Usually the 5th freedom rights will come a bit later. It happened with RJ and MS previously.
MS has cancelled CAI KUL CGK flight.
MS continues to fly CAI BKK KUL with 77W, 3 times a week (reduce from daily). CAI BKK CGK will be 4 weekly 77W.Apparently, MS has decided to downgrade KUL to 3x weekly on A332 and not to tag on to CGK from KUL anymore. CGK flight will still be starting on Dec 14, 2013 but will now be served via BKK with its B77W.

CGK & DPS is the next; think open for reservations soon; already in the drop down selection
Proposed launch date for CGK and DPS: 23SEP13, 26SEP13.

KUL is chosen by Biman Bangladesh as the very final destination of its DC-10 before retiring them for good on 30 November 2013. Quite an honour I would say.
No it's not. Abu Dhabi is the very final destination, operating on 01DEC13.

MH resumes Darwin service from 01NOV13 as MH253/252, Boeing 737-800 operates 5 times a week.
From 27OCT13, MH begins Kochi with daily flight as MH118/119, 737-800 operating
-
MH will change DXB schedule from 27OCT13.
MH162 KUL1455 - 1825DXB 772 DMH163 DXB2015 - 0730+1KUL 772 D -
Isn't that alarming ?!
No. It happens with other carriers (even traditional carriers) too.

Looks like MH made the right decision to send the A380 to CDG. That route is clearly making money and the A380 will be an additional help. My most recent flight from LHR to KUL was completely full in First, had only 2 spare seats in Business and Economy was pretty much full too. The A380 is still drawing in the crowds.
Don't be so certain.

SQ never flew to RGN with their own aircraft. Plus it's hardly a surprise since everyone is trying to grab a share of Myanmar market. TG added 3rd daily and will add 4th to RGN in Feb 2013.

It looks like MH is adding additional flight to HKG. Did a dummy booking for the November School Hoilday and found the additional flight as below:
KUL- HKG 1910 - 2300 MH78 B738
HKG - KUL 0845 - 1225 MH79 B738
The HKG-KUL departure time is the same as the A330.
Any difference between parking the A330 overnight as compared to B738?
At first I thought it was a new flight too, but HKG KUL timing being identical (prior to removing MH074/5), it doesn't look right.

Many a.nutters think they are leasing it from South African, who suspended their CPT-LHR flights.
Not quite. SQ305 from LHR departs at 1500hrs from 28OCT12....

That's not true. May be it applies to half of the parents in the world but there certainly are also many parents that won't have a second thought to b***h about their out-of-control kids/teenage kids in front of others. And not all parents will boast about something that their kids are not/can't do like what some movies portray
That only applies to those kids who are in extremely out of control situation, otherwise parents refuse to admit they can't control their kids unless they're "done" with them.
-
S V Choong, you raised few valid issues. But given you already posed your opposition to this idea and calling it discrimination, raising these issues makes you looks like you're playing the blame game. I hope you don't teach your kids blaming other people when things doesn't go in your favour.
-
S V Choong: No parents will ever say negative things about their kids to the general public (or friends), even if their kids are misbehaving and uncontrollable at home. It's all about "pride" and not willing to admit the problem of not being good parents.
Yes, not all kids act like that, and you can call MH's policy discriminatory whatever you want even if it doesn't make sense. However, if a family travels with babies that cries on board or uncontrollable kids on the plane, they are discriminating other people by taking other people's rights to comfort away.
-
Based on the past message board logics, those (parents) claims their kids are quiet and able to sleep through entire flight are usually the ones who can't control their kids on a flight.
Just because you taught your kids travel etiquette well, it doesn't means others are doing the same thing.
By the way, the news release and statement still doesn't address why they're not letting kids to sit on upper deck economy. Especially the way they stress children/family-friendly cabin is a bad PR image. Is SQ's A380 lower deck economy not children/family-friendly? What about Korean or Emirates? not friendly too?
-
They should've turned upper deck Y to premium economy.
It won't stop "rich parents" buying tix for their kids in Premium Economy.
-
New policy for A380: No children aged 12 or under allowed to seat in the upper deck Economy Class on A380, according to notice issued to travel agents in Korea.
-
Please be advised that Emirates flights EK347/KULDXB and EK346/DXBKUL will continue to be
served by B777 aircraft from 05th April till 21 April 2012. The A380 aircrafts are currently undergoing
regular maintenance checks.

EK didn't mention that some 777-300ER that replaces A380 does not have First Class (including Suite)

MH to start A380 service to SYD from 25SEP12, MH123/122 flight. However, seat map is also showing 487 seats, not 494.
-
MAS press release: http://malaysiaairli....html/id/292297
Again, capacity is 487 according to MH's Seat map in their internal system, unless they decide to block 7 seats (2 in Biz, 5 in Eco) for the crew.
-
The A380s will be able to carry 494 passengers in a three-class configuration, comprising eight first class seats and 350 economy class seats on the main deck, together with 66 business class seats and 70 economy class seats on the upper deck.
Configuration is 487 seats, not 494. F8 C64 Y415.

MAS to unveil business plan soon
PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Airlines (MAS) said it is actively finalising a business plan which it intends to unveil soon.
So MH will finally announce cancelling those destinations mentioned nearly 2 weeks ago, coinciding with the new business plan announcement?

As of 0400GMT 14NOV11...
Reservation for BKI HND is wide-open again (travel on/after 01FEB12), after most booking class closed for 2-3 days.
-
I hope you don't mind my ignorance. I'm frankly confused. I can't find any information to suggest that MH has decided to overturn it's decision on canceling all the aforementioned routes.
If you don't have access to reservation system, or if you don't do the search on same route everyday on MH website, you won't be able to tell if MH decided to reverse its decision.
The reversal could be just temporary as they might want to wait until the airline officially announce the cancellation.
Non-stop flights from BKI to HND and KIX have all been taken out of the reservation system but ICN is still bookable for travel dates from March 2012 and beyond. I guess this is because the BKI/ICN flights are code-share flights with KE, so MAS can't simply cancel the route. They will need to sort things out with KE first.
BKI HND and BKI KIX haven't been removed from the system and still bookable. Including BKI ICN, current availability status pretty much means these routes are done, unless they also reverse the decision and re-open all class of service.
MH doesn't have to "sort things out" with KE in order to cancel it.
-
To be fair MAR, it is not "flip-flopping" because this isn't really public information
It is flip-flopping to certain extend for some people who are trying to book flights if the paper didn't report it, or myself pay attention to it.
or may be the airline got caught off guard for closing reservations before major announcement regarding this matter.
BTW, Kota Kinabalu (BKI) hub remain close (from Feb 12) as mention before?
For now, yes. MH just haven't finish cleaning up the inventory for BKI HND/KIX/ICN route.
