  1. En Norman,

very nice la your shots....... more more more please......

did you see the Air China Blue olympic B737, if you tembak dia, can send me a full resolution one... I only have lots of shots of it taken from my canon ixus cam, nothing compares to the professional close up shots you take....

  2. Did somebody read this forum a.net??

    http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/g...d.main/3968354/

I wounder why people must say MAS should merger with SIA..why not with Thai Airways ke,Cathay Pacific ke..

by the way..malaysia and singopore goverment have lots of bilateral issues need to solve 1st..even tambak johor issue both side can't agree, now we talking about national carrier issue??unless both goverment dah xada keje, then this issue i think will good issue to talk..

Your Airliners link will answer to post no 53 in this forum,

The reason why sq is always associated is simply because historically they were linked as MSA back then... this come as a no "wonder"

But I agree - CX / TG can also be a good option as well... not withstanding what their thoughts are on the MH.

    Air France - KLM,

    SQ has shares in Virgin,

    someother airline and MH, possible??

  3. elong and ctrip are very good in china itself. they do not deliver tickets to overseas, paying them is also an issue. The even do delivery of ticket to right to the door (Cash on delivery) n china....

a tip, go to the CZ office in KL, its cheaper to get ticket from them than compared to getting an international ticket out of china.

  4. looking on the bright side of a merger/sale of stake in MH.....

in comes a new player with more corporate business acumen (hope this does not make MH sound as if it is as blur as sotong) - this may augur well as then the domination and meddling in decision making will also be affected, Imagine really running it like a money making airline company, keeping bad decisions at bay (say possibly no more mealboxes - do i hear applause from our forumers in here!!!), Government Servants will not be able to travel expensive thus saving taxpayer's money.

an interesting point of reference - sri lankan with emirates..... will it happen in the future?

with SQ's involvement - "affluent south managing the pride of the north!!" - QUOTE - how a malaysian company be run by outsiders, no it must be run exclusively only by Malaysians..... deadlock isn't it? remember when one of our mobile telco sale to singapore was stopped some years back? national pride will get in the way......

likewise, SQ being a shining star of the airline industry and the pride of singapore may think twice or more if it wants an alliance with somebody like above...... SQ already have Virgin in their portfolio as well (hint - think pessimistic to picture the negativity)!

go figure...... both airlines have close Government links, except one is managed so well that it is profitable, renowned, a market leader, innovative, (and the list goes on)......

  5. At this moment, it seems my travel itinerary should stop at ORD because I will be meeting up with my cousin there and hang around Chicago a bit.

By the way, when I touch down in the US, how long do you guys think it would take the immigration to clear a student? Especially a Muslim one..? You know them Yanks....

very likely for younger travellers, secondary immigration checks.... data updates.I always get the "priviledge" of being sent to secondary checks, I remember the months after 9/11 was worst - had to report to a special base of the departing airport of my departure from US.

You can be sure there is no discrimination of religion in the airports....

We are visitors to their country so we have to abide by their immigrational rules just like they have to abide to our immigration laws when they come here.

  6. with all this thing going on about the "pening pening" colours of the seats of the new reupholstered aircrafts....

I have a suggestion : paint all the 737's into hibiscus livery......

since the colour has taken over the interiors, why not go for the whole big thing....

Malaysian airports will be the most colourful places to be, coupled with AK's red birds......

  7. Hello fellow MWings, I think this is the first time I've ever opened up a thread so forgive me if it is in the wrong forum.

Anyway, I just recently got accepted to continue my studies in the US and I have to report there by the 13th of August, 2008.

For this reason, obviously I would have to book myself an economy ticket, and I was wondering what do you aviation experts recommend in terms of my route.

Price is of course a main factor but lets forget about it for a while so that I can enjoy a nice trip.

By the way, I'm continuing to Lexington (LEX) from any of these airports so availability of flights would also be something to consider and ORD would be preferable, but flights there out of KUL would contain multi-stopovers.

So I have browsed around some airline websites, and currently, and to my great surprise, SQ is offering the cheapest fare (KUL-SIN-LAX) at RM4012.00 including tax etc, but according to their website, the aircraft will be an A340-500 with Executive Economy class! :shok: Can someone verify this? I thought all their A340's were already converted to an all J configuration? But to me, a really big downside is that how can one handle a full 18 hours on a plane? I cannot even begin to imagine.

Meanwhile, MH's KUL-TPE-LAX is RM4429.00 and KUL-ARN-EWR is RM4134.00. But these are the "full flex" fares. I'm not sure, but with some contacts I'm sure this price can be significantly lower? The upside is of course the stopover, but no Y+!

So, so far this is the research I have done, and I will continue looking at some other airlines like EK and the likes.

I hope you guys can give some good suggestions.

    Thanks.

SQ is progressively converting their 5 A345 - they have progresively started with Newark (3 times weekly) before converting all and then on to SIN/LAX leg progressively, expected to complete late september 2008.

  8. TAP used to fly portugal to macao direct pre handover and a little bit over the period of "handed over" to china, but it was withdrawn due to poor response...

macanese portuguese people still speak portuguese (official language of macao govt) and some still have relatives or families in portugal still.

with macao's boom in casino tourism, it may be viable again.......

    trying.....hhmmmmm

Guess KUL-FAO or KUL-OPO will not be commercially attractive for Air Asia X, unless via Macao ;)

  10. Too many colours, very pening    .... maybe this is to disorientate forumers in MWings who frequently thrash MH.....

I like colourful interiors, AK is like the "run of mill" leather seats dark coloured drab interiors, like MANY classic boring (yawn!!) interiors favoured by most of western airlines and most airlines anyway... (MH Trying to be different - BTP No ??)

Dragonair (KA) has the best in terms colourful schemes.... bright and cheerfully coloured cabin which is tastefully blended to the right degree of pleasing your eyes. Perhaps MH should copy from them...

My dua sen - Take away the fluorescent green and orange - I think it will look easier on the eyes...... but then again, your colour is not my colour and my colour may not be your colour.....
