  1. Waalaikumusalam,

We have our annual gathering (June) to mark our anniversary. Perhaps that could be an avenue for you to look into for any gathering or group outing involving MWingers. If you have confirmed your SIN stopover, maybe it is best for you to arrange with our SIN counterparts (e.g.: Ryan Soh, LeeCH, and few others). Not all of us here have the privilege to leave our office desk or lecture halls as at when. If it's a sizeable one, I'm sure many of us here would try to squeeze some time to be part of it.

Perhaps you can try searching for the thread where a discussion and poll was held on matters pertaining venue and activity for the coming anniversary.

  6. Plane veers off Bario runway, passengers safe

MIRI, March 4 –Sixteen passengers onboard a MASwings Twin Otter flight had a scare when the aircraft veered off the runway after landing at Bario airstrip, southeast of here, yesterday.

No one was injured in the 1pm incident as the two pilots of flight MH3434, which took off from here, managed to bring the aircraft to a safe stop on the grass verge.

MASwings managing director Mohd Salleh Ahmad Tabrani said in a statement here today that the airline’s engineers who were deployed to Bario found no damage to the aircraft.

The aircraft was given clearance to take off for the airport here at about 6.20pm.

The incident caused four flights from here to Lawas and Marudi and vice-versa to be cancelled. The affected passengers would be flown to their respective destinations today, the statement said. – Bernama

  7. A TOTAL of 1,513 trainee pilots were produced from the seven flying academies in the country, the house was told yesterday.

The academies are the Malaysian Flying Academy Sdn Bhd, Malacca; HM Aerospace Sdn Bhd, Langkawi; Integrated Training & Services Sdn Bhd, Ipoh; Asia Pacific Flight Training Sdn Bhd, Kota Baru; Gulf Golden International Flying Academy Sdn Bhd, Bintulu; KL International Flying Academy Sdn Bhd, Johor Baru; and Austral Academy Sdn Bhd, Sandakan.

How many would eventually land a pilot job here in Malaysia given the sizeable pool of candidates in the market? And how marketable are these trainee pilots to foreign airlines?

  8. Look at US, LAX is the major gateway into the US, but the name maintain to Los Angeles International Airport, just the international terminal were named. Most of non-major airport in the US was named after the president.

    JFK :p

Anyway, I doubt Tun would buy this idea. He mentioned before that he do not want any project, infrastructure or public amenities to be named after him.

  9. A very well done video. Gotta love the Aussie accent and Branson's appearance
