  1. Guess what? I have a sneak preview of the interior of the plane...it was in an ad in Borneo Post...

It feature the Kota Kinabalu-Haneda service...

Here are the pictures of the seat so we would know what to expect from MH in their new 738.

The Business Class is fine by me, and looks even better than Garuda's, but the same can't be said about the Economy, which unfortunately is where our butts will be gracing most of the time. It looks flat and stiff at most then again, we have to try it out to know for sure...so here is from me...

I LOVE IT, LEATHER SEAT!! i looks similar with virginamerica economy

  2. Then why GA (which is supposedly far inferior than MH) bother to offer PTVs for flights under 1 hour? Errr... if you read the linked trip report, the 'first' photo was actually snapped moments before approaching into CGK. It is a common practice industry-wide that the IFE is being shut down before landing. The trip reporter watched Glee during the less than 1 hour flight.

flight duration of jakarta-yogyakarta is around 55 minutes. lets say the PTV was shut 10 minutes before landing and 10 minutes after take-off. then PTV for 35 minute is just too much, maybe dropdown TV more appropriate. u have to look at the airline side, not only pax side. btw GA will also have 2 config of the new upcoming 737-800.

  3. That M Radzi guy probably don't know much about the new B738. All he know is:

MLD c/n 35793 will be flying in June

MLE c/n 35105 will be flying in July

MLF will be flying in August, new from Boeing.

B737-8H6, expect 2 deliveries this year, October and December. Rego will be MXx series, total 20 with PTV on all seats for longer-range flights. Config 16/150. After that there will be 15 MSx series for shorter flights, those that will finally replaced the B734. But don't expect the B734 to disappear soon, the last one will probably leave sometimes in 2020.

BTW, there could be some visual surprise with the introduction of the -8H6. Wait and see.

    great,,

are there any news about new uniform or livery?

  4. Congrats MH for profit..one more thing, perhaps future MH change back refreshment meal from peanuts to sandwich/muffins..hehehe..

peanuts/crisp are okay for me for flight less than an hour. croissant sandwich(cheese, chicken) must be serve for flight 1hr-2hr (replacing the hot meal) and it must be in good quality. and serve the drinks in can!!! new PTV in 738 will kept people busy. im hoping fee wifi also

  5. Berjaya Air usually bring passengers who also stay in their hotels. Sort of a package thing. Went with Berjaya to Redang on the atr last year. Seats almost full and hotel was good.

hmm,, redang runway is less than 1000m while ATR need 1290 for takeoff. full seats even more, its weird

  6. berjaya air seems get less spotlight than other airline such as firefly. Kinda like no ambition also. Are there any news about them? And how was berjaya's seat-filling to koh samui after FY enter the route?

Last time they ordered ATR-72 to replace the Dash 7, but any runway of tioman, pangkor, and redang has length of less then 1000 meter, even pangkor has only 792 m (according to wiki). fyi, ATR take off run is 1290 m.

SO, is berjaya doing okay right now? What if firefly enter their route (tioman, etc), will berjaya strong enough to compete(with those expensive fares)?

    Lets discuss :) ..

  7. I agree with you that lower fares will be a good idea, but it may lead to one of them or both reporting a loss in the next financial year.In todays world, as fuel prices are very high you have to use fuel efficient planes to offer low fares and using 734's will be a big burden to firefly, 738's or even better Embraer 190's will do very well with firefly,

Generally in my experience, firefly is always more expensive than Air Asia. But I dont mind paying a little more to land in Subang. But if it was KLIA I will certainly choose the one with the lower fare and newer aircraft.

I want to see firefly thrife not closedown because of jumping in the well and drowning because dont know how to swim, just because you saw someone else swimming in that well.

yeah 737-400 isnt efficient and i dont think they will used it for a long time. it soon will be replaced believe me. as what airasia and lionair did in the beginning. Airasia just need a competitor, whether its under firefly or not, under MH or not. even singapore has two LCC. malaysia has like 5-6 times population of spore.

  8. Thats a very childish and immature thought. All you care is "kick air asia out' and you have been echoing that all along this forum. No wonder with people with thoughts like yours the country is falling way behind in Avistion compared to singapore because of selfish chaachter, not willing to share and grow.

Your point of view is vwey narrow.

well its my point of view as a general civilian, a passenger who want to fly cheaper. firefly existence in lcct will drop air ticket, isnt that good? rite now airasia is alone in lcct, they charge around 60-70 percent of MH's fare as 40-50 percent it used to be. airasia think that as long as we charge lower than MH we'll be find.

  9. MH is too proud and would rather reinvent the wheel (e.g. community airline) than to copy SQ/MI business model :pardon:

KUL/BKI, KUL/BKK and KUL/SIN have proven by increasing frequency and lowering fare, overall volume increased. If FY could offer additional frequency and cheaper fare, FY should be supported.

    :drinks:

that is right,, airasia nowadays is not as cheap as it used to be, i booked airasia ticket to pnompenh and its like 20% more expensive than ever, GO FIREFLY!! KICK AIRASIA OUT!!
