1. The neverending Peter Max thing, that is stupid blink.gif , who the hell in the world track an aircraft with special livery, why dont we make a never ending Hibiscus livery thread smile.gif , track where it goes etc. pretty much follow her ass alltime,

Well, flying with that aircraft once from New York to Hong Kong..........something never forget, next target...................Hibiscus, ready or not here I come wink.gif

So, are we on with the NEVER ENDING HIBISCUS THREAD? laugh.gif

    22722

I agree it is quite stupid. wink.gif

I never bothered finish reading the posts even in Part I. Well, what that thread tells us is there are some aviation freaks who will follow 'an' airplane to end of the earth! laugh.gif

If we ever start the 'Never Ending Hibiscus Thread' then we'll probably get flamed good. tongue.gif

Enjoy your trip in Hibiscus though. smile.gif

  2. Peter Max,

    Are you really Peter Max?

If you are i think you have a whole aircraft livery dedicated to you.. i think.

There are even (neverending) threads dedicated to the discussion of Peter Max livery at airliners.net. They are now into Part III or something. laugh.gif

Good to have someone on the other side of the dateline on board, Peter. biggrin.gif

Thanks for getting us some shot S Chang.

It's not everyday you get to see 2x MAS B747 in AKL.

  4. Many thanks TK for the great insight of everything really. biggrin.gif

I do enjoy your de-icing 'tour'. The most recent experience for me regarding de-icing process was in Beijing, China in December 2004.

One thing is for sure when it comes to China, lots and lots of manpower. I was looking out the window and saw a bunch of people with brooms sweeping the tarmac! I was enjoying myself until the de-icing stuff covered my beautiful view. dry.gif

  5. maybe the bridges have doors closed and open and stairs to commute to lower level.

KLIA's top floor is for departure, and lower levels for arrival. Is that what you meant?

    Thanks for the reply Walter.

Hmmm...I was thinking along that line but due to limited space in AKL airport I wonder how they will go about it. It's possible I guess but it will probably feel quite cramped and congested during peak period.

Anyone got anymore news regarding the aerobridge collapsing? I couldn't find anymore news online.

  6. That can't be good. sad.gif

Does anyone know how AKL airport is looking like now? I read in Australian Aviation Nov issue that AKL airport is planning to put in a new level dedicated to departure and the existing level to arrival? huh.gif

I'm not sure how it will work with 2 separate levels. wink.gif

  7. Personally I liked all the special liveries from MH, SQ and QF.

    This is my opinion:

MH - I liked the Hibiscus livery because it gives a taste of Malaysia with the national flower Hibiscus. Heliconia also but as the same time the blue colour is rather refreshing in my opinion. (I give them my vote because they are my national carrier).

SQ - Their tropical livery reflects the tropical environment of Singapore. And being such a colourful livery also makes it very nice and stands out.

QF - Reflects Australia with their aboriginal background which makes it unique (and colourful). To some extend I do agree that their liveries are a bit too busy.

  8. Seen Korean Air 747-400 at NZCH in 2003.  Not sure if it was a charter.  JAL does not go to NZCH anymore as it became a code share flight with Air NZ, same as AKL, years ago we used to get JAL 742 and 744 but no more.

SQ still flying to NZCH with their 772, years ago they had A343 flying into CHC as well.

I haven't seen anymore Korean since then so it is most likely just a charter. It flew off during the evening period...around 5 - 6 pm if I remember correctly.

JAL are still operating charters to AKL especially during the summer period I think. There are a few photos at airliners.net. All the Japs are crazy about NZ golfcourse. laugh.gif

I too find the new Business class seats a little weird.

Jonathan Kong, I envy you and all the rest back home...all those widebodies everyday. dry.gif

  9. Hey Ricky, Traffic at christchurch where got boring..

U got JAL, EK, SQ, ANZ u get 777 n 747 as well as the small fellows, QF, Korean..quite a few what.... smile.gif

    16882

    Raj, mana ada? dry.gif

We only have daily EK, SQ and QF in NZCH. You get Pacific Blue in early hours and evening. Korean I'm a little unsure. I managed to see one a while ago when I was at the airport to send off a relative. Unfortunately no camera on me. dry.gif

In NZCH, you can plenty of ANZ A320; B733, ATR-72, Saab, BeechKing; QFNZ B733. Me want LOTS OF BIG PLANES! rolleyes.gif tongue.gif

  10. Gibby, I thought they only have 3 classes - Business, Premium Economy and Economy class, I heard.  They have complete gotten rid of First class.

    13569

I think there are only 3 class. Like you said they have gotten rid of First class and shifted Business up and have the new Premium economy in between.

  11. The last trip I took on MAS A330 I found the seating to be quite spacious.

I agree the cabin does look worn out and if they do plan to keep them for the long term they really need to do something about it. wink.gif

Nonetheless it was a comfortable flight...and of course a beautiful aircraft to spot. smile.gif
