This is too expensive to be just a standby aircraft. But with just one, kinda weird to slot it into regular scheduling.

The ownership rules require a full citizenship no? Surely holders of OCI do not qualify if it equates to just a green card status?

They have their 3 class A380 for their flagship routes which has 1-2-1 J seats. I can live with their 2-3-2 777 if they offer lower J fares than the others

Hows the cabin after all this while? As much as I am happy for the 744 to be flying pax again, I wont be happy if I booked the flight expecting the A388 but instead seeing the 744 at the gate. I hope they tell those pax in advance.

They did a round of upgrading to the toilets at the Main Terminal Building before this. But curiously left out all the other toilets at satellite and contact pier in the same state as they were back in 1998

Malaysia can never get a break when it comes to this. Even that D7 Bali double medical emergency incident was widely reported by the Australian media.

Have never been to an airshow. After looking at the pics and words about the Sukhoi's, suddenly feeling the urge to make a daytrip down to SG on Saturday.
Thoughts on that? Worth it? Not even sure how to plan an itinerary like how long to spend there etc. Any suggestions appreciated!
Worth it if you are going just for the acrobatic displays. Not worth it if you are visiting the static displays as the queue will be really long and some of the planes will be gone tomorrow. BTW I just checked, there are still tickets for public days. I distinctly remember in 2014 it was sold out about a week before. Not sure if less people buying or they are admitting more visitors this year

-- Wrong postCruise missile and SAM flight envelope and target acquisition is different.

Not really. I know of some who find it difficult to adjust especially those with families staying back in Malaysia. The singles ones meanwhile are having the time of their life. After they found a greener pastures, they would wish to have discovered it earlier.
Good for them.

That's the direction most carriers go nowadays. Intricate tail, euro white base and a simple title at the front. Perhaps just Malaysian? That's the best compromise between style and weight saving

Hard to imagine somebody with airside access willing to risk his career and do something like that.Allegedly due to cracked windshield while nightstopping in LGK, so claimed the CEO in Malaysiakini website. Investigating if there are elements of sabotage...

Relax lah cikgu. I was on KUL KIX via SGN yesterday. Flights were full because of CNY but otherwise everything was okAnd I am booked on VN to ICN via HAN...I hope nothing will go wrong...

I will only use ERL if I need to utilise the city check in. Otherwise I'm a big fan of the busses.

Boeing can only look with envy. IR will be Airbus exclusive for many, many years to come thanks to Uncle Sam. We will soon have ME4 if they can get everything right

Some pictures I've found on Twitter:
These guys went through a lot especially when handling the MH17 tragedy last time. I guess they were really wishing MH won't give up on AMS. Here's hoping that we will see the wau again at Schiphol in the not too distant future

I like it. And they still have the dragon near the door. CX's brand power is so strong that it is logical for them to strengthen it even more

Im fairly new here, seldom post things here also. Was wondering any difference between Trade days and Public days? especially in terms of flying display. Interested to go and snap some pictures from there. Best if can tag along with some Malaysianwings member here to guide me as well.
If you can go for the trade days, by all means please go. Much less crowded, more planes and all booths open. On public days people will be crawling all over the place, queues will snake to all the planes on static display, some booths will be empty as they sometimes pack up after the last trade day and also most passenger jets will depart back on the last trade day. Most if not all military ones will stay till the end. ROKAF Black Eagles should perform on both public days. I don't expect the A350 to stay

I wonder why they stood down the Black Knights after the SG50 celebration

This will strengthen WLG's case to extend their runway. The plan is to add 350m to the south into Lyall Bay by reclamation.

With the marriage with EK I wonder why they didnt just go full UAE and sell it to dnata instead.
-
Low on cash probably. Their forward bookings have dipped last I heard. Their sales are no longer as attractive as they were a few years back resulting in many people not willing to commit to buying tickets so many months in advanceNot good at all... they want to collect all these fees up front nowadays. They are cash hungry.

Is Benyamin a full CEO already? I thought he is still the interim..

Emirates yesterday (05JAN16) has revised planned Airbus A380 operations between January and March 2016, which sees service changes for following routes.Dubai – Amsterdam eff 01FEB16 EK149/150 operated by 3-class A380, replacing 777-300ER (Overall 2 daily A380 operation)
Dubai – Bangkok 15JAN16 – 08FEB16 EK370/371 operated by 2-class A380, replacing 777-300ER (Overall 5 daily A380 and 1 daily 777-300ER operation)
Dubai – Dallas/Ft. Worth eff 01FEB16 Airbus A380 service replaced by Boeing 777-300ER
Dubai – Kuala Lumpur 15JAN16 – 08FEB16 EK342/343 operated by 3-class A380, replacing 2-class aircraft -
What was the problem? Maybe it was KLIA's fault? My last flight with EK had problems too. They announced that our baggage will be about one hour plus late to arrive at the carousel.Over the new year, my brother took two flights on MH - LHR to KUL and KUL to CDG.
He noted that the flights are fairly full and most of the passengers are Malaysian looking. There was a distinct reduction in the number of westerners on the MH flights.
He had problems with his luggage at KLIA and he has said that his next trip will not be with MH.

They are also wet leasing their A333 to AirAsia for KUL BKI route. So BKI will see their A333 on a regular basis at least until June 12th.
