Isn't it easier for the controller to ask the passenger to keep manipulate the autopilot all the way to touch down? It is all about turning alt and hdg knobs. Can't say much with the flare part, but I think it is quite a easy situation to handle overall for a passenger.Even tuning knobs need some knowledge. What numbers and which know is for what and when. Not so easy when the controller cant see whats happening in the cockpit.

Airport named after political leaders or whoever is pretty common around the world. I'm not against if KLIA was initially named DR M airport. But since its called KLIA changing it to DR M airport wouldnt make any difference at all. SO why bother. Also changing name cost money. Rustam so much money might as well give it to someone who needs it. Dungus.....

Talking about POB, in KUL POB is reported to delivery or ground?
Also how come KUL after landing Rego is always asked?

If the LCCT is over crowded, just extend it then. Its not that KLIA runway are max to the fullest?

well...I think all FA should recognize this cockpit method..even this is beyond their scope...but it might useful in-case something happen.. remember flight helios..Can t have all these "in case something happen". Thats why already have 2 pilots. An a/c can still be flown by one pilot.

hey whats this about St Joe,
I also from St. Joe grad in 1995

Just to add to that, one can also get a check ride with the aircraft owner or join a oneday membership with the club.Or if anyone ( non pilot or licence pilot) just want to have a feel of the controls and pilots who have itchy hand to have manual controls, he or she can always try a trial flight on the right seat.
How about with a Singapore CPL? whats the procedure?

China Airlines should take the responsibility of the 30 injured on air turbulenceTaiwan News, Website Editorial Staff
2008-09-21 06:59 PM
Flight CI687 of China Airline yesterday morning suffered from sunny-air-turbulence and made 26 passengers and 4 flight attendants injured as leaving for Bali, Indonesia.
China Airlines pointed that this flight took off from Taiwan Taoyuan international airport and met the sunny-air-turbulence at 11:25 a.m. over Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. The plane had shaken up and down 200 feet for 10 seconds. Many seriously injured passengers did not tie well the seat belts
Chen Pong-yu (陳鵬宇), the spokesman of China Airlines said that, the airplane keep flying to Bali, Indonesia after the airplane commander checked everyone’s situation.
Before they met the sunny-air- turbulence, the radar had detected another air turbulence. So, the airplane commander asked the passengers to return to seats with belts. But it was too late to avoid the undetected sunny-air- turbulence.
Whats sunny air turbulence? Anyway I very much doubt that this region has clear air turb. Unless they wack into a big CB.
Didnt know that weather radar can detect clear air turbulence if it thats what sunny air turbulence mean.

Ouch! Is this permanent?!Seems like it. the flight taken off is a Wednesday flight. Making commuting even harder now. How sad.

Seems like Kuching is the problem not AK. Supposed there just aren't enough people from Kch to travel vice versa. Even Silkair has removed one of its daily flight making it a 6 flights weekly. The bigger the airport the less flights it become.

Bekalalan is also the scene of helicopter (hornbill) mishaps few years ago carrying some politicians.

I'm due to fly UA for 3 hours flight, should I bring water with me? or that still "complimentary" ?UA will realize that this is just a dumb move where pax can choose other US carriers for long haul, or even better SQ I would expect this kind of news from AA, oh well...
Buy water? cant even carry water onboard due LAG.....Pax are really being squeezed. Sad Sad.

" DONT RIDE THE BRAKES..IDLE POWER AND THEN BRAKE! " The very first thing my instructor told me during my very first flight in training..In flight school, some single eng props, minimum is 800rpm.....can't go idle. actually usage of reversers does little to reduce landing distance, however with reversers it does help in reducing brakes workload.

As I know, Mukah airport has already been upgraded in 2005.
The whole Mukah population can fit in a 747
Anyway, guys, again gahmen need to spend money, no spending means no money to give/take and what better ways to spend big amount of money in one shot other than bulding airports?
