  1. 1. For students, cheaper take Sibu-Mukah ferry.

    2. As for spotting, better the kampung-like atmosphere at the current airport. Friendly staff mean it is easier to request apron entrace for photo shoot.

    3. Refer to Radzi's comment. Its all about 'Cahaya'

  2. Too young then to know about that but I do know he tried to flirt with a close relative on board MAS first class BKI-KUL by handing out wads of M$1000 notes.

I think I saw on RTM news sometime last year the Sultan of Kelantan came back from a holiday abroad on board the BBJ. Perhaps the sultans can charter them?

You don't have to be a Sultan to charter a MAS plane, as long as got lots of $$$$$.

    So entertaining.................

Of course. What more can you expect, Datin Seri Rosmah flying to London on AirAsia X (not the XL seats)?

  3. Our MiG29 have even dogfighted with USAF F15 (based in Japan). I believe most air force wouldn't want to miss a chance to exercise with USAF/US Navy.

But I'm more interested to know the outcome of RMAF Hawk 100/200 exercise with USNavy FA18. Its really like David vs Goliath.

RSAF is luckier, they get to participate in Red Flag Exercise in the US. Of course, that is exclusively for totally pro-US country only.

RMAF Su30MKM is however off-limit at the moment to foriegn air force possibly due to limited operational status.

Ya. I think the US Navy retired the F-14 last year. Maybe they realised they are not as good as the MIGs. :p

Come to think of it most of the time when there is a conflict, it's always US vs Russia/China. Take Korea i.e. US made Sabre vs Soviet made MIG-21, Gulf War Iraq used mainly Soviet era tanks and missiles, and Vietnam. Has anyone come across conflict where it's US weapon vs US weapon?

Greece F16 vs Turkey F16 over Cyprus border conflict. And life were loss due to collision during dogfight, although I'm not sure which side.

Indonesian F16 vs US Navy FA18 over Java Sea, which resulted in the Indonesian F16 being locked on by USN FA18, however no missile/bullets were fired.

A bigger possibility is US made, locally modified F14, F5E, F4 by Iran vs US/Israel if things get out of hand in the Middle East. Hope it doesn't happen though.

  4. What kind of statement is this?

If the government wants the SLIGHTEST chance of improving its current image, it should be carrying out initiatives such as this as well as others related to other industries.

Are such exercises classified as Top Secret? I'm sure many kampung-folk around Gong Kedak get a free show whenever the jets blast up into the air...and they sure don't have T.S clearance.

    Imran,

Must have enjoyed many free Sukhoi-30MKM airshow during your recent Perhentian trips... and yup, those SU30 pilots love to pull a 9G over Perhentian

  5. Eddy should be more active like Idris Jala & Tony Fernandes.

FY should operate the golden route rather than

nonprofit route. Maybe DSIJ must train Eddy more

    I agree with Sofian.

Firefly must also be creative in their marketing approach without spending too much $$$. They call themself a community airline, then get joint venture with the community-lah

  6. Usually a megaproject in Malaysia should be named after the royals, for example "Sultan Mizan International Airport"

But in the case of KLIA, I agree for it to be named "Tun Dr Mahathir International Airport"

No, I'm not a fan of Tun Dr M, but in this case, I believe he deserves it.

As for Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al Haj, we already have Putrajaya and Universiti Putra Malaysia

The thing is, people dont want to change from what they used to. Legacy. Me included.

Suvarnabhumi and JFK (and the rest) were being named the first day the airport appeared. People can accept it while it is new. But not like simply wanted to change to something else from what people used to. What was Ali Rustam thinking? Like giving Dato' title to someone and being used to called by it? Gila!

Dear friends, this guy is aiming for UMNO Deputy Presidency, and in automatically for BN, the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia.

You see, the more the rakyats hate a particular UMNO leader, the more popular the person is in UMNO. That is UMNO's logic!

Many Malaysian may hate/despise Najib, but I was in the Malay heartland of Terengganu yesterday, a Felda village where Najib is hero/saviour to many.

  7. For Air Asia to sponsor Manchester United or any other team I don't mind.

But for TNB to sponsor MU or even any team outside Malaysia, be it in UK or Zimbabwe, it is totally rubbish. If TNB really goes ahead, I'm sure it will cause public uproar (and I hope it does). But what more can you say, TNB's CEO has just been voted 'CEO of the Year', must be head over heel that guy is!

  8. Naim,

May I suggest you make this an issue by writing letter to national press and send a copy to Firefly. Hope their management wake up to the fact many Malaysian below 18 years old are mature enough to travel alone (I'm sure teenagers flying alone doesn't belong to the Mat Rempit group). To add weight to your issue, why not ask the school (MRSM Pengkalan Chepa?) to provide supporting letter.
