They did have the Mirus seats installed, you can't see it because the leather seat covers are the same as A320ceo leather seat covers but you can tell the seats is visibly thinner than the A320ceo ones and armrest design is different and slimmer in width. Me being 6 feet tall, the seat is comfy for KUL-BKI flight and my knees still have a bit of clearance from touching the seat in front.
One of the A320ceo also have Mirus seats installed. Can't remember which rego though.

There's an Iranian FSS in D7 who is fluent in Korean. And AK used to have one Bulgarian FSS.

I think AirAsia no matter what they have to steer clear away from ME3's fort. AUH will not do well as they tried before and failed miserably.

Sneak peek on Lion Air's first 737-8 MAX. Time goes by so fast it seems like just yesterday JT received their PK-LFF 737-900ER with Dreamliner livery.

CFM LEAP-1A is big but PW1100 GTF engine diameters is even bigger than CFM. Looking at the ground clearance, Future A320 is still capable for bigger High Bypass engines.

They started out as hybrid gives them advantages to see which market tip first and morph into it. In that case MH tipped first hence Malindo/BAM attack the low hanging fruit then slowly and progressively reach the bright red fruit on top.
ATR ops also an advantage to them. SZB and Turboprop flexibility that AirAsia don't have. Can't wait for them to start the ATR ops based in BKI and KCH to go against MASwings to drag some of that MASwings fare down especially on the monopolized routes like BKI-LDU.

AIRASIA PLACES $2.7 BILLION CFM LEAP ENGINE ORDER TO POWER NEW AIRBUS A321NEO AIRCRAFTLONDON, England — 13 July 2016 – In a special ceremony here today, AirAsia announced that it has ordered 200 additional CFM International LEAP-1A engines to power 100 new Airbus A321neo announced yesterday. The order, which expands its LEAP engine fleet to nearly 730 engines, is valued at $2.7 billion U.S. at list price.
“This order for the larger A321neo is an important element in our long-term growth and expansion strategy,” said Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Group. ““Choosing the right engine to power them is critical to the success of that strategy. For us, the LEAP-1A was the obvious choice. This engine has demonstrated the promised 15 percent fuel efficiency and we are quite familiar with the reliability inherent in CFM products and the impact that this has on our operations.”
AirAsia, a pioneer in low-cost travel, has been a CFM customer for more than a decade. AirAsia was an early LEAP customer and placed its initial order for 400 LEAP-1A engines — the largest in aviation history at the time — to power A320neo aircraft in June 2011. The airline placed a follow-on order for 128 additional engines in 2013.
As the single largest Airbus A320 operator in the Asia-Pacific region, AirAsia operates a fleet of 170 CFM56-5B-powered Airbus A320s with 304 still to be delivered. AirAsia began operations in 2001 and has continued to see steady growth. Today, the airline and its subsidiaries operate close to 1,000 flights per day to more than 120 destinations in 24 countries.
“We believe there is no greater endorsement of the technology choices we have made for the LEAP engine than the continued confidence of an airline such as AirAsia,” said Jean-Paul Ebanga, president and CEO of CFM International. “We are looking proving to them every that they have made the right choice.”
“We love working with AirAsia and can’t wait to get the LEAP-1A into their fleet later this year,” said Chaker Chahrour, vice president of global sales and marketing for CFM parent company GE Aviation. “In many ways, AirAsia and CFM has grown up together in the past 25 years and we are honored to be part of one of the most dynamic, successful teams in the industry today.”
The LEAP-1A engine powered the first flight of the Airbus A321neo in February 2016. The engine is on track for entry into service in mid-2016 on the initial A320neo and will provide operators with a 15 percent improvement in fuel efficiency, with an equivalent reduction in CO2 emissions; a 50 percent margin to new emissions regulations; a dramatically lower noise signature; and CFM’s industry-leading reliability and low overall operating costs.

Mostly Flight Crew Manpower management. Sending 2 D7 flight daily you can free up 4 sets of A320 flightcrews to redeploy to flights that is short of manpower or cover standby or even posting to other stations that needed help.

Actually D Check-in Island is good for AirAsia as it is the nearest one to Departure entrance but I don't think the space around D Chk-In Island is enough to handle AirAsia peak hours & all Full Flight operation especially in this school holiday season and coming Xmas & New Year. But it is a good timing to test out T1 for AK ops.

However, Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun stressed that the shift to Terminal 1 was neither the right move nor a wrong one.
“But people are already queuing up right to the airplane (at Terminal 2) … if you are saying that more will be affected by the move, actually, people are already complaining (even before the move),” he said.
He urged Junz to consider the situation.
“Over RM1 million was spent for the upgrade of Terminal 1 and only 15 percent of the airport has been used. This does not make financial sense to not move there,” he said.
Masidi added that it was not fair for Junz to make prediction prior to the move, particularly when it was all about negativism.
He also said his ministry had met with the airlines operating and that included AirAsia.
“The move will not affect them,” he said.
The minister said also he had met with AirAsia chief executive officer Aireen Omar who said they would move to Terminal 1.

Think CM will do the same like what have been done on Aer Lingus.
Expect domestic/regional flights to have buy onboard/prebook ALA AirAsia which Aer Lingus Regional is doing.

Maybe this is the FIRST route that exceeds 4 hours by AK, I thought D7 is going to do the job.
Nevertheless, 3 new routes in a fortnight is just a wow...
Not really though,

Interesting enough, this aircraft is not a new aircraft. MSN 5295's first flight was in Oct 2012 and then become Airbus Test Aircraft. It is also spot a minor chevron nacelle design on the engines. It should be having a bargain price tag for Vietjet to bag a Test Aircraft home.
