Great Stuff, Kip. My wife and I were in Santorini a couple of weeks ago and while the traffic there is nothing on what you saw (mainly western european charter airlines) we did see one F50 of Minoan Air. Unfortunately, I couldn't relinquish to grip on my pint of Mythos so had to for-go any pictures.

Awesome pics guys!

That would have been fun taking an empty 747 on a 20min hop - to quote Top Gear: "poowwweeerrrrr"

It sure is. As well as requiring local licensed engineers, a DCA type inspector also needs to be trained which is the norm in most places.

Geoff,
Given it is registered to Well Fargo, i'd imagine it would stay on the N-register.
My understanding...Well Fargo, apart from being one of the worlds largest banks, are involved in countless aircraft sales - particularly when the aircraft is operated/based outside the USA as there must be atleast part (possibly majority?) US ownership for it to be placed on the N-register. With this comes easier access to airports, overflight clearances, etc given how strict the FAA are when compared with countless other Civil Aviation Authorities the world over. The guidelines pertaining to record keeping and paperwork enforced by the FAA generally bring with it higher resale value when the aircraft moves on to another operator as all the paperwork shows everything "back to birth." It does however bring a small inherent danger at some places, which you'd only have to watch the nightly news to work that out.

Depending on weather and if it has the "LRAT" (long rang additional tank) fitted. This would have been fitted (if ordered) during the conversion from CRJ to "Phoenix CRJ"She made a stopover en-route to DPS from HKG a few days ago. Believe she was heading back to HKG today after a quick turnaround. Just wondering if she could have done DPS - HKG direct instead. -
**AN-12BK UR-CAH has just departed PER for BKI (it arrived from JHB earlier today) - ETA is 1915L - Callsign is ULK4096.**
Her smoky departure looked fantastic!

Lets not forget about TF's Caterham Jet which is setting its base up at Subang with a fleet of CRJ's (although will operate in a premium configuration).
Q400 is a great plane, however with its extra speed and operating costs comes a substantially higher acquisition/leasing cost. It really is a whole different animal to the ATR-72. The true benefits of the Q400 come over longer stage lengths (eg USM-SZB).
The E170 on the other hand has a few issues, hopefully the planned improvements will iron out some the bugs and reduce its fuel consumption.
-
Hmmm, interesting.
In terms of operating economics and carbon footprint, the only thing in the same category as the ATR-72-500 that beats it, is the -600.

Did anyone see -MPD around BKI today?

Magic stuff! Great shots TK!

Wow. I can't believe it's already started. How weird that the lease for 9M-MRK has ended before 9M-MRA!I'd imagine MRJ, K, L will go first as a few years ago these three had their crew rest area removed and have been dedicated to India, China, Japan, Hong Kong (and previously Australia).

There are 7 continents: North America, South America, Asia, Europe, Africa, Antarctica and Oceania.Middle east is not in Asia. The middle east is just a region that encompasses part of northern Africa and Western Asia.
