This is interesting... Pardon my ignorance, but did this happen today or yesterday? This is because I saw an AirAsia X A330 into Rwy 22 at WMKP at 4.10 pm local time today March 2nd and as far as I know there isn't a scheduled flight into WMKP for AirAsia X... Can anyone confirm if this is the case?

A passenger who only wanted to be known as Patrick, from Ferndale, said it was lucky the plane hadn't been further down the runway.V1

He added that the Lion Air pilots involved in the incidents would not be permitted to fly for at least 15 days.“We do this because they usually suffer from shock after these kinds of incidents,” he said.

would love to hear pilots' take on this.
tho this is unrelated (maybe somewhat), ive personally met pilots who could not tell between the cockpits of 777/734/ATR just by looking at it. (they were blind-walked into a simulator).
Ooh, that's appalling imo...
nutters here wouldve aced this test.
That's so true... :-P

It's a nice design all in all... Red signifies the dawn of a new era with the rising of the Sun...

Interesting! I personally think reclining is a right, else airline should do away with installing reclining seats. Willingly purchased a flight ticket for such a flight means one should willingly accept what has been endorsed in the flight.
Nevertheless, courtesy is always there for us to take on or not. Considerate pax would refrain from reclining if doing so poses discomfort to others. Although I usually don't ask for permission (because it's my right) to recline, I'd always considered asking to recline and would see the situation, refraining from doing so if that would compromise others' comfort (well, I am a considerate pax, haha :-P)...
On a side note, as a pax, if you're leaning against the window and the pax right behind you is speaking on the phone, would that annoy you? It is his right to do so (if he is not in a quiet zone)...

Translation problems perhaps?
Sounds unlikely...

1.3 Damage to aircraft. There was nil damage however the aircraft experienced positive g of 2.02 g and negative g of -0.2g, however necessary inspections were carried out as per AMM 05-51.Is this standard in incident reporting?

Clumsy co-pilot caused plane to diveBy Chloe Turgis
A plane's dramatic nosedive was caused by a co-pilot accidentally pushing a button while adjusting his seat, a report by India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation stated on Monday.
The captain was away on a toilet break when the Boeing 737 aircraft started plunging 7,000 ft.
But the captain managed to save the plane by taking the controls back – only after using an emergency code to enter the cockpit again, since his co-pilot panicked and was unable to let him back in.
The clumsy 25-year-old co-pilot, working aboard an Air India Express flight from Dubai to Pune in India on 26 May, had "inadvertently [pressed] the control column forward", according to the official report into the incident.
No one on the flight was injured, but the report indicates that the 113 passengers were "very much scared and were shouting loudly" during the terrifying dive.
The report also says that the co-pilot "probably had no clue how to tackle this kind of emergency", adding: "Appropriate action shall be taken against the involved crew".
Check the boldface... :-D
Does pushing control column disengage the autopilot?

Ooh, I am not flying anything, though I wished I was! :-P
I still wish to fly with you Penang-KL or vice versa sometime... :-D

Trivia:
Met an ex-engineer from Airbus involved in the development of the A380. Claimed RR engine on A380 is problematic.

The title is a bit misleading (at least to me), but here you go...
Plane leaves runway at Newcastle Airport
Nearly 200 passengers have been evacuated from a plane after it came off the runway at Newcastle Airport.
Tyne and Wear Fire Service said the aircraft "had gone very slightly off the runway" but remained on the asphalt.
No one was in injured in the incident, group manager Keith Carruthers said.
Regular firefighters assisted the dedicated airport fire service with the emergency, which happened on an incoming Boeing 737 shortly after 9pm. Mr Carruthers said they helped 196 passengers to disembark using the stairs.
He said: "There were no injuries reported from any of the passengers. They seemed fine in all honesty, it's just they were disembarking in a different position. Most of them did not realise anything was different.

Glad to know everyone is safe!
Talking about hitting lights, what actually happened to the China Airlines 737 rotating at the end of the runway, hitting lights sometime ago...?

Narrow runway for EK that day... :-D

Very nice! :-)

Ahh, I didn't know that one was new... :-) Glad to have taken a shot of it here! :-)
By the way, I notice a lot of Embraer... Is it a norm here lately or it has been so traditionally...? I don't see them in S.E. Asia normally...

The accidents I have heard of involving SQ are on the ground...
-
Could be A380... got winglet top & bottom... hahaha...
since SQ doesn't fly A310 anymore...
Oh, yeah, didn't think of tht... :-P
No upgrade, no downgrade. Twin refers to engine. Winglets still winglets. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what I fly now. Btw, PIC is one month to retirement. I would say almost no jeopardy. F/O?? Long bumpy road ahead......
Switched to airbus now...? Don't think SQ Boeing fleet has winglet a/c, right?
-
Yes, because they are scared we may photograph them running away from the scene.
...only to return minutes later after feeling some guilt...? :-D
-
No it wasn't me...... I'm on twin winglets now.....
Haha...
Twin winglets... 744?
