    AirAsia FB:

  2. TRYING TO MAKE MONEY FROM "HUMAN ERROR"

name change means change of Pax A to Pax B.

Typo error can be corrected for free.

The other side of the story:

1 Fraud levels must be quite high - there are actually people who try to make money from AirAsia sales by booking lots of tickets and reselling to others.

2 If you are familiar with the AirAsia booking system, you can now store the names of your family and friends in your profile. So you do not need to type in their names and other details anymore. Thus human error can be reduced.

3 More often than not, name change requires manual intervention - so it costs more to service this request.

4 Possible future marketing or revenue opportunity. By revoking this facility, it may be reintroduced in future as a "new" perk in some future marketing programme.

Frankly speaking, I am not sure why people can make mistakes with names - it is understandable if it is a typo error. However, if it is a completely different person travelling, it should be a fresh booking.

FSCs should probably exploit this LCC weakness since LCCs try to keep things as simple as possible to cut costs.

    point #1 is correct.

  3. Saw one of my friend share this on FB:-

"A6-EAP An Emirates Airbus performing flight EK51 from DXB to MUC, was enroute at FL340 over Austrian Air Space when the crew decided to divert to PRG after it flew through a zone of hail causing cracked windshields and damage the nose paint."

  4. As long as one accept taking AK or any LCC as bus/coach service, most if not all regular travelers won’t complain. Those who complaints are most likely travel rarely and compare with legacy airline.

    :drinks:

We hear less complain on FY, may be FY has smaller number of customers and those who rarely travel are hesitate to use turboprop. However, looking forward to hear complains that why FY is not using aerobridge :p

    :drinks:

you got the point! totally agree with you :drinks:

  5. The replacement aircraft they leased(3B-NAU), is back with Air Mauritius. Refurbishment of 9M-XAA is obviously complete..on 5th April, Air Asia X operated 9M-XAA and Air Mauritius operated 3B-NAU to Perth.

means XAA now has same interior/seating with XXA, XXB, etc...?
