  1. OMG... this is too much to bear indeed. Photos on the net shows bodies laid on dirt road shoulder, and dragged and dumped on dumpster to be transported to refrigerated train. OMG!!

The only consolation from this is the thoughts that the victims' souls are free of suffering, and that it is only their physical shell that is left on earth which no amount of harm can still be inflicted upon further. sigh.. so sad.

Where is our Government's voice on this? We are not seeking which parties to blame (yet). We want access into the area to claims our departed' bodies back.

Whatever unsalvageable close belongings, let the scums and armed vultures take! Let's get our members home.

It is awfully silence on the part of our Gov. on this when dignitaries from the countries where its citizens are affected have continued to let their frustration being known and asserting demands for basic humantarian needs be exercised. Malaysia should organise a meeting with the countries where its citizens are affected, and consolidate their demands that the international team be allowed access immediately, and request UN troops to be deployed immediately to protect the team. The demand got to be a concerted effort to ensure maximum effectiveness to see through the demand.

This may be the only way to move on if Russia washes his hands off Ukraine, and where the latter can't protect itself, therefore the UN will have to step in.

Anyway, by the time such move is mobilised, hopefully the bodies are released and evidence handed over to the right officials immediately (less if the rebels demanded a ransom for it...) if not..sigh..

I thought the gov has already asked and is still asking for unrestricted and safe access.

I understand a team of Malaysians already there and more will go, but plenty of restrictions over there at the moment.

  2.

A friend like this is no friend at all. We need a stronger response!

But then again, all Western powers are all talk and no action.

Looking at MH370 and MH17, Malaysia really do not have many friends.. Guess this is the real world, everyone for themselves.. We have to be self sufficient.

Japan was an exception, they helped out a lot for MH370 though they didn't need to.

With MH17, SIA was quick to announce that they do not fly the route (though they actually did), no sympathy at all.

CNN and some Australian medias twisted their news like Malaysia Airlines was trying to cut cost by flying over dangerous area which other airlnes avoided..

Russia, well, I never think Russia considers Malaysia as a friend, though we have tried to be friendly. We have tried to be friendly with many countries.

  3. It makes your blood boils when journalists in their best attempt want to make Malaysia Airlines look bad.. Very sensational and lopsided reporting.

Airlines, including Qantas, quit flying over Ukraine airspace months ago

MALAYSIA Airlines flight MH17, which was shot down over rebel-held eastern Ukraine, was flying through airspace that a number of other Asian carriers abandoned months ago due to security concerns.

  4. More details on distribution of manpower from The Star..

    60% remained at LCCT.

Only foreign counters were reduced from 22 to 11.

In retrospect, 11 counters are not enough but then again, you can say anything in retrospect and sound wiser.

In retrospect, Air Asia would probably do better just to move to KLIA2 on 2 May.

PETALING JAYA: The Immigration Department has issued a statement regarding Sunday's incident where passengers faced delays at the immigration gates at the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) in Sepang due to a lack of manned counters, which all airlines were informed of and knew about.

"The Government had directed operations at KLIA2 to start on May 2 and for LCCT to cease operations. However, AirAsia announced that they would only move on May 9," its director-general Datuk Aloyah Mamat said in a statement.

She added that the Immigration Department, together with other agencies, had discussions with airline companies, warning of possible congestion over the transition period.

"The congestion was expected if the officers from government agencies had to man two airports (LCCT and KLIA2) simultaneously. AirAsia had acknowledged this," she said.

Aloyah said that as KLIA2 opened on May 2, some immigration officers stationed at the LCCT, as well as equipment, had been transferred there.

"Before KLIA2 opened, there were four counters and three autogates for designated Malaysians, and 22 counters for foreign visitors," she said.

Aloyah also informed that the number of counters for Malaysians were not reduced, with only those for foreign visitors affected from 22 counters to 11.

"Overall, 60% of immigration officers remained at LCCT to manage the passengers from AirAsia flights, and only 40% were transferred to KLIA2.

  5. Yes, the less they have to deal with the govt. the more they can be a commercial and profit making entity. Dealing with govt. is not easy - look at how Malaysian motor companies are screwed by changing govt. policies. Look at how MAS is screwed by lack of leadership and political will. Airasia X should do well, now that its success or failure is largely in its own hands. Plus there is no such thing as a govt. bailout for them....

Air Asia deals with the gov all the time, even recruited some ex politician.. There is no way they can be where they are now without gov help.. Just that they don't allow any meddling in the running of the airlines..

  6. If mas continues to sell ticket below cost, they will surely die. It's something simple but not everyone can understand especially when it comes to making sacrifices for the company. Naturally many prefer to see others making sacrifices, not them. Even the mighty SIA asked their employees to take unpaid leave or things like that when the going gets tough.

On my part, I fly with mas (and air Asia) whenever possible. Still would like to Malaysian companies successful though I have been living in Australia almost half my life now.

  7. He didnt say exactly how MAS will win back the market share -

Reading between the lines, he spends time rallying his troops/employees...

If the employees are not behind him, any turnaround plans would fail... They need to be with him thick and thin..For his part, he needs to show solid leadership and win trust..

  8. I think we're about the same height, probably the same size too.

To be honest I couldn't visualize how people can't get comfortable because the one time I flew onboard a BSI equipped 738 in Y (from MYY to KUL) I had no discomfort in the middle seat.

When I flew with those Sky Interior 738, the seats itself were ok but just the sense of being in a tight space. Can get a bit claustrophobic.
