  1. I have plotted the envisaged potential expansion area at the MTB in yellow. I used very conservative considerations - not interfering with existing taxiway, Bunga Raya is not touched and be in line with existing structure while aware of the architectural style aspect (being symmetrical and all).

Is this by any chance close to the plan? Or something more 'there are a lot of room to grow, you have to use your imagination'?

You're applying logic and common sense, therefore, I don't expect this to be anywhere near the final outcome :)

  2. Not a delivery but AirAsia X newest A330-343X MSN 1674 has completed its painting at XFW.

MSN 1670 is now in primer green colour with D7's tail colour. Stored for future operator.

Is D7 taking more A330-343X delivery this year?

Their 9M-XBB MSN 1646 and 9M-XBC MSN 1659 have been sitting at TLS for quite some time.

Other websites are stating: MSN 1670 and MSN 1674 will be allocated to other airlines.

Three of the above AirAsia X A330s performed their first flight this month:

    1670 f/f 16-11-2015

  3. JOHOR BARU: A light aircraft crash landed at a golf club in Senai, Kulai here.

The pilot, a Singaporean, apparently lost control of the Piper Warrior PA28 aircraft at around 1pm and crash landed into some trees at the golf course.

The victim was injuries and has been sent to the Kulai Hospital for treatment.

According to a source, the man was a trainee pilot who took off from the nearby Senai International Airport.

Japan Airlines (JAL) has firmed up an order with Mitsubishi Aircraft for 32 MRJ regional jets, having signed a letter of intent in August 2014.
The carrier will deploy the MRJs from 2021, to be operated by its wholly-owned regional subsidiary J-AIR, says JAL and Mitsubishi Aircraft in a joint statement.
“As a network carrier that also operates regional jets, we are contributing to the birth of Japan’s first passenger jet,” says JAL president Yoshiharu Ueki.

From the article "The Japanese airframer’s order book for the MRJ now stands at 407, which includes 223 firm orders, 160 on options and 24 purchase rights."

A healthy number of advanced orders at this stage of the programme.

  5. As per http://www.malaysiandefence.com/deftech-av4-blackhawks-in-mark-v-soc-out/ they will be handed over by year end and fully transferred by April of next year. I'm guessing they're still waiting for the green light from the US State Department.

Thanks for the information and link.

Interesting answer by Zulkifeli on who will operate the Black Hawks "will be operated jointly by the RMAF and the Army".

    October Launch For Flymojo Cancelled

    Friday, October 30, 2015

Malaysia’s newest airline, Flymojo, which is managed by Fly Mojo Sdn Bhd, will not meet its planned October launch following the ringgit decline and issues surrounding the Bombardier aircraft it intended to use.

Analysts say the airline that announced in March it would improve connectivity between Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah and Sarawak with its launch, has seen the purchase price of 20 Bombardier CS100 aircraft rise from RM5.5 billion, from the time it was ordered, to RM6.24 billion due to the weakened ringgit.

  7. Rename and shame Jun 5th 2015, 13:25 BY B.R.

RYANAIR, as the airline has not tired of shouting for the past 18 months, is now trying to be nice. Sometimes even to its own passengers. In a radical change of strategy it recently decided the future no longer lay in moving flyers to tears at check-in desks by extracting exorbitant fees for indiscretions as minor as forgetting to print out a boarding pass. Its new, customer-friendly approach seems to be paying off. Last week it announced that its profits were up two-thirds in the year to the end of March.

But, according to a report from the Cambridge News, old habits die hard. A student flying to Ibiza for his holiday found that his girlfriend’s stepfather had mistakenly booked him on a flight under the name Adam West, rather than his actual name, Adam Armstrong. Ryanair told him it would cost £220 ($337) to change the name on the booking—double the price of the ticket. However, the carrier hadn’t reckoned with such a bloody-minded and enterprising student. Splendidly, the 19-year-old avoided the cost by changing his surname by deed poll to the incorrect name on the ticket, and then paying for a new passport. The scheme cost him less than half the Ryanair charge, reckons the paper.

"The Hornbill helicopter belonged to Layang-Layang Aerospace Sdn Bhd, he said. – Bernama, May 28, 2015."

Is this another example of our local journos spewing out what first comes to mind without even a second thought ?! :)

    According to http://www.themalaymailonline.com/malaysia/article/helicopter-crash-lands-at-kota-kinabalu-international-airport

it was "9M-LMM" a Bell 206B JetRanger but should be 9M-LLM.
