  1. According to this report,http://edition.cnn.com/2014/04/19/world/asia/malaysia-airlines-plane/

Just after turning back to malaysian airspace,The aircraft climbed to 39,000 feet, just short of the Boeing 777-200ER's 41,000-foot safe operating limit, and maintained that altitude for about 20 minutes over the Malaysian Peninsula before beginning to descend.

At this altitude,if the cabin is de presurized, mask will be deployed and the oxygen last for 15 minutes. That leaves 5 minutes of time remaining without oxygen.

But at that altitude the time of useful consiousness (without oxygen) is only 15-20 seconds. After that time all pax will be knocked off, leaving the cabin crew who will transfer to portable oxygen bottles.those bottles will last for 120 minutes on low flow. Then the cabin crew will be knocked off too.

    So what does that say?

  2. Bro, have you heard something called SUBLO ticket? It is a standard industry-wide practice with any airlines around the globe for the staff and family.

Every single airline in the world have discounted travel,SUBLOAD tickets for staff and eligible family members. In fact it is an agreemment among most airlines who accept any airline employee on a standby basis. So MH staff can travel on say emirates or thai or qantas at say 10 percent of the published fare of Y.Its called Z fares.

  3. Malaysia Airlines plans aircraft orders as part of turnaround plan.................................

plan and plan and then more planning and then plans then more planning then wait, more plans.

    NATO..........

hopefully they will sell the T7's and lease some brand new 777W/787/A332........

like now!by selling off the T7's they can release some cash for the leasing perhaps?

so did we fail to plan or plan to fail?

  4. Couple of things that can picked from that news article:

1.MH only wants to deploy one type of a/c,either 787 or A350.

    2. The intention period is 2018 as stated by MH Vice president,so bearing the waiting list for a/c orders around the globe, orders should be put in by early 2014?

So from now till 2018,will the 777 remain the work horse for MH long haul?Hence if the a/c is to be around for 4 more years, would refurbishment be required for cabin?

  5. (Reuters) - Malaysian Airline
System Bhd is studying both the Airbus A350 and Boeing
787 as potential replacements for its existing medium and
long-haul fleet of aircraft, an airline executive said on
    Monday.

Malaysia Airlines operates a total of about 30 Boeing Co
777s and Airbus A330s, and it eventually wants
to fly only one type of aircraft in this segment to simplify
operations and reduce costs, Germal Singh, the airline's senior
vice president of government and international affairs, told
reporters on the sidelines of an airline conference in Capetown.

It may begin to replace these aircraft from around 2018, he
    added.

  6. MH's actions is still commendable whether as a humane gesture or for some recognitions mileage efforts. MH have shown the "care" side of Malaysia, and in way won some hearts over.

It could have been on a schedule flight to and fro Vietnam, and Tourism board called for a favor, and it was granted.

I am sure in other similar circumstances, AirAsia too would have done the same to a fellow Malaysian in distress.

Nevertheless, we cannot conclude who is right or wrong as the details are still pretty sketchy and overwelmed by the sobbing story and dramatized blogging.

the only way to carry pax with c pox infection is to have an aircraft to themselves. So I believe that is what MH would have done, for her to charter a plane.. Otherwise is unjustice to the rest of the 150 pax flying along. I have personally denied boading to pax with c pox here in NZ and explained reasons. No dramas.

  7. Booked a SQ ticket SIN/AKL/SIN for 3 adults and a baby for next months travel,costed RM12,000.

When enquired later for a date change,it costs USD20 but no seats available till february next year unless we are willing to pay S$1200 per pax

extra, then yes can travel even in December!

as my sister suddenly got Chix pox, so I asked them if we can split her ticket to another date and let the other 2 travel. Answer sure can,pay S$528 !

What about if we cancel it? sure can but you will just get back your taxes S$300.

On the way back they apologised and said they will not be able to provide a bassinet for the baby and it is a full flight.!
