    Kian Hong, Chaity, many thanks for your encouragement. I always appreciate the quality of your photos on A.net and envy your more favorable conditions to spot.

    Here is a pic of the A320 AK "1st airbus to Kota Kinabalu" 9M-AHG with the B734 MH, 9M-MMK in the background. Both airlines fiercely compete at SGN, especially in the afternoon. The aircraft arrive and depart back to KL abt. 5mn apart.

    Nice Gulfstream with nice/hot weather :pardon:

    Uncle Pieter, it's really hot at SGN, 34-35C! we encounter now heatwave from 9AM to 4PM. This month there is frequent switching of active runways from 25 to 07 due to stronger southern monsoon wind.

    Sunset at Tan Son Nhat (SGN) are now later than the "winter" time. It helps me to get viewable pics of the heavies arriving past 6pm.

    Uncle Pieter, Are u at SGN or HAN now? We'll certainly meet at HCMC for a spotting & food party :drinks:

    The photos taken at the airshow are OK but not spectacular because of fences and too many people around the aircraft. No aerobatics team! No flying display of the RAAF F111 :( I'm too busy these days to edit them yet

    Those are beautiful pictures of the AZ 777 fly-by, TTT and Hoe Jyh. I notice a tiny fan-like structure protruding from the belly of the aircraft.

    Vernon: Kianhong has mentioned it at the RAT, acronym for Ram Air Turbine. This device is the last resort for hydraulic power and electric to control the aircraft when all engines shut down.

    B737-900ER Lion Air (JT), Boeing scheme, reg PK-LFG, final approach to SGN from SIN. This is the same jetliner on the same day that KianHong has posted on Singapore Changi spotting topic

    ...July KUL - SGN and the ticket price works out to be RM364 for AK and RM665 for VN vv. Sorry currently I think I can only travel in July due to job commitment. Any ideas?

    Considering the period End April to End August the peak travel season of Vietnamese and Europeans in/out of SGN, AK price is not bad. July is within the rainy season in Vietnam but rains are not frequent at SGN and HAN, practically no rain in the Central of VN (Nha Trang, Da nang, Hue). Photo Spotting is OK but expect heavy heatwave during 11AM-3PM. Feb-April are the best months at SGN, but if you like aircraft landing with strong crosswind and quick showers (like I do, :rolleyes:) then July is good time. :D

    A few special visitors caught today.

    Very nice picture, Kianhong :good: I got it too yesterday but at VVTS with hazy sky (on final) and heatwave (during taxi) after it departed SIN at 11:50AM as flight JT150.

    If your picture was taken around 4:00PM SIN time during landing then its flight number is JT157 leaving SGN at 1:50M local time (Zulu +7).

    I'd love to get your advice on location to spot landing AC during the afternoon since I'll go shooting right after check-out of Changi without scanner (heard it's strictly forbidden in Singapore as well as in Malaysia)

    Ignatius: No problem lah! I'm quite familiar with Changi viewing halls and my last Nov. run from T1, T3 and T2 has shown me what to expect. Thanks Kwek for your help

    Bro..in ur case.. just hit the stores.. you can get ur shots in the departure area T1 T2 T3 provided u check in 2 hour or more earlier, since they are easier to shoot, u just need to adjust your white balance though through tinted glass.. kill two bird with one stone :rofl:

    Hi, Ignatius. The viewing hall in T2 is now accessible? I saw it was under renovation last early November. Is there any modification with regard to the T2's glass windows (something like in T3). If yes then it would waste our time spotting there and a convenient and comfortable spotting location is lost :sorry:

    Could you advise a good (clear glass or open air)location in T3 in non-restricted areas?

    Dear Kianhong, is your Vietnamese friend Nguyen a MW member? I'll be very happy to see or contact a compatriot during the SIN Airshow. BTW your pics taken at WSSS are very nice. I'm not familiar with Changi air traffic therefore my last October spotting there was disappointing.

    Thanks Uncle Pieter, Here are some air shots in the vicinity of KLIA. BTW I'll fly to Jakarta CGK tomorrow evening on Indonesia Air Asia non-stop flight. So even that I've booked a window seat there's no way to take photos on approach and landing :sorry: Perhaps I'll get some interesting ones from CGK to Bali and return. Wishing you and Mai a very happy Xmas holiday.
