  1. I'll suggest :

    "Malaysian Non-DSLR Spotters"

For those with camera phone, binoculars, point and shoot camera... I'll say we make Imran :clapping: the head of the pack since he has the best non-DSLR camera out there... FZ30... and some were accepted by A.net (kipas kipas kipas Imran... hope to get free Beriyani  )

    Another group :

    "Malaysian Casual Spotters"

For those families 'lepaking' at runway perimeters, including some 'lovebirds' around Obs Hill!

    Another group :

    "Anti Spotters Group"

Dedicated to MAB Patrol who chase away spotters from Obs Hill and other locations... "for security reasons"... your Bigma looks like a bazooooka!!!

  2. Congratulation JonKong, Norman and Raymond :drinks: . I like the most is Raymond photo of Rajang River's ferry. MW is making a present everywhere. And DCM is my favourite Malaysia based photography magazine. Nice to see non DSLR photos winning too... It really is a magazine written by photographer for photographer. Some other magazine focus too much on equipment (because they are written by geeks and techies rather than real photographers). However, as in Perlis, its also hard to find it in Penang. Luckily I drive to KL nearly once or twice a week. :D

  3. First catch for lunch... a big one :D

    IPB Image

Again... football is really heating up

    IPB Image

    Check-out the petals... love it..

These two shots are really the winning shots...

Norman, tarak mau try your nasib in DCM competition ka? (kalau masih buka entry, bukan ke topik kali ini ialah transport ke? Mana tau boleh repeat Faizal punya kemenangan!)

  4. Even the pilots are great. For the first time ever in my many years of flying, an AK Captain stood to greet boarding passengers, and again during disembarkation on AK 5211 KCH-KUL last 20 April. Makes passengers feel their business is appreciated, and I will gladly fly with them again.

MH's pilot also greets me when boarding and disembarking the plane, well, they even talk to me during flight............when I'm the only 1 of 2 passengers in their Twin Otter flight :p

  5. Hmm... when I am browsing the net in the middle of the night, how do I convince my wife that I am really looking at a plane-spotting website??

Well done guys for this complete coverage! Makes me very proud to be a member of Mwings!

Yaaah, I have to be careful also when browsing this section... mana tau wife sneak from behind  ...kantoi...mampos aku

  6. Thanks Mudzaffar, it answers a lot of questions.

The F15 have been here for quite some time and their flying is a-w-e-s-o-m-e B) . I've seen MiG29, FA18, F16, SU27, Tornado, F111 and some others fly above the RMAF airbase, but none quite like the spectacular F15.

I think the next air exercise between the RMAF and USAF in 2008 possibly will feature the RMAF SU30MKM ;) . The question is, will the USAF bring their F22 then? Well... I think they just won't! :(

That apparently is also the question I want to ask. Is that a sign RMAF is going to buy F-15?

Nope, and the RMAF doesn't even want to buy F15. Main reason apart from cost, politics and clearence(from US government) is that Singapore is buying some 18 F15E.

And why is Singapore buying it, well, mainly to counter Malaysia's SU30MKM.

Its a never ending arms race between the two neighbour.

  7. Norman,

Lens focal range equivalent to 590mm on a 35mm format with image stabilisation but a bit noisy sensor!!!

    Pieter,

Thanks for the info on the Japanese base origin. I don't know where 'ZZ' is from.

    Min Chun,

Sorry for no Hornet pics... I'll try to get one for you soon.

    Ibrahim,

Yes they are sugarcane, planted by local farmers. Good hiding place for spotters from RMAF control tower binoculars.

    Radzi,

I'm 'wet-dreaming' of a 30D everynight, but sometimes darkside D200 also appears in the dreams... My bed getting wetter!!! hahahahaha.

  8. First it was an unfamiliar sound...

Then it dissappeared as quickly as it appeared...

    IPB Image

A short time later it landed on Runway 8 at WMKB

    The two seater USAF F15D

    IPB Image

    Then turning to into taxiway

    IPB Image

    Heading to hangar

    IPB Image

    Then came the F15C version

    IPB Image

Heading towards hangar with radar at the background

    IPB Image

Suddenly a familiar sound... ohh, its just a Hawk 100 trainer... How would it be like if it were to dogfight with the F15?

    IPB Image

  9. Or would it be a issue of PDF and make it online for oversea members like me?

    :p

I agree to a PDF format. That way save time, cost and logistics factor. Anybody interested can simply download it. But I suggest a full colour ONCE A YEAR PRINTED AND SOLD IN THE STREET Malaysianwings Yearbook. It could be titled "MALAYSIAN AVIATION 2006/07 BY MALAYSIANWINGS.COM".
