  1. Hi All,

As the topic title suggests does AK have A320 bases around Malaysia?

Reason I ask is I was under the impression that their main base was in KL and they had smaller bases at BKI, KCH and PEN but I now realise this might not be correct as from what I can work out nearly all the aircraft end up back at KL overnight with the exception of some India flights.

From recent obervations -AFA appears to be based out of BKI and when I was staying up in Kuching last March -AFG was in and out everyday without fail.

I know QZ has bases in Jakarta and Denpasar.

Look forward to hearing your thoughts and responses.

  2. Hi guys, just to check is it possible to choose economy seats on the upper deck while performing online check-in? Heard from some forummers that it's not possible on MH A380.

Booked a KL-HKG sector on 21 July and it cost extra to sit on the upper deck but this was in the booking process, we're in 35JK I think.

You might be lucky in OLCI.

  3. I'm still waiting for final confirmation from a CX contact but believe these are the other frames involved:

    B-HYQ c/n 581

    B-HWF c/n 654

    B-HWH c/n 692

    B-HWI c/n 716

    B-HWJ c/n 741

The oldest being early 2004 to the newest being mid 2006 build.

They're all A330-343X's with Trent 700's so lots of commonality with the rest of the A330 fleet

Also D7 have c/n 1423 on the production line so one can only assume this will become -XXJ with -XXK to follow new from Airbus and then the leased birds start with -XXL.

    A total fleet of 18 A333's by mid 2014 I believe.

  4. It most certainly can! VA uses the 73H from PER to HKT and that's even further!

    And it's heavily payload restricted.

MH should be looking at direct PER-PEN flights directed at young families to alleviate having to switch planes.

I very much doubt PER-KCH flights will be sustainable long term as Kuching is to much of an unknown destinations to Aussies, for example when I was telling people of my intention to holiday here 9 out of 10 people claim to of never heard of the place.

Does Perth have a big community of Sarawakians?
