  1. some shots from yesterday... enjoy...
  2. hmm..this project sounds to good to be true. new airport, new hospital, new flying acedamy, what else is new for this up coming project?
  3. great coverage there guys its awesome to say the least and SQ super big birds sure is gigantic. thanks again for sharing.
  4. my question is, why need to build new airport when ipoh airport is available? is ipoh airport not save enough in term of security? i seriously doubt this so call humanitarian airport going to be fully utilized in the future and i sense a giant white elephant is in the making.
  5. well, that's how it is with our local taxi driver. they prefer to pick foreigners so that they can 'slaughter' them. most of those taxi's are doing 'part time' during LIMA only (extra income maaa..) and that's when they happily slaughter people with exorbitant price.
  6. roughly for taxi, RM25-50 from kuah jetty to airport. if anyone plan to hang around the air show only, then i guess going by taxi is worth it. but for those who wants to go around the island after visiting the airshow, then renting a car would be worth while.
  7. its not that far, roughly around 15-30min (depending on traffic) drive from kuah jetty. normally during LIMA, taxi is easy to get but if anyone want to rent a car, it would be very expensive. RM90-100 for Proton Wira, while on any ordinary day it is RM60-80 for Proton Wira (that was the price for the previous LIMA, might be even more expensive come this December).
  8. just to share my least experience from previous LIMA. for those who drive, can always park in kuala kedah or kuala perlis but be sure to be early as by 8am car park would be full. if you're driving in langkawi, car park is not a problem as ample parking space is provided (with a fee, of course). just as precaution, try to book ferry tickets in advance (to and fro). be prepare to get surprise by the exorbitant taxi fare from kuah to langkawi airport and rental car/van. if you're planning to stay in langkawi, forget about it as most hotels would have been fully booked by now and if they don't, be prepare to pay exorbitant price for a room.
  9. i don't think all 4 major aerobatic teams will be there. the last time LIMA was held, they did mention the same thing and ended up with only the red arrow doing the aerial performance.
  10. TF knows that SIN-KUL route is making a lot of money for SQ and MH, so that's why he's eager to have a bite of the pie which SQ and MH is savouring at the moment. somebody should quote TF statement a few years back when he said that he does't need SIN-KUL route and show it to him, either it is from the newspaper or tv news report. see what he has to say about it.
  11. ermmm yum..yum..yum...that SQ new bird really look tempting. hope to catch her in KUL in the coming week (if ever she will come to KUL). thank KC for the fast update on SQ A380.
  12. for all the best thing mention about KLIA/LCCT it seems that security issues remain the gray area. if i'm not mistaken, MAB security personal normally wonders around any aircraft while it is being service and baggage are loaded. so how come this security personal are not aware of such incidence? if that particular person was wondering around the taxi-way or runway for that matter, then MAB should be responsible. how can a person be allow to run around the restricted are without being notice. i guess MAB should get the airforce PASKAU or police VAT69 to patrol the airport area. and most important of all, i do hope that MAB won't start chasing spotters who are basically standing outside the runway and practically does not interfere with any runway activity withing the airport area.
  13. yup, on the last day, from morning to afternoon. public are allow to enter the tarmac and view all static and aerial display. security will be tight, so lighter, cigarette are restricted items in and around the tarmac area.
  14. i've been to LIMA twice before and from what i observed, the last day of exhibition almost half of the exhibitors would have pack up (especially those inside the exhibition hall) while aerial display remain the main attraction and interesting (provided weather is OK). btw guys, make sure to check the weather forecast before and during LIMA yah...the last time i went, weather really screw up the aerial display.
  15. lets see...who's flying and who's driving to langkawi? i'm planning to go too but haven't decided yet as to which mode of transportation to use.
  16. this was a few catches i got on a gloomy and hazy day...Ex-ANA i presume... qatary.... CI arriving...
  17. 9M-AFC was caught landing in KLIA at noon today and around 2pm she was seen departing again on her routine daily duty. very hard working yah....
  18. i guess anyone who went spotting the last 2,3 days should know (& realized) that AK used 9M-AFC for their MAN trip (MyTeam tour) instead of their 9M-XAA.
  19. err...how come i saw 9M-XAA in front of MTB yesterday? did she really fly to MAN with MYTEAM players the other day? as i didn't see 9M-AFC in last few days. was it 9M-XAA or 9M-AFC that flew to MAN?
  20. weather was hot but cloudy and hazy... kuwait arriving.... hibiscus returning back home... eva arriving... overall, not so good spotting session today...
  21. haizzz....forgotten that "1000" is arrival time. even much better, right? sure got no backlight, right? would prefer approach from 14R though.
  22. backlit? no worries. if take off from 14R, can snap from end of 32L. if take off from 32L, can wait at bunga raya complex. saw 9M-XAA park at MTB today.
  23. provided the weather is good lah...
  24. nice catch there rafael. anyway, were you the one who came in the volvo this afternoon? i'll bet there will be a number of spotters on duty this weekend. since XAA would be continuing with her test flight (provided DCA doing OT).
