So the official version of the saga is not strike ? Shortage of workers due to change in roster ... hmmm
-
Yes - but I don't really find the "upgraded work" to be very aesthetically executed. One more thing - I often find the toilets to be wet and smelly ....
I am surprised KLIA is not further down the ranking.
Hence, my great respect and appreciation for the venerable uncles cleaning the male toilet in SIN. Ditto HKG. The ladies in BKK are a bit garang but do a fine job too.

Tried using the new Amadeus PSS from the US site. Externally it looks like a leap forward from the current provider. Hopefully the back end will experience the same leap forward too because the back end system is hurting sales a lot.
Agreed. Although visually pretty bland and similar to many other carriers' website using the Amadeus footprint. Noted that for economy promo fare, only 1 checked in baggage of 30kg allowed. Hope it is just a mistake. I do travel with kitchen sink ...

from this link, download the 309 KB document - pages 48-53 detailed the AirAsiaX 'senior employee' shenanigan with Rolls Royce

Extract from statement of facts on charge that Rolls gave an Air Asia executive credits worth $3.2m for the maintenance of a private jet
“In early September [2012], as a commercial deal between RR and AAX [Air Asia X] first took shape, the AAX senior employee emailed the RR senior employee to complain about the CorporateCare rate on the private jet. The RR senior employee passed the complaint on to RR employees and noted: ‘We seem to have a death wish on this subject.’”

And checked baggage allowance is back to 20kg

Firefly has reduced their frequencies drastically - I just noticed it as I am making bookings for flights to Singapore and also Kota Bharu. For Singapore sector, there are now 7 flights a day - I remembered there were at least 10 flights a couple of years ago when i used to make day trips there. KBR sector, Firefly has 8 flights a day compared to Malindo's 13.
Ditto frequency of FY flights to JHB

You wore something nice. I still try to, to this day.
Seems like it's a common trait amongst the 'not-so-20-something'

MLE, MLF, MLG, MLH, FFF are still flying actively, only FFD and FFE already end of lease, to be withdrawn from fleet soon.
Hahahaha this dog is too busy due to peak season, seasonal charter e.g CTS and equipment upgrade to certain routes. But yes, they finallycaught it, to stay idle for few weeks.
What ?! I thought only a couple of these birds were leased. Seven? No wonder they are ubiquitous! Some friends who are used to AK, tried MH for the first time and got those troll masters, were totally unimpressed and regretted the switch.
-
off topic - any one knows when will the two 737 birds with LCC Y seat (grey leather, narrow ptich) leave the fleet? Conversely, I seem to catch them too often for my liking!
-
Ryanair inprinted into his DNA already

Lhr slots is worth a lot of $. Last time, MH contra with amount owed to ai.
Also contra the amount for the low yielding, running for over a month promo RM2099 return, something's gotta give

Since the very beginning, Changi Airport's planning had been superior to many airports in the region and the rest of the world.
So what they are doing with T5 is nothing new, really - they are just doing what they have been doing all along.
That was what I meant exactly. Long term vision since the very onset and following through the master plan over the years, unlike a certain airport nearby...
-
That's what I call long term planning!

Wow, 'itulah banyak burung' was right indeed.
-
Had a jaw dropping and mouth o-ing moment minutes ago. Unable to contain my curiosity of the heavily pruned tree, I asked the info centre staff in KLIA the for reason..
Her reply " itu lah, banyak burung..."
I don't believe her !

Again I will stress on my experience with Air NZ.
In Y, they function like a LCC. Pay for seats only, baggage/food/seat selections are all add-on. I've flown with them a few times and I have never once found their service to be lacking. Always friendly, food quality is good. With their B787 you can order your food from your screen. On that few occasion I compared what I would pay on Air NZ with the extras with Qantas a full service carrier, Air NZ comes out cheaper.
So I would say if this is where Malaysia Airlines needs to head to be competitive and profitable, go ahead. Better to serve a good competitive LCC priced Y than a half baked FSC Y that leaves a sour experience.
The problem is mine - I just hate the LCC add-on concept, which is already a sour experience even before flying. If MH can make the possible combo sweet, that's fine

"This quarter saw the cutover of call center operations to a new outsourced call center operated by Mindpearl. The new system has seen improved pick up times; however, the airline is working hard to improve on short term issues."
Had called in twice the past few weeks. Calls picked up almost instantaneously, English speaking staff all very pleasant and courteous (spoke with British accent), but not knowledgeable on various matters compared to previous own MH staff - was put on hold a few times while they asked around for answers. However, improvement from previous never-pick-up-phone experience.
"A new passenger sales system from Amadeus will become operational in Q2 2017 with testing already commenced. Once completed, the airline will be able to offer customers enhanced speed and convenience, a simple web booking experience, state of the art mobile applications and bundled offers to suit individual needs"
The last few words sound ominous for passengers experience - LCC pricing and add-ons in Y and J ? (if not already one, in the eyes of many)
-
Really depends on your destination, date of travel and your travel needs ( equivalent add-ons - I usually cannot travel with hand carry allowance only, so I cant book raw fare deals, convenience and cost of travel to airport included - a certain credit card offering free cab ride from KLIA to home). On the contrary, this week bought 4 sectors with FY/MH, both being cheapest after factoring in the all the cost for my own travel needs. Apart from skyscanner, traveloka is a good source, offering regular promo codes for flight and hotel booking.

Took one sector on AirAsia this year, due to multiple circumstances rather than by choice. And unhappy with the whole experience. Slowly and happily over the past 3 years, from at least 20 sectors a year, switching all back to FSC. One of next year's resolution would be zero.

Luxurious - F , F and F? Or F, J and Y+ ?

Not really Just observant that's all
Many thanks guru - I knew the answer to my question will be detailed and perfect. The singles with console on window side are 1A, 4A and 6A?

I remember reading in an article reposted here that the OTP for MH was 68% in Jan 2017 and 70% in Feb. Can't find that article now...
