she likes A but doesn't like me" Nobody went because they couldn't - factual numbers were input into a computer - numbers came out and selected "winners"

I hope MH is doing this instead of one-two-zoom playground style.

It all makes sense now, Suzanne. You're exactly like George Clooney in Up in the Air!

  9. I believe that would be the tier that I was initially talking about. They might have changed the name to Platinum Plus instead of Platinum Prestige or i might have read the welcome letter wrongly but the benefits are certainly the ones i was talking about.

A quick question though did you receive your renewal pack via courier or normal post. I seem to remember that Platinum welcome packs were sent by courier service but i had an overseas address last time. Im still waiting for mine to arrive after 2 weeks of seeing card upgrade on my account.

Mine was sent by courier, just as it was last year. Received a text from DHL, was able to track it. I live in Edinburgh though.

  10. Thanks for that. Just saw it - by and large it cost more than yesterday :p (except ADL maybe)

That to me is actually poorly written. So the one day you fly one Y segment does that mean you get kicked out? :p Bit harsh right?

    I guess that's what MHUpgrade's for; "Affordable-Y-avoidance-prophylaxis". :pardon:

Having seen Sofian's screenshots, I also couldn't help but notice different coloured statements.

    This is mine:

    And Sofian's:

    enrich%202015_zpsxiaoa5q3.png

I noticed it changing in January but didn't think much of it.

So I guess you're an Enrich Platinum Plus member if you have a dark-blue-black e-statement. :acute:

  11. Just received my Platinum pack today. Other than the usual perks of E-Plat, there was a bit about my "continued loyalty" being rewarded with "35% elite tier bonus (versus the regular 30%) and bonus additional 1000 enrich miles with every 10,000 earned" having met the 100k tier miles / 150 sectors criteria. I wonder if this is a new Plat perk? There wasn't any mention about me being an "Enrich Platinum Prestige" member which Henry previously highlighted. I did notice, however, the term "Platinum miles" being used and when comparing the reference on the top of the letters, I now had "UG_PLTP" versus "UG_PLAT" when I first qualified. An email to the Enrich higher ups revealed this:

"Initially, members had to earn 150,000 Platinum miles (by travel on first/business class only on Malaysia Airlines flights) for three consecutive years, accumulating to 450,000 Platinum miles in the third year, to qualify for the Platinum status.

In 2012 and prior to joining oneworld, the management reviewed the entire program and qualifying criteria. Instead of restricting to only Platinum miles (by travel on first/business classes) , the management decided to open the miles earned for all classes (first/business and economy) to enable members to reach the higher tier status faster. This opened the doors to many Enrich Gold members who flew quite extensively with us but with the initial requirement, were never able to reach the Platinum status as they travelled and earned miles in mixed classes.

Thus, a new qualifying criteria was introduced with:

Enrich Blue members required to achieve 25,000 Elite miles/ 30 Elite sectors (previously 40 Elite sectors) per calendar year to qualify for Enrich Silver

Enrich Silver members required to achieve 50,000 Elite miles/50 Elite sectors (previously 80 Elite sectors) per calendar year to qualify for Enrich Gold

Enrich Gold members required to achieve 100,000 Elite miles / 130 Elite sectors (previously 80 Elite miles/120 Elite sectors) per calendar year to qualify for Enrich Platinum

We still have our Elite Platinum members who still fly with us solely on first/business class. To keep track of this elite members, we had categorized and classified them as Platinum Plus members. They are known under this category for our internal record purposes only and not published to the public.

    We trust the above clarifies."

I clocked 150k+ tier miles last year, a mix of oneworld airlines though. So very confusing.

  12. Well, they did post something on facebook about exciting offers coming up on the inception date of the changes i.e. 16th Feb. Let's hope it's going to be a whole year long 50% off redemption promotion. *dreaming* :lazy:

Also, the new Maybank rates apparently do not apply to their visa infinite cards. Phew!

  13. s

Can anyone advise me in which booking-class the Economy fares (Basic, Smart, Flex) are booked by MH ?

It does not reflect this information on the website, and I need this for my mileage accruel (of another Oneworld partner).

    Thanks for your help !

Just look at the fare conditions at the summary page just before the passenger details page. It's a small hyperlink on the right hand side. The first alphabet you see is the fare class booked into.
