  1. KLIA Aeropolis is a good project. Right now, KLIA is in the middle of nowhere. Too far from anything exciting.

Once the Aeropolis takes off, there is more one can look forward too particularly if on a long transit.

A project this big will need cooperation from everyone to be successful.. fed gov, state gov and private sectors..

  2. At least they're still heading in the right direction with increasing passenger numbers and lowering operating costs.

Yes to some extent, but they need to be more nimble in responding to challenges.

The previous quarter they made a small operating profit, so it's a pity they slipped back into the red instead of maintaining the momentum.

I also think they haven't really reaped the benefits of OneWorld alliance yet. Not enough top end passengers to keep profits coming in.

  3. That was what TF said a long time ago. He said that the airport should be functional and facilitate swift turnaround times. He was afraid that, with all the fancy features, airport charges may be higher than necessary. That will harm the competitiveness of LCCs like Airasia.

My concern is actually the other way round.

My personal preference is to fly MH. So naturally I like them to do better. With a fancy KLIA2 and if they don't adjust the airport charges accordingly (which they said already), it will be unfair advantage over MH.

  4. I would argue the opposite, you have to provide an attractive offering then passengers will come, not the other way around.

It's a chicken or egg thing.

They need need money to improve their offering. To get money, they need customers, but customers only come if their offerings are good. So where to go from here?

Anyway, fortunately for MH, there are still loyal customers.

These loyal customers, who fly with MH through thick and thin should be duly rewarded.

  5. Some are quite valid comments.

The hardware in MH is nothing to shout about. In their new 737, the legroom is tight, no headrest too. In A333 and A380, business class a bit outdated already. First class is run of the mill type.

We all have ideas how their products should be, but in reality, money talks.

If you don't have money for those products, you just have to opt for less.

With MH making a bit of profit now, I hope things will improve further.

  6. MH really needs to upgrade the business class product on the A333 and B772 to effectively compete on the long-haul routes. Even the business class product on the A380 is already a little dated!

I hope they will have more business class seats for the remaining of the A380s. The main criticism is that the current ones do not have direct aisle access to some.

  7. I still do not know how to get a Youtube link to appear as a player in the blog page rather than as a URL that you have to click. Also how to make any URLs you click, to open up in a new tab or separate page. Right now, they will overwrite the blog page, and you have to backspace to return to the blog. Any advice?

There is a little icon you can click in blogspot to insert video.

  8. well well well

this issue happened to me on 12th of February 2013 when I was travelling on BA from Budapest to Heathrow.

My card was not recognised by the lounge operator and I was shooed away by them. However, I talked to the nicely, asking them to browse the internet, showing them what Malaysia Airlines is........and finally they let me in.

    Simple....

No need to 'libas rambut' in front of the lounge receptionists, sometimes they are not informed especially at this early stage.....

Great. It was probably the first time in their lives to see Enrich card and you showed it to them.

We can expect teething problems to occur.

I am still waiting for my double miles to be credited flying Qantas over the weekend. I will give it a good two weeks to see whether it will be credited or not.

  9. Some people might not agree with me, but I find that some East Malaysia locals' attitude are insular, thinking they always lose out to their peninsular counterparts. They don't push themselves enough.

Agree... It may be less now but there are still East Malaysians who look up to those from peninsular, thinking that they are better. It's their prejudice against themselves. So as a result, their peninsular counterparts can score jobs or climb up the ladder easier.

  10. Yes, businesses should engage and interact with the government of the day regardless of which political party is ruling the country.

Agree, businessmen should be pragmatic.. To TF credit, he is one very pragmatic chap... I remember he said he hates Man U but when to sponsor them because it made business sense..

So likewise, he is a BN guy, but if PR wins, he will be pragmatic too.

  11.

It's just amazing what gimmicks the government comes up with to to try and win votes whilst wasting tax payers money.

I wonder how much AK is getting paid for this or is it a case of favours will be returned after the election?

I don't think any public money is involved.. It's an Air Asia's initiatives, not Malaysia's gov...

But TF has always been a strong supporter of BN as far as I am aware.. He even helped out during campaign period..
