  1. D7 has now also placed -XXG back into service following it's recent wet-lease to PIA and subsequent ground collision. That's the entire fleet of ''bought from the factory'' A333's back in-service, although I did see one go to BKI last week, so at least they are keeping the fleet busy.

I notice -XAA is still active, thought this was meant to be gone in Q3.

  2. Couldn't help but notice there is quite a few D7 A333's parked around KLIA. -XXA (all white) and -XXK (hybrid scheme) both back from Flynas and PIA has returned HADJ leases -XXD and -XXG although the later was terminated early as it suffered a ground accident. These are in addition to the their current active A333's which seem to have low utilisation rates of recent.

Anyone know the plan for the D7 fleet moving forward is?

  3. Have any B738's been returned and not taken over by the new company?

In comparison to other carriers around the world still operated the B777's all MH needs to do is refurbish and revitalise them and they'd be fine for a good few years service. Many of the worlds top tier airlines still operate them, they are certainly nothing to be ashamed of. Also their A333's aren't that old either I think -MTA hasn't even reached it's 5th birthday.

Honestly they are stuck with the 6 A380's they might as well just accept that and deploy them on markets like SYD or MEL-KUL-LHR, offer seamless one-stop connections and yield the flights accordingly to fill them.

It's encouraging to see the A359's coming on-line, great news for the staff, the industry and passengers alike.

So are -MRB, C, F, G, H, I, N all parked outside the MH hangars at KL?

-MRJ and -MRK have been already scrapped I believe in the US and at TLV respectively.

  4. Very interesting news for someone like myself being a frequent flyer between Perth and Penang.

That said, MH and D7 loads ex Perth aren't particularly good at the present and I'm surprised MH haven't downgraded PER further to a B738.

I'm surprised OD haven't though outside the box and launched direct PER-PEN flights as they would easily fill aircraft, so very much potential.

The proposed flight times of OD151/152 aren't particularly connection friendly either for flights to other MY cities.

In regards to seat pitch I think OD's are capacity restricted due the the emergency exit behind the wing being inoperable i.e. the dreaded seat with no window, hence the generous pitch.

  5. Also saw a report on a Singapore blog site that A320 -AFL has been painted all white, was formerly in the Ace Skyrider scheme.

New special livery pending or possibly on the move maybe?

I used to think that A330's would be relatively easy to sell on the market, but none of those former SQ ones have been placed with other operators yet and they are only 5yrs old too.

  6. I was at KLIA on Thursday morning and it never seems to amaze me the amount of aircraft MH has parked off at stand-off bays.

    * 2 x A380's parked just behind C14, another had just arrived

    * Numerous B772's parked around the place

    * 2 A333's parked (1 alongside the A380's and -MTG was parked near the B gates

    * Countless B738's parked adjacent to the A and B gates, every bay was occupied with aircraft seemingly parked up for day all closed up.

Surely MH should be firstly looking at off-loading some B737's which are surplus to requirements, commencing with the old colour scheme and non PTV ones first.
