  1. I think they will allowed to only a medium size plastic shopping bag in near future, no need to any handluggage into cabin! what is next? clothes? personal weights? shoes standarts, example "no boots allowed sorry it s too heavy!"

I am constantly on the hunt for the perfect hand luggage - and sometimes I do think plastic shopping bag is a good option. Light weight, spacious, collapsible. The only problem is not 'glam', no compartment and cannot lock. Now the hunt for a plastic bag with such features... :)

  2. The other day, my patience was severely tested by 2 fellow passengers in emex row. Before landing, the passenger needed coaxing by FA to put backpack into overhead bin. Moments later, while the crew were already seated and preparing for landing, he got up and took backpack out, without placing it back into bin. Guess what?? He then took out a pack of crisp, opened it and started snacking with his girlfriend, who had asked him to get the crisp! Unless it is for diabetic hypoglycaemia, I can't see a reason for this. Even then, you don't eat crisp for such hypoglycaemic attack!

Just curious, has anyone here ever 'told off' fellow passengers when such things happened after FAs had conducted the final check? Never done so, though perilously close on many occasions.

  3. If MH case alone is so scary, then maybe you better not realize it's just one of many many GLC's and gahmen bodies and ...... :D

Tell me about it.. This is my 22nd year ('scary' realization last weekend) in gahmen, yet the current 20 000 vs 2500 suppliers required still scores a 10 in the shock scale.

  4. “There are currently about 20,000 suppliers in MAS, resulting in a very fragmented base. [but] an airline of our size should get along with [only] 2,000 to 2,500 suppliers. "

So scary what goes behind MH that nobody wants/dares to unearth or disclose to the public.. whuhuhuhu tax payer money..

  5. I suppose the bicycle allowance is for Engineering staff - I've seen them using bicycles to move about the hangars at KLIA. As for overtime, it's not surprising given how low the base pay is especially for the graded staff.

If it's part of the collective agreement then it will be hard to eradicate such allowances without mutual agreement. You know how strong MASEU was.

In addition, it is a bureaucratic nightmare to eliminate it - probably need multilayer, multi department, multi ministry approval - thanks again to British legacy.

  6. That must be Raja Nordiana. I am so sure.

I was thinking of some isolated post where you have to bicycle to airport - mana yer? Otherwise how to justify? Despite having received winter clothing allowance during travel, I personally think this is lavish and should be abolished.

Asked whether he has decided on who will be on his management team, Mueller said: “Partly yes, and partly no ... let me tell you there are lots of vacancies in the management ranks so we will start the new company with a lot of open positions. We will start advertising next week, internally and externally. In some areas we have enough talent.”

Tells a lot of the current top management team capabilities

  9. Is air rage more common now? Or is it because now it is easier to capture on video and disseminate via social media? I still behave the same when travelling now compared to say 10-15 years ago. Ermm except following the MH17 tragedy, I try to smile even though I'm feeling rotten inside, because the other person may feel even more teruk. Does people's travel etiquette change over time? What could be the possible reasons if the incidence is truly increased? I'm puzzled..

  10. is there a malaysian office in kl you can call to book your moml?

You can find the phone number in its website. Very prompt pick up, no rubbish autoplay prerecorded advertisement and 'due to heavy traffic, please accept our call back service...' . A bit curt ( I think its cultural) but easily fixed wheel chair assistance plus special meal requests.

Check its website if you are travelling to Korea a lot.. Last month I even found bargain fares of RM 926 return KUL-ICN codesharing with KE on both SGN-ICN legs - but now it is gone, the KE codesharing bit

  11. Wait, MH has a working website???.......(pun intended)

I just found out today that Airasia has a new booking interface. While it has gone through many generations of 'new and improved' features, MH is still stuck in the old user-unfriendly-borrow-from-previous-generation-full-of-bug booking engine. I do believe in 'if it's good, there is no need to fix it' but it is not. Hopefully NewCo will be able to fix it.
