  1. Can we say MH370 shares three firsts? :

    - Biggest SAR deployment (40 ships + 34 planes + more?)

    - Largest number of countries involved

    - Largest number of missing pax :(

I am watching the ACI episode of AF447 at the moment. If the trend is in sync, which could be useful for guidance:

    • We need a submarine to locate the wreckage (which is happening as the Singaporean is deploying theirs).
    • A very experience international search team (not related to military or any government) to lead the search mission (the wreckage of AF447 was found by the team that discovered the Titanic in 1985).

The first debris of AF447 was discovered 5 days after the crash and if that floating allerged window/door/raft is indeed from the doomed aircraft, timeline wise, I think our efforts are much faster than that of AF447.

Indeed it is. And yet many asking why is it so late?

    Edit: OMG opportunist!

    Scumbag.

  2. First the 747-400 was deemed inefficient and now it is the 777-200ER's time...

I wonder how folks like CX and CI managed to keep their 747-400, 777-200A, A340-300 going without nagging about fuel costs and cost of running.

By feeding more people through their hub.

Sadly KUL is not a big people hub.

  3. Apparently a 787 from Air India had some bad software failure(s), and had to divert to KUL.

From the report - all three(???) Flight Management Computers failed.

Oh wow, that sound really bad. On another note, anyone heading to KUL to capture the flight? an Air India replacement should be on its way to pick up the passengers.

  4.

Yeah - your entire booking will be cancelled the moment you didn't show up for outgoing flight in SIN.

Same thing if you were a no show in KUL & wanted to use the return portion of your booking, the system will automatically cancel the booking.

But if i took the ex-SIN flight, but want to alight in KUL return - is that possible?

  5. Malaysia Airlines nasi lemak: Then and now

'Several passengers have shared the fact this dish has been served by the country's national carrier but it didn't look like the photo uploaded on Chef Wan's Instagram. The website AirlineMeals.net allows passengers to upload photos of their airline meals to the website and some have uploaded photos of the nasi lemak dish from different years.'

Anyone uploaded the domestic nasi lemak onto airlinemeals?

  6.

Nah, MH88 will remain as per normal.

TBH I think the route planners should keep MH92 as a second KUL-NRT flight. I think the demand is there.

    More concerned about the timing.

While i like D7's prices and all to HND, their arrival timing is not the best.

Arrive at 22:30, ting tong ting tong immigration its 23:00, the last train from HND to Tokyo is at 23:15, then once you reach tokyo central its midnight, and everything closes.

Their 11pm departure is the best however.

  7. ANA signs deal with the world’s largest halal-food provider for in-flight meals

In order to improve the quality and selection of halal food that All Nippon Airways (ANA) Catering Service Co. serve on their in-flight meals, ANA Holdings Inc. recently signed a deal with Malaysia’s Brahim Holdings Bhd., the world’s largest provider of halal meals for airlines. The program is designed to be an exchange of skills, expertise and best practices in preparing Japanese and halal cuisine.

So Brahim is expanding. Interesting news.
