I have a question then,if so...say the partnership between MH and EK is non exclusive...why did MH severe all ties with other airlines??? Does it make sense then?

Isn't the partnership exclusive...as in between the 2 airlines? Thus MH having to give up other code sharing contract? I could be wrong but what was my understanding reading the press kit regarding the partnership...I could be wrong...

NO MORE INTERLINING LUGGAGE!!!
Guess what? Due to the EXCLUSIVE code share with EK, MH now does not allow luggage to be check through to last destination with other carriers!
I've just checked in at KCH...I would have to retrieve my luggage at KUL for my onwards connection to ICN on VN...
I find this such a hassle and a wrong move on the part of MH...hopefully OD picks up where MH has left off...kinda disappointed really!

I under went a surgery on the 15th of Jan...on the 29th I was admitted again due to bleeding. I am to fly tomorrow...you can see why I am kinda worried.

While on the subject of online check-in, I also frequently have trouble choosing seats if purchasing tickets online. Have to go to a physical counter to have this addressed.
You mean at booking? I usually buy the cheapest...they won't allow you to select a seat until check in. Even the check in site is not very user friendly I must say...I did mobile check inon my phone...selection of seat was a breeze...

Also due to safety...Japan could be like US...you need to retrieve then recheck in...in order to connect to a domestic sector...

I did get the Flatbed and all the perks onboard except luggage allowance. You need to purchase luggage allowance on your initial booking before using that booking PNR on optiontown upgrade. If you just buy a seat on Y and upgrade...you only get a seat and meal with whatever is onboard....except luggage.
When you get the confirmation of upgrade via optiontown email...go back to your Manage Your Booking, add the luggage needed...to safe on it, or else it's 1 fee for 15kg over the counter...but since your original seat you book include 20kg...then that 20kg follows you with your upgrade ...well it as not even offered at check in. i took the value pack for my aunt which includes baggage (20kg), a meal and seat selection.. i shall accompany my aunt to check-in and see if the option is offered

Optiontown D7 upgrade...beware!!! If you didn't initial purchase luggage...when you are upgraded...you would have to pay it at the counter during checkin...I was caught of guard once...

It's a shame then...MH used to allow luggage to be forwarded. So now other than OW alliance...MH do not have interlining with KL? GA? BR? And I assume CI as well?
