if I am not wrong, the fuel surcharge and airport for Economy or Business Class is about the same, give and take about 5% difference the most. This is based on my experience redeeming it last year. Redeeming it for Economy is not worth it as there will always be promotion either on MH or other airlines on Economy which makes the difference between the surcharge and the actual promo ticket to be very small.
For example,
Flight to LAX - RM3700 (during promo) Eco Class
RM12000 (during promo) Biz Class
Enrich Redemption to LAX -
Points + Surcharge of RM2300 for Eco Class (Save RM1.3k)
Points + Surcharge of RM2500 for Biz Class (Save RM9.5k)
So, if you have the miles, aim for Biz class

Bought AXA last time for a trip to US and the claim for medical was fast and hassle free.
-
Looks like MH has announced officially the passengers list
It is in their latest official statement
-
The only difference is that Qantas dares to take action and make it happen

I think for NRT, there will be an overnight stay on the return trip as wellI called them up and I was offered either a reroute via HK onto CX OR via NRT on JAL. The CX-option does however involve an overnight stay.

SS Lee, you can always fly KUL-AMS-LAX, but that's another story and Alliance
I found a flight which KUL-LHR-LAX, KUL-LHR on MH A380, while LHR-LAX on BA A380
-
I think there's a 90% chance you'll be flying JL/AA out of NRT.
I have never taken JL before. Thought of doing that, but looking at the connection time, it sets me back a bit.
Are we allowed to go out during the long transit (looking at 10hrs for KUL-LAX and 17hrs for LAX-KUL)?
Comparing CX,JL and AA for Y Class, any difference?
-
Looks like it is going to be CX for me then...or should i consider taking AA/JL in NRT?
-
Pls correct me or expand on this if this is incorrect...
but I found out that generally, mileage/ sector credits into an Enrich account of a Oneworld airline-marketed/ ticketed flight (say, BA xxxx) is only acceptable if that flight is not operated by a third party, even if that third party flight-operator is MH or another Oneworld airline (say CX or even MH!!). So, a BA flight must (generally) be operated by BA, not MH or JL, for the travel to be credited into Enrich
Very limited exceptions to the above rule do exist, but generally - the above rule applies. I just find it strange within the Oneworld airline fraternity.
What you are trying to say is that for example if I am buying a JL ticket to LAX, with KUL-NRT by JL and NRT-LAX is by AA, I will not be able to get the miles for NRT-LAX sector?
-
Just received an email from MH regarding a change in departure time from LAX from a previous 4.45pm to 4.20pm, so don't know if NRT-LAX is up for scraps...
Time change for departure flight from LAX is quite common i think. I had one in May last year as well. The flight was retimed earlier by about 30 minutes. Should be due to time slots or the tailwind to ensure they depart NRT before the curfew at 11pm
-
If it's axed, then i will need to find another way to LA..sigh..CX is the next best thing I guess for OneWorld.
Wonder what happen to those who redeem their Enrich points for the flight then...
-
Did MH just axe its KUL-NRT-LAX flight? tried to do a booking for end of May and it seems that only code sharing flight with AA is available.

As for their current B772s, they are badly in need of a long-overdue retrofit to bring them up to at least the standard of their A380s and A333s. And if they do, they need to change the horrible 2-5-2 configuration to a 3-3-3.
Still prefer the 2-5-2 configuration if you are travelling in a pair.. Having a 3 on the side gives big problem to the person sitting innermost..

I had the same problem since the E-shop was first introduced

Not compulsory, but I was told by the travel agent that if we did not take it, we MAY face some quarantine period if Immigration were to check on the way back to KLIA or if you are traveling to another country directly after your trip to Argentina or Brazil. The Immigration of that country may stopped you from entering. Not sure how true is this though.

I just hope they do not cut any more cost in terms of in-flight offering. MH is already lacking behind others, such as no hot towel, drink service is limited to orange/apple juice and frequent "no hot beverage due to turbulence".
-
They changed the dates and renamed the file as "new"..
35k miles for First Class to HKG... looks very tempting.
-
can't find any as well...
wondering if this is going to be the same every year end...hmmm....
-
Still not out yet..... :unknw: :unknw:

Their flights to/from Penang is the most confusing one. 2 different set of plane to 2 different airports. If you are not careful when choosing the flight, you will end up in KLIA instead of SZB.

You can. It's called Enrich Transfer iirc. You need to log in to your wife's Enrich website to see the option. Chargeable though.
Instead of going through Enrich, I was planning to convert her credit card points directly to my Enrich account instead
-
Thanks for the link Suzanne.
So it does get worsen, from 6,400 to 7,000 and soon to 7,300 for 1,000 Enrich miles.
it's 7500 for 1000 miles though...
Just wondering if I can transfer my wife's points to my enrich membership..

There was once flying on EK from KUL, the APU was faulty and there was no air conditioning during boarding. The whole plane was like in a sauna. The flight got delay about 30 minutes more and imagine the heat inside the plane and there is nothing they can do about it until airborne. At least, the captain informed the passengers about the issue.

This is similar to what EK is practicing in DXB

Can we redeem Enrich miles for other OW carriers?
