erm.. hello guys, im new here ..
may i ask .. is there any place at the end of the runway .. ? i wish to take a video of an MH aircraft coming overhead me and land ~ for my graduation video ..
thanks ..
There're two possible places.... either 14L, near the pond... you've to be near the ERL overhead bridge for overhead shot
or
32R.... on the hill next to the exit road from LCCT....
14L is possible depending on which runway active.... 32R is very rare......

Wow.... nice one near the police station Chaity....
Looking forward for the MWing Anniversary this year....

I'm dubious that those MiG-29s of the RMAF Smokey Bandits team will get airborne. They suffered mechanical issues at LIMA in December (pictured above, on the ground), so not sure they'll get much airtime at the Singapore show. In any case, how much do these guys actually get to practice given the well known support problems with their cool, but Russian, aircraft?Didn't know that Smokey Bandits having problem in LIMA.... did they?

Should we use a car to reach pusat kaji cuaca?
No... you cannot go there anymore... the road closed for construction of KLIA2...

And September would be the "Beach Spotting Season" right?...
-
You caught the Trader!... Great catch Raj.... and truly Cargoes.... hehe
-
Nice shots Raj....
Feel so bad now on missing the fun of spotting together from Crowne....

Try use your existing lens first.. get the feel of spotting,
when you feel you need the extra reach, then, make your selection..
Some of MWinger's Canon user are using 70-200mm f/2.8L /IS and
some went for 100-400mm L... There are a few on the 75-300 & still
have good results from it...

And the gunpod of the SU30 looked just been used...
Probably shooting the target drone tagged by Hawk?

This thread would be nicer if it had all amazing liveries caught by MW spotters from various airlines. (just my 2 cents though )
Only sharing one of the latest, 9M-AFK caught in KUL.
BTW kanehoshi, the Williams livery is 9M-AFW while the Pahamin livery is 9M-AFM.
Spotted the same aircraft on 1st Jan, 2012, but with Indonesian flag & rego...

Dropped by Sepang Town on the way back from Tampin,
Arrived site at 1445.... expected dugong at 1455...
the Dugong got assisted by tailwind I guessed... landed at 1441...
Anyway... thanks to Pieter... a consolation, arrived 20min early too
the tailwind must be good over Bay of Bengal... everybody arrived early from the west

Question for Norman: Noticed that you marked the Helang Hotel as a spot. Is there an observation or deck in that location? Thanks
If I'm not mistaken... you can spot through one of the corridors.... but you need the management permission or become a guest there
-
Scanner is classified under control item,
and you need a license to use it... even though it can't transmit...
So I suggest you use it discretely if you still want to...
There was a case few years ago near KUL where 2 foreign spotters were caught
using the scanners and spent 2 nights in police lock-up....
-
You can use Adobe Lightroom.... the latest will read latest camera raw (all brand)
Similar process to what Nguyen suggest in Photoshop.... but much more simpler
and the cataloging is superb.... Download the trial copy.... use it for 30days... & I think you'll purchase it at the end of the period

Good shots Sneeze....
Good luck in catching Hong Kong Trader in flight...

I've seen people park their cars just outside the perimeter fence next to the LCCT terminal during departure. Maybe can spot from there?
The fence is very high, and you'll attract attentions when using a very tall ladder.
and only AK's A320 from there... , unless you've very powerful tele for
holding on A11 for 32R
-
Due to high mountains beyond 03, almost all landing will be 03 and takeoff 21 all the time.
-
Please zoom in using your own google earth to study how to get to the
potential spotting locations. I marked the using red circles

Dear all,
I will be in Langkawi for holidays from 06JAN2011 to 09JAN2011 and would like to spend one day - Sunday 08JAN2011 for spotting at Langkawi airport.
Appreciate if someone can show me some good spotting locations there. Thanks and best regards.
Hi Nguyen...
If you check the first page of this topic, Yukihiro has provided some tips on some good locations to spot around LGK..
maybe you need a taller ladder since the airport authority has put up higher fence. Anyway, you don't need the ladder
at some of the locations... there are some high grounds where you can position yourself.

Wow nice collections of the 'after the show', Kip....
btw... did you get the F5's flypast?
and really felt bad not to meet you....
-
Could be due to special reception being held at C27... thus allowing those welcoming the aircraft to view the landing....
As for 32L for A380, there shouldn't be any problem.... remember SQ's training flights few years ago?...
-
Some of us 'trying to get her belly' in Sepang town,
while everybody else were landing 32L..... this Dugong decided to choose 32R
Syed A Ridhwan: Thanks for inaugurating the year 2012 with this very good photo report . How come u can return to this excellent location? Bulis is on holiday leave?
Bulis has put up their guard post on the hill.... & I guess you can always approach them and ask permission nicely...

Thank you Uncle Nguyen
I was lucky since I accidentally set the camera to shutterspeed priority at 1/50sec...
By the way Capt Garrat flew her Mooney all the way from Seam Reap, Cambodia, in one of the legs in her Round The World trip...
