  1. Didn't knew that Neptune Air is adding B734F to their fleet.Go for A.net,Uncle Nguyen; as there are only one photo of her on the database.

Tamizi: Thanks for your support and detailed info on this aircraft. I've never tried my chance on A.net or JP. Following your advice, I'll consider to upload it but WX (in the photos)seems not favourable for acceptance. I've photo-edted from Neutral gray to that colour

  2. Some pics from my last weekend spotting. The rainy season has commenced!

#1 AK, Bank Rakyat, seems it's been repainted?

#2 MH is prioritizing Vietnam by sending regularly their new B737-800. Here is the 9M-MXD on final approach when rain was pouring on the far side of the airport.

  3. Dear all,

We, VNAS, don't mind which days to which spotting locations as I'm sure that the "organizing committee" will arrange the most enjoyable event for all of us. Most important is to get acquainted with the fellow MW members. Second is arrangement for transport to these places, we are most grateful if our Malaysian friends can give non-local spotters a ride :good:

Guys, if you want durian cakes like last time at Changi, just let me know :drinks:

  4. Was there something wrong with that Maswings -MWE, or was it momentarily tail-high on landing?

It's due to hard braking. I got an experience (of this braking) when the pilot wanted to evacuate the runway at the nearest taxiway while the speed was roughly 50 knots. :finger:

  5. So far I don't feel that JT is the King of Delay or poor safety. I mostly take leisure travel (my own pocket money :sorry: ) in SEA on Air Asia aircraft (AK, FT, QZ) and the longest delay I encountered was on both flights SGN-CGK and CGK-SGN with Indonesia AirAsia during Xmas 2009. My family took return flights CGK-Bali (DPS)-CGK with JT and we boarded on-time. The seat-pich is not generous but better than other LCC's.

What made me think they are more safety-conscious was when I waited for taxi clearance and pushback, I saw the FO of a B739 which just arrived to the parking made an exterior inspection. He saw that 1 tyre of the left maingear is deflated and this was replaced in quite a short time (I took a dozen pics of that tyre change!). Another plus score IMHO is the timely announcement of weather condition en route live from the cockpit in Indonesian, excellent English and French! Both pilots are Indonesian. I later met the young FO and praised him. Perhaps it was my lucky day?

As an air spotter with radio scanner, I find the JT daily flights CGK-SIN-SGN and vice-versa keep good schedule records and the POB announced to ATC are always over 150 pax. This shows that the Vietnamese people who mostly fly to SIN had no suspicion about the airline safety.(FYI, there are 8 other daily flights from SQ, VN, Tiger and Jetstar)

  6. Yes, those GE's really mean business. Nice shots, kanehoshi! Look forward to spotting with you soon! Here is one I managed to shoot while still on board my plane:

Flee: Welcome to Tan Son Nhat (SGN). Hope to see you on Sunday for photo-shooting. If Kanehoshi is not available, please phone me on 0906846869 (local SIM) or +(84)906846869 and I will be your guide and chauffeur :drinks:

  7. Was in SGN last night - VP-BMX still sitting idle at Bay 21 with engine/probe covers.

Any shots of SQ186/185 (9V-SRG) from our VVTS gang? cheers!

    Hi Sandeep,

SQ186/185 flights arrive abt. 1900LT therefore we can't shoot them approaching. I have some night shots of SQ185 at ramp, I'll search for the 9V-SRG. In the meantime please content with the 9V-SRI Star Alliance which arrived twice (SQ172, SQ185) on Sunday 6 March.

So.....VP-BPX still at SGN with engine-problems ?

VP-BPX got a flame-out engine #3 which forced an abort take-off hence 08 tires deflated.

The long delay could be caused by certification of repair before permission to fly?

  8. VN-A322, dedicated to our ever hardworking VN spotters!

Happy Chinese New Year folks!! Be safe no matter where you are! :drinks:

Sri Ramani: Very nice pics especially shooting through the glass panes at AT. Keep them coming :good: On behalf of Vietnam air spotters who are enjoying TET (Vienamese Lunar New Year) for 1 week, I truly appreciate your care and friendship.

Here is one of my favorite pics taken at AT last year:

  9. Do you know if VN have repainted VN-A371 in a better SkyTeam livery? Also I would like to know if all the 772's are all repainted, some have patchy areas and mismatched engines :)

Thanks Soorox for trying to speak Vietnamese :clapping: and sorry for late reply.

VN-A371 SkyTeam livery will wait for quite a long time before next repaint. The B772's are now being repainted beginning with the first delivered airliners (VN-A141, 142 done). VNA jetliners full repaint are done when the aircraft go through C-check overseas.

  10. Vietnam Airlines B772ER VN-A142

MH605 was operated by B738 9M-MLG. Apologies for the bad quality due to the heat haze.

With that, I wish everyone a Happy New Year and here's to more exciting subjects in great weather next year!

Very nice pics, IMO pic MH605 at this size looks quite good.VN-A142 pic is certainly my favourite :yahoo: Spotting at T1 viewing hall is always a pleasure for me. I wish you and all MW members successful in your career and shooting more superb pics during 2011 :drinks:
