Let's face it... MH's per capita wages are half if not less than half of SQ's or CX's............. CX are travelling faster, they will still be caught behind.

Pretty much of the problem that MH is facing today is made worse and all the more difficult to get out of by........the wonder kid Idris Jala....route/frequency cuts, 5 Star value carrier, domestic route rationalization, bad fuel hedging, deferment of fleet renewal, cuts in catering - meal box, zero advertising, zero fare, PSS, VSS .....all his. Go Idris, first MH, now the nation....

Frankly, after having flown AK several times, these people aren't missing much.

I had a terrible time doing my booking. 27 times and it still didnt go thru. I give up.

Yes I have been to and driven in Sabah. I have driven a 4WD into the jungle where there is only a trace of a path outside KK.
Worked in Kuching in 1977 and first went to Sabah in 1978 (befoer many here were even born). Last I went to KK was in Oct last year. And the roads aren't that bad there. They can be better planned but unless the city is built on a greenfield site, it is impossible to fix all the problems without drastic measures.
So I seen them grow. Unlike you, I will still not put ourselves down.

I have, as recently as 3 weeks ago. And too many times over many years to mention.
I will always find the coastal road from TGG to KUA as one of the most scenic roads and enjoyable drives in Malaysia.
I have driven on the coastal road from Johor Bahru, Mersing, Rompin, Pekan, Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu, Kerteh and onto Kota Bahru. I find it no more dangerous than any other roads in Malaysia.
Having driven extensively almost all over the world, I can attest that there are other more "advanced" countries with more appalling road conditions than Malaysia.
So lets not put ourselves down.

She does prebook the meals. This I know for a fact cos she has done it for me and has never failed to do it for her Clients.

Then it was Penang.

Sabah, Sarawak and now Terengganu. I think there was also Melaka at one time.

Yes I agree that the move is good for passengers as a whole.
However, I suspect that we don't know the full story of what problems there are behind the scenes. MAHB and AirAsia aren't exactly the best of friends!
I agree and I certainly dont know the full story and dont assume to know. I therefore dont cast aspersions.
I can only evaluate it based on what I see.

Just downloaded an application for the MAS Going Places Inflight Magazine on the iPad from the Apple iTunes App Store.
Looks like they have separated the magazine from the Select inflight entertainment guide and the MH general info. I guess this is to improve the download time.
Saw a couple of videos in the magazine. One is on the 738. The other on the Panamera. Cool.

dont really depend on hearsays...mas e&m services were only used after 9m-aap was brought into the police hangar...it was the ak guys who roughed it out with nothing to get it out of the ditch...

I dont think hearing it from the guy who actually did the work is hear say.

During the previous incident in KK, it was pretty much the work of my friends in MH Engineering who got the AK aircraft out of the way so that operations can resume.
The AK crew didn't know what to do. They were at a lost and they did not have the equipment. It was MH who came to the rescue.
In the end Tony crowed that it was all the work of the AK crew. The friend of mine who worked on it is really peeved by it.

He's not stupid. He's clever, very clever.
He raves and rants, cry bloody foul to get what he wants. When he does get what he wants, he'll blame someone else when he screws up or dumps it back when he cant make it work. All the time, he makes a huge money for himself along the way. He never looses (money that is). Remember RAS. How the AK fanboys forget.
He takes everyone for a ride, literally.
So for everyone who can now fly, enjoy the ride whilst being lied to and robbed.
Stand-up everyone who can't now fly without aerobridge. Oops you've all gone to the other airlines.

So Jetstar is mulling rolling out the devices on its entire domestic and international network? Well that's rather huge. Jetstar's fleet consists of Airbus A320s, A321s and A330s. The carrier also holds an order for 15 787s. A bit of in-flight connectivity would go nicely with this deal, eh?

The best way to fly from Australia (their country of residence) and Lebanon (their country of origin) has for some time been Malaysia Airlines.

I agree with Affendi. I think the old grooming standards are way better than what I see as the currently loose to the point of being non-existent standards. It is sad really.

Breach in "Exclusive Service" and "Non-compete" clauses.
I think MAS was too lenient. In other companies, this act is liable to instant dismissal. They lose the title but not one sen of their pay.

Many airlines imposes either a charge/discount or higher/lower fares or runs promotions to shape their booking pattern including getting their agents to book on the cheaper GDS as a means of lowering their cost.
LH and EK imposes such fees in some markets. TG imposes such things here and makes their domestic tickets only available on Amadeus in Thailand. There was even a recent case in the US where one airline was brought to court for imposing this fee if their agent do not book on a specific GDS. This brought the more expensive GDSs onto the negotiating table and the issue was finally settled before it went to trial.
MATTA is either misinformed or has some other agenda or frustration.

IATA recommended maximum dimension for hand luggage is stated as 56 x 45 x 25 = 158cm and not as you have stated 56 x 46 x 25 = 110cm
In any case, many check-in counters have a gage which can be used to check the dimension of the bag. Your hand luggage must fit fully inside this gage.
The maximum dimensions of hand luggage stipulated by airlines does does vary from the one recommended by IATA. As a case in point Malaysia Airlines dimension is as follows:
Wide Body - 56 x 36 x 23 = 115cm
Narrow Body - 56 x 30 x 18 = 104cm
The dimension does varies with the type of aircraft/sector.
Airlines do observe some flexibility and their flexibility does vary greatly.
I do suggest that you check with the airlines concerned for the exact allowable dimensions
In any case, your 43x34x32 bag fails in one of the dimensions. It is too fat. But in my opinion, it will pass in most cases unless you travel in small aircrafts.

100%? I beg to differ - I can at least confirm what he said about KUL-BKI is absolutely true. Before AK, frequencies were lower and fares were higher.

I do suggest that you read the statement from Azran again. Here let me refresh your memory.
“The funny thing, the absolute irony is, the absolute irony – do you know where Malaysia Airlines is strongest?” said Azran. “It is domestic and Asean where they have the most competition from AirAsia. Look at their financial results. They are most profitable in domestic and Asean.”
Please refer to the underlined statement. I know for a fact that MH is not profitable in Domestic and the routes where they are operating together with AK. This fact is contrary to Azran's statement. For an intelligent person to make such statement is an insult to the intelligence of many, including myself.
Your statement of the increased frequencies and lower prices of the KUL-BKI sector after AK seems to also contradict what Azran is saying.
Please add some intelligence in your argument, dont argue for the sake of arguing. I do suggest you following the plot.

I still think that there are other options that have not been thoroughly explored to help MAS. This must surely not be the only solution or the inevitable has many put it.
If I may add, I am wondering if this is a "bailout" of MH or AK????
