HMMMMM, this is a place I've never been before. Although I can make out the location of this place, but don't know how to get there by car. I thought all these while have to park at MTB and do a 500m walk (+ crossing busy highways) to this place. Hope to join you guys one day to go to this place.

Thanks for the photos and trip report. I love the A340600 steep climb. They never do that in LIMA. And nice photo of PAris City Hall. Too bad Paris lost by 2 votes.

To show off that he is the longest 'serving' Chief Minister in Malaysia and that he can do anything he wants with Sarawak, including its hard earned money the Sarawak citizen pay through various taxes and Pak Lah can do nothing about it!!!!!!!

Don't any of you misses the good old days of film? Sometimes I'm pretty darn near to purchase that old NikonF3 with just a simple 50mm lens and load it with Fuji Velvia 50. Because that was how i started photography, with my uncle's F3 with 50mm lens and slide film and a walkaround KL. And I'm still amazed at the photos I produced. On a side note, the Canon AE1 is also an excellent one.

No problem. Got RM20K will buy a Sigma 300-800mm lens for such shots

Imran,SBW is half and hour flight away from KCH. If u use bus or express boat, it'll take u around 6 hours. Traffic in Sibu is boooooring unless u want to spot and take pics of F50s outdoor close to u.
If u cannot come to SBW, never mind. I'll go to KL for work on 23/8/04 till 27/8/04 (Sat) afternoon or evening. Then i'll stay in KL for the following 2 or 3 days. After that, i'll go to S'pore. So, still can meet u in KUL.
Imran, I recomend you go by boat. That is the way to experience Sarawak style travel. There are not much place in Asia where you can travel safely by boat to the interior. Or maybe go by boat, then go back by plane.

I also noticed that u were using ISO 200 . is there a lower setting for it ? maybe if u use a lower ISO it will be less grainy .. and perhaps using AUTO or Personal AE would be a better choice compared to aperture priority . Just try to experiment around a little bit . i'm sure you can produce much much nicer shots than thatYes ISO 200. That is the lowest ISO in my Finepix. As to Aperture Priority, I love it. No way I'm gonna use 'Full Auto'. I also avoid Program AE. But then again, my Finepix is just a point and shoot. Aperture limited from F2.8 to F8.0 only.
I'll email the SQ photo when i got the time for it. Thanks Gavin,

there must be something wrong with your camera settings or you're editing the images wrongly because it looks ... strange ? i dont know la ... hmmm .. there's just something about it .. its so greeeeeeen ... and so jaggy ... u sharpened it too much i think .. and then i think you can also try using Paint shop pro and change the colour temperature ..I think so. Maybe. I'm not good at this editing thing. Wish someone else do the editing. I just love to photograph in the field, not editing in the room.
And I don't like the noise level of this camera, too much. But I love its colours.

Gavin,
Fujifilm Finepix S7000. Our camera are siblings. Yours are the 'abang', mine the 'adik'. Still saving $$$ for a DSLR.
These photos were taken at 210mm (35mm equivalent) settings. They are all cropped then resized.

Hi there everyone. This is my first post here on MalaysianWings Forum.
These are my photos on my solo spotting at 14L and soon photos during spotting with Azahan, Imran, Norman (with family) and Nizam on the 3rd of July 2005.
9M-MKU
I'll post more info and photos later. Haven't edited them all yet, just arrived from KL last night.
Norman,
Love your shot of the Xiamen and AK with the 3 girls. It really demonstrate the FZ5 Lieca sharpness and very, very effective OIS with panning mode.
Of course, the photographer is important also

I still use film too. Just added a new Canon film SLR to my small photographic gear. If I'm not careful, I can finish a roll of film in less than 9 seconds during spotting time. However I rarely print them. I usually ask the fuji/kodak shop to scan them into JPEG after processing.
