  1. I wonder why the passengers are not allowed to disembarked the aircraft if the engine cant be shut down? Any reason? Well, seems like AIRBUS planes have encounter lots of trouble lately...

Nothing should go near a running aircraft engine - neither vehicles or prople. Suicide man...

And ak is using staircase, right? No aerobridge. No way anyone is disembarking on stairs with engines running!

And even if with aerobridge, foreign objects can get sucked into the engine from lose items on aerobridges. You dont want that to happen, dont u... :nea:

  2. I dont know what happen here..it seems like MAS staff are unhappy with the management, bad days for MAS huh? It's time for MAS to review the fleet now...especially the B737400S? I wonder when they will announce the fleet renewal for the B737?

  4. That's not alodine. That is CPC or CIC, Corrosion Preventive (Inhibitive) Compound.

Nice pics Jerry, but careful with your digicam.

Thx sam, i was quoting one of the A&C guys. I'm doing E&I.

Anyway, i'm always careful with my digicam. As a wallaper, i'm always very alert of my cam...so far i've got over a hundred shots already, and i always find the right time & place to click click! Dont worry Sir! And dont report me ok... :) Hardly see any pics from u lately...

  5. Enjoying these pics plenty - thanks !

Any idea what are those brownish stains under the nose cone ? Cannot possibly be be rust ?!

Oh, thats Alodine. Didn't expect u to notice it! LOL!!! Its a chemical spreayed on the fwd pressure bulkhead, used to protect it from corrosion. Mostly used on bolts, nuts, washers, and screws, especially joints. :)

  7. Jerry, nice explanation... so the next time u check these babies at the hangar, dont forget the pins kekeke... and if u do remember those safety pins, if they are extras.. u know what to do ya??? :clapping:

HAHAHA...i knew u wud say that! Shhhh....dont leak out! of coz i know wat to do...

  8. There is a safety mechanism called a WEIGHT SWITCH. Wonder what happened there..

Well, abit of technical story here...

The weight switch Sanjay was talking about is actually the Air-Ground Sensor. Its a sensor which senses if the aircraft is either on ground or in the air (Ground Mode or Air Mode). Location...somewhere at the main landing gear.

However, this sensor can be disabled so that the aircraft registers Air Mode although its on ground. It can only be done by Engineering & Maintenance Crew.

For safety reasons, there are Safety Pins(the one with REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT flag) inserted on each landing gear strut. Just like a safety pin on a fire extinguisher, it prevents the gear to retract if the Air-Ground Sensor is disabled, and the gear lever is pulled up.

In this picture, I suppose the ground crew was unaware of the safety pin on the nose gear, and maybe maintenance crew disabled the Air-Ground Sensor. And at such a coincedence, the lever was pulled up. BANG!!!
