That is why they put up sign saying you have plenty of time to do some shopping.
and you wonder how busier airport like BKK could do it in lesser time than KUL even though the plane is parked at remote bay, and yes that is minus the snaking immigration que, still they are faster than KUL.

im interested to know the travelers experience on those long haul narrow body plane...
-
The average waiting time for baggage (without priority tag) at kul t1 and t2 is about 40 minutes and 60 minutes respectively.
is this their SOP and where can we as the user who apparently pays the airport tax can confirm the existence of such SOP?
-
I'm more surprised if my OD flight is on time. Their 737 flights have a particularly bad OTP, in my experience. For a simple SIN-KUL hop, the delay can be 1.5 hours, followed by a 45 minute wait at the baggage carousel (I realise this might have more to do with MAHB than OD)...for what was supposed to be a 45 minute flight.
I once waited one whole hour for my bag at KLIA T2. Most passengers from SIN were apparently connecting to the subcontinent, so the bags needed a long time to be sorted out
only in KUL that they have "caste" system wherein OD's baggage will be put on hold to give way to MH's later flight....i saw it happened before....

Better than cancelling flights, don't you think?
or if they have good business acumen, start mega sale to and from australia....
-
if they want to represent themselves as full service carrier and attract business travelers, they need to ensure their dispatch reliabilty is not affected by introduction of new routes.

just noticed that the A320 and the would be 787 have different batik motifs
-
No. It's not bad flying 5-6 hours on an A321. But the problem is what's inside the plane. The 320s aren't fitted the same as KA's 330 (and not to mention, CX 33E/K and 77W).
true, but i had the worst flight ever on RJ A330 with very2 tight pitch and stranded in the middle seat, i would opt for better legroom and personal space in narrowbody vs tight space in wide body

very violent scene indeed, was there no other alternatives than resorting to violent? i guess we should all thank Trump for this manic behavior which is getting rampant in the US.

Or maybe the passengers didn't update their contact details or used a third party to book, hence they didn't receive the notification.
Happened to me after they decided to close down Langkawi & AirAsia cancelled on my travel party. Since we were traveling on a company trip & booking was done via travel agent we didn't get the memo.
none of them said that and the fact is there's no notification which should be sent at least via sms and email anyway

I honestly don't get the Asian aversion to flying 3-6 hour flights on narrowbody aircraft. I really don't.
do they really have a choice? but having said that, A321 is not that bad considering it has 3 lavs for Y pax, from my personal experience flying VN to NRT.

Passengers arrive at Sibu airport, unaware of flight cancellations

and this is expected..maybe they lacked crisis management team.....

at 0:18 you can see the actual resting place of the plane

Unlike my weather and traffic radar, my sarcasm radar is never inop... hehe
About time all runways get groovy, I meant grooved.
being sarcastic doesnt mean you have to be stupid..ok now YOU should turn on YOUR so called "sarcasm radar"...
-
No sir, you pray while we do some fancy footwork in the cockpit. Dancing in the rain!
quote "Turn on your sarcasm radar please.".......

Turn on your sarcasm radar please.
ya, and pray your next flight wont be like this

Let the MH bashing begin.
"Third MAS plane crash since 2014"
"Terrified passengers describe their dramatic escape from MH aircraft"
And of course, we'll be hearing from the experts on social media:
"It's obvious MH decided to save on fuel and sacrifice safety!"
"I'm never flying this lousy unsafe airline ever again!"
anything wrong with stating the facts? hope we are not going to be complacent on safety issues. regardless glad that all onboard are safe. this incident reminds me of the one back in JHB in 2010 where yours truly was one of the pax and managed to capture some post incident video which you all can watch in the link below. and this incident happened during heavy rain and strong wind just right at the time the plane was few minutes to touch down, similar trait with the current one i believe
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9CHX5fNLho&t=21s
those in this SBW incident had it worst from the pics i could tell thus i do feel for them and understand if they go berserk on this incident, not many people had experienced true life and death situation.......

nice livery on Layang2 Aerospace, no need to appoint Landor Associates for that i guess

Add no lounge access (except for TG ROP members), no business class, and possibly no interlining besides TG. It not on par with MH at all. Despite what most people here think, MH is not even close to the LCC level.
To my knowledge, MH still offers (which some full-service carriers doesn't even offer):
- complimentary meals and drinks even on short hops
- complimentary checked bags
- baggage interlining with OW partners and sometimes with others
- complimentary seat assignments (coming soon)
im talking about inflight service & comfort, except for the lack of IFE, for me their service is similar to MH the so called "5 star value carrier"..whatever that means....
-
Presume that that Thai Smile is as LCC or has LCC seats?
i believe it's more akin to Silk Air for SQ, not LCC but main service to secondary routes and of course tone down frills....no IFE, snacks rather than full course meals etc....in any event, it's at par with MH mainline service..so im not complaining.....

It's a monopoly for Firefly at Changi for the Subang route, which for obvious reasons is still the preferred airport for some folks in suburban Klang Valley. Prices aren't that far off from SQ/MI/MH. They will continue to milk this route dry until they get booted off to Seletar.
and OD starts to take substantial chunk of that pie...they better have comprehensive business plan for this foreseeable and impending business risk
-
based on my dummy booking for the month of May, TG is reinstating its morning flight and introducing late evening flight to KUL with the flight to be operated by Thai Smile
and ET is still flying KUL-BKK route in May?i thought they had discontinued this effective March.....
-
just wondering why the rush to start flight to destination without the right equipment? compare to A320, 737 cabin is definitely smaller and cramped, the only reason i survived DEL-KUL previously on MH 737 was because i was seated at the exit row and luckily didnt have any urge to use the toilet. VN flies their A321 to most destinations within 5 hours flight time with 3 toilets for Y pax which for me is acceptable to provide comfort.

Signs that Malindo Air is not doing as well as they expected. This reminds me of Airasia - try the route and if the performance is poor, they cut it! Normally, airlines would increase frequencies during their summer schedule but it looks like Malindo is doing the reverse!
sadly AK is charging premium on this route being the sole player....unfortunate for OD not being able to capture part of the business

that must be exception than norm though as i travelled almost every month to BKK and never in my memory had i ever waited for 1 hour for my bag regardless of airline
