Leaving LHR will be the biggest mistake MH could make. I don't see the sense in it. I would expect D7 to fly into LGW though.

About bloody time!
-
1-1 would be dreaming when we don't even have a proper 1-2-1 on the A330s!
-
I think there'd be a reduced number of business class seats if they want to have lie-flat seats on the 737MAX. I can't see a 1-1 configuration but perhaps 2-2 or even a 1-2 seating configuration with 3 rows only.

In the latest edition of Going Places (December edition), Peter Bellew has stated that they are planning to have lie-flat business seats on the 737MAX when they start being delivered in 2019.
That is excellent news, especially since they are planning on using the 737MAX on lots of regional routes, which involves flights of up to 5 or even 6 hours. Finally some forward thinking from MH! Let's just hope they decide to increase the seat pitch on the 737MAX in economy to 32".
I'm assuming that they will have different configurations for domestic flights. Recliners in business class for flights under 3 hours is fine but economy seat pitch needs to be at least 31".

Do these people actually pay for their F seats? If the airline is getting actual money for them, then fine. I don't have a problem with it but I do have a problem with VIPs who think they are entitled to it and feel they shouldn't have to pay for it.For someone who speaks of "commercial sense" with such confidence, you sure know how to contradict yourself.
Demand for F exists, especially to/from LHR. Doing away with F will not make those VIPs settle for J. Who gains? Hint: Not MH.
-
Well, too bad for them!
-
I highly doubt that the A350s will have First Class. It makes absolutely no commercial sense. It will be a 3-class layout of J, Y+ and Y.
-
I would definitely fly MH over BA between KUL and LHR.
-
The minimum pitch for a proper Y+ product would have to be at least 36" and the width should be wider than the normal Y seat, so 2-4-2 on the A350 would work well.
-
It would make more sense to fit out the A350s with J, Y+ and Y. Why have F only on one route?
-
Hey guys. Can someone please confirm how many points are needed to upgrade to business from SYD to LHR? I think it's 60000 as it looks like Zone 7.
-
KLIA2 should always have been named T2.
-
36 inches
Thanks, Suzanne!
-
How much is the pitch exactly in rows 9 and 10 on the refurbished aircraft?
-
Definitely 3 A380s needed for the double daily KUL-LHR flights. I don't understand why MH doesn't make use of the spare A380 frames for peak periods of travel like the summer holidays in Australia. SQ is pretty flexible with their aircraft use during peak seasons to capitalise on this.
-
Are they behind schedule? I thought they were aiming to complete the A330 refurbishment by Sep/Oct. Looks like it won't be completely finished until Dec if there's 5 more to go.
-
That number of 8% doesn't look right even if you include the ME3 that fly their 1-stop service between KUL & LHR.
-
I'm pretty sure those proposed ULR flights from Australia to LHR will have half of the cabin as J and a a quarter as F with the remaining cabin as W. Needs to be high yield for it to be profitable.
-
Paying MYR2 to get between KLIA and KLIA2 is nothing! Try transferring in SYD between international and domestic terminals. You'll be paying AUD5.50 (about MYR 16)!
-
I would never expect the cabin crew to help me put my hand luggage in the overhead bin. It's the passenger's responsibility and if the passenger makes it too heavy, then it's their problem and not anyone else's. Simple as that.

Seriously...what are they smoking?! After that horrendous devaluation of the Enrich programme last year, there's another devaluation just 1.5 years later? Need I remind the people behind Enrich that the primary purpose of a frequent flyer programme is to foster loyalty and not to destroy it? And their reasons behind this decision makes absolutely no sense whatsoever!

Good to see that MAB is planning ahead for once!

I love the A380 and I really hope it stays. I know most people prefer the direct aisle access for a business class seat but the J seats on MH's A380s are very comfortable. It's probably the most comfortable of all the J seats I've tried. It doesn't feel claustrophobic and the seat is wide enough for me to sleep comfortably on my side. I wasn't really able to do that on QF, VA (new J) or AC on my recent travels. I suspect I will have the same issue with MH's new A330 J seats.

MH will completely lose me as a customer on flights to Europe as I like transiting through LHR and it's also a convenient airport for me when I visit London.
