  1. the story ive heard from MAS staff and its own Turnaround dept :

" the problem with MAS is not that it is run by idiots. Actually, the management , staff and AJ all know what needs to be done to improve MAS.

However, at the end of the day, everything needs to be signed and approved by some higher up in gomen. These fellas know nothing bout running an airline, but get to call all the shots.

This is the most frustrating thing. Knowing what needs to be done, but not being allowed to because of government interference watching out for their own private interests. "

  2. at over 600 planes on order for Lion Air, thats comparable to the industry giants Delta, AA, Lufthansa, etc..

of course, Lion Air's is all narrowbodies, but still a feat given that the LCC leaders of today, eg. Ryanair, Southwest, dont even have as much on their order books.

Think this is all a reflection of the future of economic growth being in SEA. Will be interesting to see these two giants Lion Air and AirAsia X duke it out in the near future. May the best airline win.

Now waiting for AirAsia's PR response. Maybe topping up with another order of 300 airplanes from Bombardier C Seris? kekekkee....

  3. what is the point of maintaining the batavia brand? i hope it doesnt turn into some freak hybrid mandala tiger. ugliest permanent livery in the world.

the whole point of airasia doing acquisition is to fast expand the airasia image. thats why the vietnam jv didnt work out, cause vietnam gomen didnt allow airasia name, and tony would not compromise. so i dont see why tony will compromise on this either.

for now he will say, yeah yeah batavia remain. then slowly after one year or so, he will change it.

just like how he say AA hq never truly move to jakarta. and then now Air Asia Asean is there.

  4. Sigh our neighbours up north and down south are already utilizing 777-300ER to the max n MH is still runnin around not knowin what needs to be done....

MH come on, if the likes of TG, SQ, PR, NZ, VN already have 777-300ER in their inventory n milkin it to the max.......what r u waitin for.....

Raymond, for MH no point getting 777-300ER. Those airlines have already utilized their aircraft to the point that further efficiency can only be achieved by getting new aircraft.

We cant even fully utilize our 777-200s whats the point of getting 777-300s will be more waste of taxpayers money.

  5. Wai Ping, I have camp from 16th to 21th... by the time I came back I think you already ahead of me.. lolx

Christopher, CX Trader and the CX Ori Livery. what else? hahahaaa

CORRECT...now next month january i am waiting for the new airasia a330 ok.... and all the other airasia livery still not released ......i also dont mind mh 744 hajj livery....

  6. Sorry to detract from the issue, but Tony your latest A330 livery of Now Everyone Can Fly to Malaysia is fugly as hell.

Returning to the issue at hand, Tony why not paint one of your aircraft in a smear campaign against MAHB? Use the aircraft body to voice your struggle to the world. I am guessing this plane will be banned from Malaysia, but AirAsia is big now good move on moving to Jakarta, hope you will get less bs from the Indons.

  7. The giant has warned about the now confirmed delay of the A350. I hope MH can at least learn on how EK plan their fleet, looks very systematic, timely and no flip flopping.

impossible. as long as the CEO flip flops so too will the airlines LT plans. any bets on how long jauhari will last?

  8. The environment in Msia does not really promote "healthy competition".

yup agreed. how to compete healthily in MSIA?

Put it simply, it has been a long time since MAS has brought any positive image of our country. They lag behind Thai and SIA without a doubt, and are such an embarassment.

AirAsia on the other hand, has put our country in the global spotlight. Even Queen E give Tony CBE, French dude give Tony highest civilian award for purcahsing Airbus.

AirAsia is promoting Malaysia so much more than MAS ever did for the past 10 years. So dont be sad. Let it die. We can always fondly remember it in our hearts, the days when it was the sole carrier that over 80% ofMalaysiains couldnt afford to fly, including me. Oh wait, so looks like there is nothing fond to rmeember of MAS after all.

If we are so fond of that WAU logo, I am sure TOny would oblige to paint one of his aircraft with a Red and White wau logo tailfin, as a tribute to his enemy which he killed from the inside.

  9. Agreed........however all of us hope one day we can eat back what we said about MH as I'm sure we all want MH to be back to their glory days but its still nowhere to be seen ....

No I dont want MH to go back to their glory days. I want that Wau to stop flying completely, and all their planes repainted in AirAsia colors, or any other airline colors, or sold as scrap metal.

MAS is a good representation of everything wrong with the business climate of this country. Like other GLCs, it is just another one of the political chess pieces for the current regime's cronies to move endlessly around the board.

There is nothing wrong with MAS management, they are not stupid, they know what is wrong with the carrier, and they know how to fix it. The problem is they are NOT ALLOWED to, as they have to answer to higher ups in government, who dont know jack about airlines, but make the ultimate decisions on everything.

SO Please, stop bashing MAS staff. Pity them, and tell them to quit their jobs and seek better futures. The sooner this Wau comes down, the better for all of us.

Some people say that Skytrax will be shamed if they downgrade MH 5 star rating, but I think it will actually gain back its value and reputation as a truly independent authority. Right now Skyrax review is just bollocks too. I'd rather take many other non 5 star airlines than the so called 5 stars of Skytrax.
