just hope the services, catering, IFE will be more "colourful" and lively, not only the livery............
-
livery more suited for express bus LOL
-
lack of IFE was nothing new i believe as the more recent planes prior to MAX were also sans IFE
-
love the engine nacelle and the new split scimitar winglets
-
can it be said a competition at all when the contenders are in different market segments....OD should just be up-front and tell the history of the plane to save all the speculations........
-
Didnt know they operate PER flight with 737 if not for this news, always thought it has always been A330 all along.
-
Wouldn't it be good if MH passed two or three aircraft to MASWings so that they can operate some of the KUL to East Malaysia flights? Although it is a branding exercise, it introduces MASWings to everyone who has not been to Sabah and Sarawak.
hard to say as MH also has so many problems to clean up, anyway not to rain on anyone's parade, good that MASWings is doing something to uplift the cabin crew's spirit with these new uniforms, that maybe the reason for this. Had never flown with them, cant comment on their service.
-
is this really necessary as most people in peninsular malaysia are not familiar with the airline even.....just saying
-
wont there be any conflict of interest knowing that he has interest in a malaysian corporation?
-
If you market a product as First, there will be costs associated with providing that product - even if there are no F pax on some F-cabin-equipped flights. It is too simplistic to suggest that no F pax, so no F costs.
ditto, you dont expect your F pax to check in at the same counter as J or Y, just one of the example....
-
Lounge costs are shared with the J side & I'm pretty sure Enrich Platinum members will be able to utilize the lounge. As for catering - no pax, no food ordered so I don't see how there will be costs there.
no pax, no point of having it right?
-
With AK, seat pitch is roughly 29". D7 has 32" pitch.
ya, maybe the longer duration of the flight made those minuscule difference negligible
-
A319 is a bit short legged so for time sensitive missions it may not be suitable, and there are times when it's not available for use when it's out for service.
Honestly 4 F seats isn't going to take up that much space & cost that much.
the seats wont cost much but the other perks associated with F like chauffeur driven limousines, dedicated lounge, dedicated catering et al, surely those cost substantial difference
I did not mean to give the impression that MH should get rid of first class - I am just saying that 4 seats is good enough in the league that they are playing in.
even GA 777w has 8 F seats
SQ has a 77W config with only 4F. I guess they should just rip it out and add another row of J?
Just because MH F isn't cutting edge doesn't mean they shouldn't bother with it. By that logic, MH should get rid of Y because it's not on par with the ME3. And AirAsia should tutup kedai because it isn't on par with MH.
MH doesn't fly these VVIPs in F for free. I've been made aware that they even travel on full fare F tickets.
Questionable use of funds? Maybe.
If MH were to get rid of F, will these VVIPs downgrade to MH J? No.
Who wins? Not MH.
not saying to the extreme of MH should convert its fleet to cargo plane but they can even offer industry leading business class ala what QR is doing with the offering of their Qsuite
-
from my personal experience, no difference btwn AK's A320 and D7/XT A330 as all have horrible legrooms,
-
four first class seats only? what's the point of having first class knowing that it will not be at par with the likes of SQ/EY/EK/QR etc
-
so will this be coined as re-branding or re-naming? no news/ official announcement/fanfare yet from OD on this
-
can it be due to a380 wake turbulence?
-
Why can't MAS follow the proper convention for the Malaysian flag... i.e. the head facing the head of the aircraft instead of terbalik on the starboard side.
Maybe that's why the fortune is bad for MAS thus far!
maybe because we are less patriotic?

here you can see more details and clearer picture of the livery...looks nice though dont think this is suitable to be made as standard livery as it will be too crowded

Malaysia Airlines to add new routes, hire more staff by year-end11 new routes by year's end, maybe 26 more next year
Fleet count to jump 10-20% perhaps ?
When is the chap's KPI score due to be tallied up ?
chunk of it most probably be destinations in China and India
-
anyone remembers this old lady? apparently AK had done it first.
-
just to add insult, foreign couple queuing behind me commented the whole experience as "atrocious".....one wonder if this "turnaround" will be successful with blatant disregard to customer service....in flight service was better than before with more smiles and courtesy from the fa though
-
the ques for bag drop in KLIA were horrendous today, so many counters but only handful of them were attended, please MH if you want to adopt common check in method please make sure all your counters are operational! I felt sorry for those senior citizens who had to stand in line for long period of time and the so called dedicated "special needs" line is only a single slowest moving counter of them all!
