  4. Good job there Meor. Were you using the built-in flash of your Nikon?

Just some suggestion for improvement :

    1. Try to get more emotional pictures... pilgrim hugging their loved ones (spouse, children, relatives) while in tears

    2. You are relatively taller to most people, so try to lower yourself so that you get the people photos at the same height level of their eyes

    3. Go lower... on your knee, take photo from a lower angle

I'll be resigning as a full-time staff from my company and start freelancing from 1st Jan 2008. Hope to join the Hajj photog team next year... if permitted

    Fitri,

Actually when I arrive the relative already moving out from the Tabung Haji Complex, so no emotional pic to grab. I also have difficulties to get through inside the complex as so many pilgrims eager to check in.

As for my equipment I’m using my kitlens and SB600. To get lower is not easy for a big guy like me but I try next time (sakit pinggang). I do notice and few of my pictures I do kneel down.

I really appreciate all the comments to improve my skills.

    -cheers-

  5. There are only few occasion where you get Police escort. One of it is the Hajj Pilgrims. PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) help to escort us to the airport the located just less than 10 KM away. It feels so good to hear the siren and see all cars stop to give way.

    Ready to depart.

  7. The Hajj, that is pilgrimage to Mecca (Makkah), is the largest annual pilgrimage in the world. It is the fifth pillar of Islam, an obligation that must be carried out at least once in their lifetime by every able-bodied Muslim who can afford to do so. It is a demonstration of the solidarity of the Muslim people, and their submission to God.

It all began on the 20th November 2007 at 0300hrs in Tabung Haji Complex here in Sembulan, Kota Kinabalu. These are the second batch out of 3 batch that I know will be flying to perform Hajj.

I arrive at TH complex around 0300 hrs and saw a sea of people ready to check in for the first step.
