Wonder how they dealt with the fuel leftover from the flight (assuming there was leftovers) ?
The aircraft will be de-fuelled
VH-OJA went all the way to the end of runway
Wait for the wheel brake to cool down before towed to HARS
I believe the fire truck was sent down from SYD airport for the landing of VH-OJA this morning

25 tonnes of fuel for a 17 minute hop ?!
I'm guessing it's the effort required to get the bird off the ground that guzzles juice most rapidly
There is a provision for go around until 10am and return to SYD if the weather is not favaourable. There is low threshold for cross wind and tail wind due to the challenging runway for a B744
The very last landing of VH-OJA..... a smooth landing. Bravo to the pilots

With less than 10 mins to STA, the spectators were waiting patiently

The relatively short and narrow runway at Illawara Airport WOL makes the landing of VH-OJA a very challenging task.
VH-OJA carried approx 25 tonne of fuel for this mission
Here are some interesting reads regadring the prep works

TK has just acquired additional LHR slots from SAS

I remember circa 2004 when I board MH122 SYD-KUL, it showed the flight destination was BEY via KUL on Sydney airport FID
-
I think TK is looking at wet lease
Besides MH, is TG another possibility ?

What Malaysia is lacking of, in general, the maintenance cultural.

I will do exactly as what Kee did (the passenger as mentioned in the article)

From the video it appears the left wing tip hit a yellow car just before it hit the bridge ?

With the latest QZ8501 fiasco, I don't think Australia is in a hurry to approve any new flight from Indonesia-based airlines soon.....especially low cost's.

Is there a photo of Turkmenistan King on the wall at the front cabin ?

Indonesia Air Asia X DPS-MEL did not kick-off as planned on boxing day. Many MEL pax bound for DPS are re-routed via KUL or offered with full refund.

I was on a D7 flight today. Onboard there were several Chinese pax watching movies and playing games on their tablets without any ear / head phones on. They turned on the volume quite loud and it was really annoying. Perhaps airlines should restrict pax to watch movies or playing games only with their ear / head phone on

While GA inflight services are good, from my experience, the service quality is not consistent in their customer service though and there is still big room for improvements in this area. Their staff are generally friendly, it is just sometimes they have no clues in handling some situations. Not sure if they are not well trained or company information & procedures are not conveyed to them effectively.
Another thing is from my experience, SQ takes less than 24 hrs to reply to my email equiry / complaints while MH takes 2 weeks. GA however, has never reply to any of my emails.

I think it also depends on the traffic rights between the cities. Take LH & KL as example, they have fifth freedom rights between BKK-KUL vv and KUL-CGK vv, hence it make sense for them to have tag on flights instead of triangular route for better aircraft utilisation. Likewise the former QR DOH-KUL-HKT vv.

Perhaps XXX is not 'Umum' (G -General) rated ?

Ain't Dec is during monsoon season ?

Few years ago I bought tickets with JQ for SYD-KUL vv before they axed the route. They offered us the options to reroute to SIN (via DRW), HKT or DPS

Excellent shots ! Thanks for sharing.
Did a check on airfleets.net, EP-IAC is 37.5 years old now, almost 11.5 years older than Biman's DC10 'New Era' S2-ACR

AirAsia booking engine shows KUL-SYD is down to one daily from Feb 15 onwards. KUL-MEL still has 12 weekly. KUL-OOL has 5x weekly

errr... SZB, PKU, PNK, KBR, maybe RDG, TOD, Pangkor, Medan

Wonder will 3K and TR, or even MI setup turboprop operations ?

I think so, it is only 20km from Wollongong albeit it only serves for light aircrafts, no scheduled commercial flights
