we muz not forget tht MASKARGO is an arm of MAS which is making money....wouldnt it be wise to invest in something thts making money..but by the way..i thought MASKARGO had their own balance sheet..and the two new 747F is not under PMB but instead bought by themselves..correct me if i am wrong

i think the main thing MAS has to do is to inrease its frequencies...boost their presence especially with already having the new cabins..and great crew..and not to forget livery tht even other airlines talk about..hehe....and to do this...first they have to get more equipment...and secondly..they have to hire more pilots and cabin crew..and stop the present ones from leaving...

wow kandiah..well done i totally agree with u....they r juz...i dare say..glamourizing their airline and the crew...but wht u get in reality is the opposite...thts a fact..something even their pax talk bout.....when it comes to cabin services theres no way SQ is anywhere close to beating MH and thts known worldwide..

MRD for ADL for this historic occasion would be great..proud to be a Malaysian once again......but having MH landing earlier than the SQ and yet SQ taking off b4 MH....does this mean SQ has a shorter turnaround time??

To me, MH is behind SQ in terms of efficiency (especially when something goes wrong, eg. unavoidable flight delays, etc.) , but MH makes up for it with the warmth and genuine service.  Therefore, I find them to be equal.

 

On the other hand, I also find it interesting how Singaporeans view MH.  Most of the Singaporeans I know would talk about MH like it is a less than 4-star airline, and none of them has even flown on MH.  Last year, just after the MH tail strike in Zurich (which was all over the news over here), a Singaporean colleague who happened to be here that week said to me "see, that's why I only fly SQ!".        Hmm... wasn't there a SQ 744 incident in New Zealand a few years ago?

I dont think MH is behind SQ in terms of efficiency...MH handles incidents and unavoidable interference absolutely well...everything is done fast..and quick to ensure pax are happy...well talking bout incidents..forget the SQ 744 incident in NZ....u shld have told ur colleague to think back about the SQ 744 incident in Taipei..and say.."thts why i never fly SQ"

I think a franchise would be good too....and have a better management running it....coz i think the management is to be blamed...so a better management runnning a franchise would mean even the government wouldnt be losing money..and MAS gets a share of the profits too...but then again its easy for us to comment..implementation is way tougher...but if theres a will theres a way right..
