  1. Went to see some planes yday at Jalan Selangor. Indeed the 1 taxiway for entry/exit to T2/Sabah AIr/Police Air Patrol is problematic. An A320 just landed from runway 02 has to make 2 U turns (exit runway by turning right to taxiway, re-enter runway, then to taxiway to T2) to go to T2 as there was another A320 waiting to exit the taxiway from T2. @.@
  2. wow.. great pics Jahur. Can see progress going on with final works for the airport. The taxiway for AA aircrafts from T2 to Runway 02 looks completed too, the one in front of T1 building (maybe not commissioned yet) and they need not to make a short trip passing T1 anymore soon perhaps. Wish I could place the ads-b antenna and receiver at Tower haha! On another note, what are fellow WBKK followers here think of a Live ATC feed for WBKK? Would it be any good or could cause concerns? Just to get some ideas. Thanks.
  3. Indeed.. it was much quieter. Kind of reminded me of their B787 whilst just airborne after take off.
  4. RBA B777 V8-BLC in BKI now... source: FR24.
  5. heightened security... ekk
  6. I too have that kind of feeling MRO will not be found in the near future. We just have no clue where has it gone. Hope I am proven wrong however... Perhaps the Suluks will plan for an air borne attack next time. Much easier...
  7. By google translate... Errors in translation is expected. The United States they are the situation in hand? It is in any case what the White House last night came news: the search area of the plane of the Malaysia Airlines disappeared there six days could be extended to the Indian Ocean, said a spokesman for the American Presidency. Information coming from the White House Carefully and weighing each word, the spokesman said the conditional: "I understand that according to new information that is not necessarily conclusive - but new - an area of further research could be opened in the Indian Ocean." The nature of this new information has not been revealed. According to U.S. sources, the Boeing 777 Malaysia Airlines would continue to send signals ("pings") 4 or 5 hours after his disappearance from radar Malays. But these signals does not give any precise information on the location of the aircraft. They are simply transmitted by the satellite "modem" Boeing 777 awaiting transmission. Other means of communication were inoperative, either intentionally or accidentally. These signals emitted at regular intervals, inform investigators that the aircraft was capable of communicating after his disappearance from radar screens, but does not say if it was in flight or on the ground. However, this new information does not provide any answer to what happened inside the MH370 flight: technical failures, or other misuse. The extension of the search area U.S. intelligence services have analyzed the pings received by communication satellites and have concluded that they could reach 777 Malaysia Airlines. According to radar data, the action radius of the device, and probably the situation of satellites receiving pings, investigators focus their investigations into the Indian Ocean. Confirmed today by the Malaysian authorities, the extension of the area of research indicates that the device would have changed course westward after its last communication over the Gulf of Thailand, to fly the Malay Peninsula and the Strait of Malacca, the opposite of his way to Beijing. Why? The question remains unanswered and can lead to all sorts of speculation. Transport Minister of Malaysia has refused to confirm that it was not a diversion. He said that all assumptions were considered. According to Reuters, citing unnamed sources, the Boeing 777 have sailed towards the Andaman Islands, located in the Bay of Bengal (see map above) As for the news channel CNN, she cites U.S. officials who believe probable that at present the plane lies at the bottom of the Indian Ocean. Unprecedented ways Considered "normal" by the Malay authorities after the failure of the first missions, expanding the search area complicates the task of investigators because of the vastness of the Indian Ocean and the depth of the seabed. But never as important means had been used to find a missing device: in total, 57 ships and 48 aircraft from 13 different countries who are looking for the MH370 flight. The United States Navy has deployed a plane area for further research: a P-8A came to the reinforcement of the P-3 Orion already mission. The destroyer Kidd left the Gulf of Thailand to join the north-western part of the Strait of Malacca, at the junction with the Indian Ocean. The Indian Navy has also deployed several ships, planes and helicopters from its bases on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Despite these unprecedented efforts, flight MH370 and its 239 passengers are still found almost a week after his disappearance.
  8. btw... anyone knows what is that 'bridge' like structure with the rails for? I knew it's there for a looong time. Might pop over to have a look soon. Hot weather in KK though.
  9. wow... good spot Jahur. ILS stuffs I guess? long overdued! wonder what are they doing with that area of the unfinished runway/taxiway?
  10. What a mess.. and it sure is becoming a circus show. They can't even get their facts right. I feel so sad for the families... is this what they really want to see?!
  11. somehow that question reminds me of ask captain lim dot com. Perhaps he is (or any other pilots) is the best to answer it. I am sure he piloted Mike Romeo Oscar before? There is a small section in wikipedia about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ram_air_turbine Suzanne Goh: I changed to come back on 714 after i noticed that MH851 pulling up to the stand next to me was a 738 9M-MXF. I still believe in MH and their 777's! The crew i flew with today is still in shock, but i can tell you, you'd never noticed a lapse in service. Somebody called me foolish. I'm just showing support the only way i know how - to give my dying home airline a fare. well done you.. any support will mean a lot to the team.
  12. Let's hope they find something, anything about the plane soon. China is asking for a step up in the efforts, and now the SAR team is even looking to the west coast of Malaysia. oh my... With no ELT it sure is looking for a needle in the haysack.
  13. Sorry to hear that. There will be a reciprocal effect with one less 772 in the fleet now. Still sad... How is the morale of the staffs at the airport? Any increased security checks? Obviously that would depend on where your destination is I suppose.
  14. Not sure what you are doing after that flight, presumably something related to the MAS370 incident. Good luck in whatever you are doing there. Will the NTSB be involved? It would be up for the DCA to request their assistance then they will be involved? Just hope the S&R find something today... anything. And thanks for the info KC Sim... safe landing at Beijing is what we wanted to see. We must carry on despite what happened to MAS370, just like after 9-11, pilots wanted to bring their planes back to the skies, to show people things works.
  15. Certainly a lot to answer about... and I am sure they are as shock as we are. They certainly are stressed out... given the sheer number of POB. A big learning point/lesson to all aviation authorities...
  16. Very valuable information... explains why it took sometime between the disappearance and the delay in contacting MAS about it. But surely it was a bit too... long? I am no expert however. I just hoped there was no delay that lead to the late/slower deployment of the S&R team. So many joining the S&R efforts now... As for the pilots who were at the XAX506... I couldn't imagine what and how they felt... must be so desperate, so helpless....difficult to describe in words.
  17. a post by FR24, stating their frustation at the confusion of when last contact was lost for MAS370. https://www.facebook.com/flightradar24?hc_location=timeline
  18. Let's hope there's survivors. We can only hope. From FR24 playback, MAS370 was at FL350 until 1720UTC time, where then it showed altitude at 0ft. That is a lot of altitude lost in a very short amount of time. Praying for a miracle. Indeed a very sad day for the nation. Brings back sad memories of the MasWing DHC lost in Kudat last year, and the the Mas Fokker50 tragedy in Tawau in 1995.
  19. Indeed... it never is a single factor that causes such incidents. It always is a chain of events. Well documented also in books written by pilots like Captain Lim/Captain Sully Sullenberger. From skyvector and just merely guessing, the plane should have left singapore control (?or subang?) and just entered Ho Chi Minh Control. I went to liveatc.net to search for WSSS feed but it wasn't online. Will have a listen to the Subang feed now.
  20. nice spot Wai Ping did see the A333 appeared on FR24. Nice to see a wide body aircraft in WBKK. And the Nuri does look old...
  21. nice one Jahur thanks for sharing it.
  22. They (?MAHB ?politicians?) need to have some good research and planning for the airport... which I am afraid as a nation this isn't something we take pride on. Only can wait and see... having XAX at WBKK would be fantastic however. I wonder when will that become reality and whether it would be sustainable? On another note, when I was at T1 yesterday, I saw the check in counters closest to McDonalds have been labelled 'Reserved for Air Asia'. They can't force AA to T1 right?
