  1. I guess EK has mentioned that they will use the A380 to KUL, perhaps during the summer schedules where it is considered a peak season. If we are lucky, perhaps even QATAR, SIA and LUFTHANSA occassionaly, who knows, peak seasons are always full of surprises.

    Unlikely.

  3. Satelite is nice, so many feature-

    1) You can ride train

    2)You can see forest

    3) ?????????

It sux if your international flights disembark at MTB :(

Believe MAB and MH emphasized too much on tourists and neglected business travelers. KUL is probably the only airport constructed in the 1990’s with satellite terminal and train.

Train ride and forest is nice for tourists but business travelers need speedy baggage delivery, quick boarding, etc. If time permit, travelers can always take the train to satellite for duty free shopping.

Don’t understand why we can’t be more efficient.

  4.

Believe few Malaysians take European airlines (LH, OS, KL) to the US. Understand to the US West coast, MH, SQ, KE, BR, CX, CA, NW (via NRT) are favourite. For East coast, MH, SQ, TG and CX are preferred.

NW may extend their service to KUL from SIN if aircraft idling time at SIN allowed, else load from KUL doesn’t justify KUL/NRT/USA route.

Unlike Government owned airlines, most airlines decide which route to serve on profitability. In the current era of Alliance, and hub and spoke model, as KUL has limited market potential and is better served by code share, Alliance or extension from BKK or SIN.

  5.

Since AK has moved to LCCT, MH should move their international flights to contact pier for the convenient of transit passengers and save cost. It doesn’t matter make sense to operate two terminals at home base, where there is plenty of slots available at contact pier.

  6. With Finnair coming to KUL, whose next, heard Aer Lingus interested to start KUL, when Etihad going to announce their maiden flight, I hope what they say back then doesn't stay that day only just to please us.......

Etihad will put KUL online when they receive more aircrafts.

Doubt there is enough load for Aer Lingus unless they use KUL as a refuelling stop for Kangaroo route like OS.

  7.

Asia Pacific airline failed not because of the Fairchild metro they were using. From day one, Asia Pacific airline routes and schedule didn’t match their targeted customers.

Believe most Malaysians don’t have a chance to experience RJ, hence have the wrong perception on RJ.

Personally prefer RJ over A320 or 737 on short haul as boarding and de-boarding time is shorter and has ‘the executive jet’ feel. I believe MH should be using RJ instead of 734 on many domestic routes.

  8. Mtrans Tech ready to start KLIA monorail work

MTRANS Technology Bhd is ready to develop an 11km connection from the KL International Airport (KLIA) terminal to Sepang International F1 Circuit and the Low-Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT).

Why not tram? As it is cheaper to build and operate than monorail beside there is plenty of land available for double tracks. B)

  9.

A major obstacle for foreign airlines operating to KUL is about half of Malaysian population don’t travel on foreign airlines because of uncertain halal food. Hence, foreign airlines need to depend more on their nationals for business and it make more sense to operate via alliance. Further more, the cost of operating a base at KUL is expensive. Therefore fewer airlines choose to online to KUL.

  10.

Another European carrier to KUL, MALAYSIA Boleh ! :p

Malaysia Boleh? KUL traffic volume is only about 1/3 of BKK. If compared with DAC, may be Malaysia is boleh else is naïve.

Without fifth freedom rights, doubt KUL sector is viable for Finnair.

  11. Not an hour, but close enough :)

There are Indonesian workers in south states that use air service to visit home and biz between Malacca and Indonesia increase the cummunication services. The gov. may think that AK could start Malacca to international routes with low price for the labors to go home and tourism. Just like in Houston area where there are two airport-George Bush intercontinental(IAH) which serve domestic and international purpose and Houston Lobby which serve Regional routes and they are less than half an hour apart! SFO and LAX are close too, LGA-EWR-JFK is situated side by side. I say go on with the project

    z :)

The volume of traffic in the city of Houston, London and New York is much higher than the whole of peninsular Malaysia. Hence, it made economical sense to have multiple airports. But doubt the volume of traffic from Malacca justified regular A320 or B734 service.

Believe the Government should be focusing on improving the under utilized KLIA (e.g. extending ERL to LCCT) rather than spreading the resources too thinly.

  12.

Apart from frequency, MH evening arrival to EWR is unhelpful to connecting pax.

MH may be a 5 star airline with the best cabin service but very often don’t give what pax really want. Hence, EK is operating 2 daily flights on DXB/EWR while MH never made money on KUL/DXB/EWR route.
