  1. I think they should file a claim against MAHB instead of MH

Gavin the complex in Penang is run and managed by MAS from what i heard, hence all security matters are their responsibilities. The CMZ in KLIA is managed by MAHB though. By the way, i hope it'll be a wake up call to MAS bout their secuirty matters, the security personnel dont take their jobs seriously...most of them at least..

  2. i'm not sure what the target group of pax is like. Just as Sandeep pointed out, its Transaero instead of Aeroflot. And 8 flights in 3 months? But in an email sent to all its employees, MAS stated that its a trial period for them to gauge the pax load factor. However, its not gonna be easy to gauge that if you're having 8 flights in 3 months because more pax would obviously choose other airlines with better frequency. In my opinion, they're targetting the students and tourist groups for a start since its VMY 2007. An in addtion, Aeroflot has intentions to fly here as well, maybe MH is juz adopting the wait, look and move strategy..Mr. Idris's favourite..lol..but he is known to have made several good moves using that strategy so it may be a good move by MH..never know whats in their plans..

  3. Thanx Keith, but, why is it that they arent gonna operate KUL-SYD-BNE-SYD-KUL? i mean, in that case, SYD pax would not have to transit anywhere at all in comparison with KUL-SYD-BNE and SYD-BNE-KUL ? I can see that it an extra take off and landing which brings to higher cost but could it also be due to the australian authorities not allowing a SYD-BNE-SYD sector as it would be deemed internal?

  4.

If MH route BNE via SYD or vice versa will add at least an hour to SYD/KUL. Instead of reducing traveling time, MH is adding. In the long term, customers will desert MH (it takes longer and higher chance for delay), lower SYD yield (only budget traveler don’t mind the extra hours) and reducing load to Europe.

How does that work out KK? i dont quite get it. Why cant it be that the SYD-KUL pax would only board the plane when it arrives at SYD from BNE? Hence, no addition to SYD/KUL flight flying time. But i am still wondering how ur theory works? Mind to shed some on light on it pls?

  5. An aside: Do you know that KTM charges fare from Singapore in Singapore Dollars? Not in equivalent MYR currency value mind you, but rather, the same numerical value. E.g. a 2nd class seat from KL to Singapore is roughly RM 36 - the ticket for the journey in the opposite direction is SGD 36!

I once worked at a beach resort which charged RM 3.50 per glass of coke, not too bad if it's the whole can but no, each can produces up to three glasses which they sell!

I think it's in the nature of local businesses here to reap the maximum possible from those willing to part with their money. Heh

Isnt that the same thing with MH's KUL-SIN and SQ's SIN-KUL? I heard the same thing is practised there..

  6. in the previous system, the movies are played on 2 seperate channels...for example a movie like Catch..they'll play it on Channel 2 without subtitles and on Channel 2A with subtitles...the new system, i am not too sure though but i think its highly unlikely that the subtitles is on all the time
