Saw an insta post. The aircraft is currently undergoing sticker removal.
There was a MAS B737 in the background. Was it done in MAS's hanger ?

BTW, were the rules flouted at BKI? The photo above shows that none of the VVIPs wore high visibility attire...
There is no high-vis vest in blue colour available ..... oh wait, why dont they place blue sticker on the high-vis vest ...for a day

So which was the more pleasant surprise ? Meeting the Dream or equipment upgrade ?
Well they were both equally pleasant surprises for me. When our flight MH140 touched down on 32L in the early morning I already spotted the giant beauty. But I wasnt armed with camera thus no photos of her were taken.
Later I found a MH A350 parked at Gate C1 which was the gate for our flight. It was another big surprise ! When we checked thru our flight to HKG in SYD the night before it was still showing A330. Even the captain of the flight mentioned in the announcement that it was a very rare opportunity to fly A350 on this route.
Sorry OT.

World's largest aircraft, Antonov An-225 Mriya, lands in Malaysia
from: https://malaysia.yahoo.com/news/world-apos-largest-aircraft-antonov-140922622.html
So, anyone caught her yet ?
Taken while onboard MH72 KUL-HKG on 15/4. Apology for the poor photo quality.
On another note, we were lucky to get MHed with last equipment change from A330 to A350 for this flight

.. those are artist's impressions, probably the architect's idealized version
yeah....not to mention the Air Asia A380 on the apron

Serious ?
Anyone worked out the maths and logistics yet to postulate a cost advantage of flying via a Bornean hub vs direct North Orient/Australasia ? Maybe Royal Brunei hasn't clicked all the right buttons yet ?
And if the KCH 'hub' does materialize, presumably it will cannibalize some of the transit traffic over at KLIA2 as result too ?
Perhaps they don't know the modern jetliners are capable of doing North Asia-Australasia non-stop ?

Nice photos of the planes lining up, Chaity !
These show Malaysia's economy is good, many go for holidays !

Last update: 08/02/2018SEPANG, Feb 8 (Bernama) -- The Transport Ministry has instructed Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAB) to solve the seating and toilet problems in business class in its Airbus A350-900XWB aircraft.Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said today the ministry had received complaints from passengers on uncomfortable seats and insufficient toilets in the business class. The matter was discussed at the weekly meeting of the Cabinet yesterday, he said.Seriously ? Cabinet meeting discussed about MAS Business Class seats & toilets ?
For seat and toilet to be discussed in cabinet meeting, mean complaint from minister's family or sec gen.
That was my first impression too !

For AirAsia I believe anything that could bring down the cost is more important. I would not be surprised when Sydney second airport is ready, AirAsia might move there instead of current SYD Kingsford Smith Airport for lower cost and even for its odd hours (curfew free).
From memory there is no onsite airport control tower in AVV. All the traffics to/from AVV are controlled remotely. Not sure if this has changed

How are the aerotrains between terminals at SIN ?
-
And MH is now pursuing to be first in the world to ditch the A380 from it's fleet
SQ let go one of its A380s. But not entire fleet la.
Damn, still cant't beat SQ !
Anyway, I believe at the time of the order, perhaps MH anticipated strong demand on its Kangaroo Routes which were then taken away by ME3 ?

A388 is doing MH122/M123 KUL-SYD vv for the past two days. Not sure if this has something to do with the shortage of the A330 ? (and of course, A388 is freed up from KUL-LHR)

Perhaps there should be another thread “Which Airlines Haven't You Been On?” for Suzanne

If PER is MH Australia's stepchild, how about BNE?
Abandoned child ?

Would QF want to have another round to talk about it?
Perhaps this time the two Irish CEOs can achieve something ?

Nice coverage from KS Ong & Hon Kit
I like the window size & its higher position.
On another note, I always find the tray table position (on any plane) is too low. Hopefully someone can come out with a smart design for a right positioned tray table when deployed.

Pffft, that is merely half the quantity that our MH has agreed to negotiate with Boeing for
And they have -8 only whereas MAB has -9
-
With the 8 frames that MH orders, it will keep Boeing B787 assembly line busy for at least 2 weeks
-
Buy 8 get 1 free

Good news for SYD plane spotters

AJ has stated that he listens to customers and most the Aussie pax welcome the move back to SIN

Perhaps KLIA2 is like a goose that lays golden eggs to every party involved in the construction of the terminal (or airport to be precise) ? Everyone kills it for BIG KONTRAK in the construction and less care in its functionality and sustainability as its intended purpose as a LCCT ?

I recently flew out from KUL via SIN and the comparison is simple :
SIN indeed is a good place for long layover, it is a very lively and clean airport. Unlike KUL which is quiet but boring.
The only downside I could find with SIN is it is too big an airport for flights with short connection time especially when it involves change of terminal. My connection time in SIN was around 1 hr and I could only merely make it to the gate on time after running at Usain Bolt 100m speed. My baggage couldn't make it though.

I remember when I flew with MH KUL-DPS back in year 2004, I had option with AM departure B772 and PM departure A330. Of course those days are gone.
