  1. Been browsing for fares on MH from Perth around September to November using their iOS app and they are around AUD $1422, that's just under RM4000!

     

    Usually flights are around AUD $750 return.

     

    Does anyone know why MH is commanding such as high price, those fares certainly aren't competive with other full service airlines and you can easily fly Perth to Europe if you book in the sales for that price.

     

    Australians aren't going to pay anywhere near those prices in such a competive market.

     

    Any ideas??


  2. Hi flee,

     

    I was in row 50 and the rear section of the plane was fairly full, I didn't see many spare seats.

     

    It looks like -XXA and -XXK are both currently leased out to Flynas and -XXJ to with Conviasa. The 2 with Flynas don't appear to be overly active.

     

    I also believe -XXM has gone across to TAAX, although I have a feeling it's might be carrying it's 9M rego, so that's the last of the ex KA A333's gone.

    Have you got a listing for all the D7 A333's which are currently leased out?

     

    I know -XXA is on lease to Flynas and -XXJ to Conviasa.

     

    Think some are also doing RUH-JED services wet leased out.

     

    I came home on -XAA yesterday morning on D7 236 and that hasn't flown since arriving back in KUL.

     

    They appear to the naked eye to have a lot of surplus A333's parked around KUL too.


  4. That Capacity Management graph is a tad deceptive as TAAX has just taken delivery of their 3rd A333 HS-XTC ex Captain Park plane -XXO.

     

    The 2015 new delivery predictions might not be factory fresh planes but internally transferred ones - over inflated figures maybe?

     

    As a side-note the only leaves the albino -XXM as the last remaining ex KA A333 in the D7 fleet but for how long one must wonder.


  5. On the positive side AAX are doing well in the aircraft leasing business with a handful of A333's currently leased out.

     

    I recall reading an article late last year on here that D7 were stunting their growth and not taking delivery of any new aircraft and then -XXU, V, W and Y arrived, could these not of been leased out prior to delivery??

     

    I struggle to see how the 2 major aviation tragedies of 2014 especially in Australia had an influence of their bookings too. If any the bad and negative publicty surrounding their failure to start DPS-MEL services by their Indo off-shoot might be more truthful and factual, but that said this would of affected the q4 results.

     

    D7 are a great airline with a good product and they serve a wider niche market but maybe they just need to slow their aggressive expansion and concentrate on what they got.

     

    With the falling fuel prices their 1Q 2015 results should read a better story.


  6. Airline Ratings is the brainchild of a two-bit nitwit from The West australian Newspaper (a publication not even deserving of the colloquial 'rag') - Geoffrey Thomas.

    He is a so called "aviation expert" that of late has made a name for himself with appearances on all major networks.. He feeds theories and fuels rumours.. He has a hard-on for Qantas and hence why in every article he writes, like MH and QZ, he will draw comparisons to how such can "never happen at QF." His recent shocker of an article "why I will never fly AirAsia" is testament to his bias and lack of objectivity.

    Thus, take AirlineRatings with not just a pinch of salt, but perhaps the whole salt shaker and some more. His methods are fraught with subjective and non-substantiated opinion..

    Your views and thoughts are identical to most fellow aviation enthusiasts.

     

    He lost of lot (well what he had remaining) credibility with his MH370 simulator story.

     

    Bet you'll find he's a QFF Platinum 1 with full Chairmans Lounge access...

     

    Just search his name on a site like pprune....


  7. Airlines will need to consider if/what resale these regional A330 down the track when fleet replacements occur.

     

    Other regional aircraft such as the B744D have practically none and the current JL/NH wide bodied fleets arent exactly going to be highly sort after machines at the end of their careers with top tier airlines.

     

    I would of thought a derated version of the A333 would of been a better option with the capability to up rate them should the need arise down the track.

     

    I thought A330's had brake cooling issues on short turn arounds too.


  8. Debris located is "consistent with airplane components, parts and materials" direct reporter quote.

     

    Media are treading very carefully as if these turn out to be from MH370 the outcome and implications are obvious, I believe this is out of respect to the family's.

     

    This was refreshing as the media's handling of this whole incident has been very questionable.


  9. Breaking news being reported currently in Perth is that potential wreckage has washed up on a beach near Augusta on WA south Western tip possibly from MH370.

     

    The wreckage isn't confirmed and is currently being analysed.

     

    If true it's closer to where they began originally looking in the Southern Indian Ocean, where they currently are is many thousands of kms north.

     

    Let's remain hopefully, I stress it's unconfirmed at this stage.


  10. I was watching the news just now and the Chinese victims' representative are demanding MAS and Malaysian govt to apologise for announcing the death of their folks without any concrete evidence. Will apologising cause the resurrection of their family members?

    Let's be honest it was a bit of an odd statement to make, the MH Govt should of really waited until some confirmed debris from MH370 was located.

     

    To this day nothing of the airliner has been found, I'm sure it's only a matter of time but everything pulled from the water so far is just unrelated debris and rubbish.
