  1. More news on KE 777-300ER

Astate-of-the-art aircraft is introduced with an entirely upgraded inflight service by Korean Air.

To celebrate 40 years since its foundation, Korean Air has purchased the very latest aircraft on the market, the B777-300ER. The aircraft comes with next generation premium seats in all classes, including the Kosmo Suites (First Class), Prestige Sleeper (Prestige Class) and New Economy (Economy Class).

Korean Air disclosed its new Boeing B777-300ER aircraft at Incheon International Airport on June 1. The new and upgraded aircraft started operation on June 3 on the Incheon-New York (JFK) route.

Kosmo Suite seats in First Class are the pinnacle of luxurious travel, costing 250 million KRW per seat. The wood colored seats help bring a touch of nature to the cabin while the 180 degree lie-flat beds have been widened by 15.3cm to provide passengers with added comfort.

Prestige Sleeper seats in Prestige Class feature 180 degree lie-flat sleepers, a first in Korea, with 66cm wider pitch than the current Prestige Class seats, offering customers the level of comfort normally reserved for First Class at other carriers.

New Economy seats in Economy Class are ergonomically designed with a slimmer seat back to secure more leg space. It is also designed so that the bottom cushion slides forward when the seat is reclined, to minimize the impact to the passenger sitting behind.

On the new B777-300ER, the AVOD system is also upgraded with wider screens and better IT mechanisms. In particular, a wide monitor with a ratio of 16:9 is provided in all classes.

Korean Air plans to install the enhanced cabin in all 96 mid-to-long haul aircraft by 2014, to provide the high level of service customers have come to expect from Korean Air as a leading global carrier.

  2. I suspect he means his daughters.

Have since learnt from 9v forum that B-16309 is now in normal livery. Yoong, you may want to get a nice print for your girls :)

Yes, my daughters. :drinks: They are crazy about all the plane photo...especially the "Hello Kitty" livery.

  3. Congratulations to all Koreans....to me ICN is the most modern and best international airport i ever been

...mmmm.....just want to share my experience with ICN airport, the staff in tourist information counter (with english speaking tag on her uniform) speaks english that my friend and i cannot understand at all. this give us a very bad experience and she is not friendly at all.

above is 1 of the experience...there are more counters i when for info and they can't speak english.

i think SIN is still the BEST airport in the world tough they are not 1 in the list but in my heart they are still #1. :good:

  4. Anybody spotted GE - Transasia Airways this morning??

Anybody know why are they here?

it doesn't sound like a A321, try ask your staff in airport.

Well, my plane type is base on the schedule. Other than that will be either OZ last min change of aircraft...or charter flight or whatever reason....any plane they use is possible.

Tonight KE will use 737-800 with winglet. Happy Spotting!

  5. Another news on the newly aircraft livery

Nation's First Airlines Covered with the Innocence of a Child Takes Off

Akid's dream to fly high with animals in the sky has come true. Korean Air has launched an aircraft covered with an eight-year-old girl's drawing to operate on its Gimpo-Busan route.

On April 5, an art competition was held by Korean Air to celebrate its 40th anniversary. Chae-eun Lee (8, Shinyongsan Elementary School), who drew kids floating around the sky with colorful balloons and various kinds of animals, has become the lucky one to win the first prize. Passengers who visited Gimpo Airport on the day had a chance to appreciate the drawings done by the prize winners and entry winners of the competition displayed at the awards ceremony. The plane will not only be flying around Korea, but also China, Japan and South-East Asia.

Korean Air has been well-known for leading the “trend above the clouds” by constantly experimenting with its aircraft livery designs. The company has launched “Dol Harbang” to promote Jeju Island in 2001, “Soccer Player” to commemorate Korea-Japan World Cup in 2002, “Rain” to celebrate the singer Rain’s world tour in 2007 and “Mona Lisa” to announce the Korean multimedia guide service at the Louvre Museum last year.

Animals Tied with Balloons are Flying!

On April 24, Chae-eun Lee, a second-grade student at Sinyongsan Elementary School in Seoul, won the first place prize in Korean Air’s drawing competition with the theme, “Fly Your Dream”.

Her drawing was about a dream to fly with animals by balloon. The design has two children and many animals such as elephants, bears, rabbits, turtles, snakes and more flying upwards being held up by five different colored balloons. Compared to her young age, the drawing is well-structured and shows the facial expressions of animals and children vividly which resulted in gaining the high score.

Korean Air held the drawing competition, titled “Fly Your Dream”, on April 5 for elementary students at the hangar of its headquarters in Seoul as a part of an event to commemorate its 40th anniversary. 194 teams (237 children) attended the competition. The results were released through www.koreanair.com on April 20th.

Chae-eun Lee will have the opportunity to have an airplane painted with her drawing and a five day trip to the headquarters of the largest airplane manufacturer, the Boeing company, in the U.S.A. with her guardian. Her drawing will be placed on a B737-900 airplane which is unveiled to the public on May 5 and then fly for two years around the world.

  9. Is this true ? Have heard it in many different versions but i can remember the voice of the lady who makes the flight announcement. it's the same lady. The flight announcements for KE and OZ are made in both Korean and English and it always starts with "MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE".

100% true, the announcement recorded in MP3. :drinks:

KE and OZ is different company ,the voice is different lady.

KE recorded the announcement in MP3 since the new opening of KKIA, followed by OZ later. Previously at the old KKIA, Korean announcement was made by KE Korean staff and English by MH staff.

    :drinks: :drinks: :drinks: :drinks:

  10. They come here to play golf, we go there to ski. :p

    hahahahaha...you are right. :drinks:

MAS should train their staff at BKI to speak better English, especially those who make the flight announcement. They can definitely learn a thing or two from the lady who make the flight announcement for KE and OZ at BKI. Her pronunciation is very clear and good. Grammar used is correct.

Of course, KE and OZ is better....the announcment is recorded in MP3 and send to BKI all the way from Korea.
